Hello all, I don't usually check in during the weekend but here I am reading your posts happy that you are taking good care of yourselves.

Yesterday (Friday) I really wasn't feeling 100% (maybe a little depression) but went to the gym because that's what I do on Fridays at lunch time. Still doing the slow motion lifting. Did Bi/Triceps. I feel it more on my triceps now than in my biceps.

Got a nice compliment from a lady in spin class. She said, ' you've got incredible arms.' Or something like that.

After a warm up I did 4 circuits of:

Bicycles
Mountain climbers
Ab wheel rollouts
Heavy rope fun
High plank w/ shoulder touches
Ball slams
Russian twists
Rowing machine

It's beautiful outside so I may attempt a short walk before starting to cook in preparation for the small Passover Seder I'm hosting tomorrow

Hola all! Good to read about everyone getting fit still. I admire the runners as the pollen is getting bad out there. Time to start taking those allergy blockers. Good for you Ringo! A compliment from a stranger can give the inspiration to keep going.
Oh, finally hit another milestone. I'm down 45lbs now from where I started after Christmas. And it's bi/tri/forearm and cardio day for me. Have a nice rest of the weekend everyone!

Congratulations Upstairs.......you're on a roll! And hello to everyone.

Yesterday was legs and I wanted to try barbell squats again. Yet again I've messed up my back. I think I've learned my lesson this time and will have to use machines only on leg day. Anyway, not important in the grand scheme, just don't like admitting I'm not a 30 something anymore and will have to adjust accordingly as time goes.

Will take it easy today and tomorrow and gain inspiration through all of your achievements.

Mark, sorry to read about your back. Us mortals have to make some concessions as we age which took me years to wrap my head around, but the reality remains that the calendar was catching up with me. I'm not 30 anymore. Or 40. Or 50. I'm still fighting the good fight and I've come to terms with the adjustments and approach things with an attitude that I'd prefer to consistently do "whatever" than keep getting injured and having to take time off. I hope you heal quickly and fully.

I went on a walk of a couple of miles with my wife and dog and am now in the midst of cooking for tomorrow.

Thanks SW, it's my fault though as I knew better. It is improved today.

Well put GC, and just the reinforcement I needed today because I was cultivating a bad attitude! Anyway, I'll be back at it in a couple of days doing my best at what I can safely do. In the meantime I'll enjoy the beautiful weather and birdsong here on my patio.

Mark, the realization I wrote about took me a long time to accept and act upon accordingly and even after that it's hard to balance pushing yourself and not doing too much because it's a constant moving target. You know you're doing great so keep at it!

Hello everyone. I have been away from SR and away from exercising for more than a week.

After being satisfied that my shin splints were gone, I ended up being lazy for a few days because my sister was visiting from abroad. We did go for a run Sunday before last, and I had a fall. It was silly - I just fell ker-splatt onto the road, onto my elbows and knees, without any obvious distraction or obstacle whatsoever. Suffered a bad scraping of knees, bruising and soreness but nothing worse.

Then, with knees sore and wounded (cue violins), I did nothing until a 15 km charity run on Sunday just gone, which went fine - within my target pace for a half-marathon but not a time to really set the world on fire. Very tight hips this morning, so went to a hot yoga class tonight. How loudly did my hips, hamstring and calves complain in that class!

And now I am back and very happy to see you all exercising away, plus lots of new names...!

Upstairs--congrats on the weight loss. Keep up the good work.

Mark--take care of that back. Only one you've got!

I'm with ya! I haven't seen 30 in years.

MsP, missed you.

Being Monday, it's spin at 11am. If sunny out at 3p, I'll do an outdoor cardio/leg work out but if cool, I'll do legs at the gym. After a light dinner, peddling to 7pm OA meeting.

Great job, guys!

Sorry about your fall, MissP. I fell for no reason on a trail on Saturday. In the mud. My husband took a picture before helping me up. Ah well.

Accepting we're not 30? I'm fighting it every step of the way!

My half was yesterday. Finished. I was slow, but not last. lol It was kind of a vision quest for me. I used to run, I started drinking heavily for a good solid year and was killing myself and really hurting all those around me. This was like my way of saying to the universe that I am here again. I don't think anyone gets it, but thought you guys might.

Get stiff and sore so I try to walk every 10 minutes or so. Not too bad. Next one is in June. Travelling to Niagara Falls and I get to meet a few SR friends on that trip.

Thanks for always being here! I am definitely in the pink cloud today!! I truly love my life. Never thought I could say that again.
