Happy Monday, y'all! Today after work I will start my yoga workouts! I will be doing at home workouts for now during the week. This fits best in my schedule. LDT was kind enough to send me some links - thank you!! Will post later after the workout is done.

First post of the year so lets start off with important stuff. I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year's celebration.

Wowza, lots of posts. Too many to address individually, but to answer the question about running outside in winter, I do it. I try to be careful concerning ice and I wouldn't be truthful if I said I never slipped on a patch of black ice, but for the most part as long as one has the proper gear it's fine.

Possibly the most treacherous cold weather run I did was the 2008 Philadelphia Marathon. 17F when I arrived at the staging areas and 22F at the start and despite big efforts by the volunteers and organizers the areas around the hydration stations were sheets of ice. Recognizing that safety and finishing was more important than time I gingerly walked through a lot of those areas.

I was at the gym this morning for my usual Monday session with my trainer.

Two rounds of:

30 Jumping jacks
20 squats
10 pushups

Three sets of:

Renegade rows with pushups
Turkish get ups
Russian twists
Ab wheel roll outs
Push up up/downs
Ball slams
Heavy rope singles
Planks

Got all packed and bundled up to go the gym, but then I couldn't find my car keys. Spent the last hour and a half looking for them. Got a hold of someone still at the office and they found them on my desk. I took the bus in this morning (as I normally do a few time a week) and must've mindlessly emptied my pockets (I also left my sunglasses behind). I've often said that one of these days, after driving the car in to work, I'm going to forget and take the bus home. \_(ツ)_/

Good morning everyone!

I am staying indoors today but will be doing yoga and the Bowflex - totaling 40 minutes.

Making a soup and salad I love to keep me away from unhealthy choices.

Have a terrific Tuesday everyone!

First time on this thread. I don't need to 'get back in shape' but I did let loose a little the last two long weekends.

Today at 11am is spin class. I love to exercise outdoors but that has to wait til it gets warmer.

My food is planned for the day, so I'm covered there. I start work early so I bring both breakfast and lunch.

I strive for fitness on all three levels: mental/emotional, physical and spiritual. Sober in AA and abstinent in OA. Still have some co-dependent stuff...

Take care everyone!

Hi, guys.

Gonnachange - Thank you for winter running tips! But next couple of weeks promise to be ridiculously cold, so i will have to find some alternatives.

Day 2 of my road to spring. Recently I lacked consistency in my both eating and exercising habits, so time to get back on track.

I've found an inexpensive gym nearby. It's very basic, but they allow to pay per visit. They are not open until January 5, so I will check them then.

For now I am doing all the kinds of bodyweight exercises I can do at home - jumping rope, push-ups (regular and knuckle), squats, lunges, crunches, some footwork drills, shadowboxing, plank.

Though I am on NY vacations till January 9, I work on my own project, and spend lots of time at computer, so I make exercise break every now and then.

Great job, everyone!

The day started with a short walk to meet a friend for breakfast. My plan was to hit the gym after that, but upon returning home it was evident that I would be going to the vet instead. My dog scratched her eye last night and it became very irritated and swollen. Fortunately we were squeezed in and taken relatively promptly, but the whole process still took about 90 minutes. Now that I'm back from that I'll shortly be taking my son, my daughter, and her boyfriend to the airport. We're flying them to Florida to spend a week with Grandma. If all goes well I'll get some exercising done after dropping them off in the form of a solo free weight session.

Back! I'm with ZerotheHero. I'm just shooting for "breaking a sweat", lol. Starting some weight lifting (I hope) today plus bike. And I lost 7lbs my first week on the diet. That'll slow down a lot from my past experiences in the coming weeks. 35lbs or so to go. Ugh! Good luck all!

My wife and I will be at the gym in about 2 hours to move iron for about one hour. My routine will involved squats, deadlifts, bench presses, and rows.

Hi everyone and happy new year to you all. So much activity going on, it's so motivating to get going. I joined the Winter thread but was organised enough. I'd like to rejoin please. Have set aside 1 hour each evening to work out. I joined a 30 day yoga challenge on doyogawithme and it's excellent.

Hi all. Began my 2017 fitness routine this morning. Did a 3 mile walk this morning in about 45 minutes. At this point I've logged in a total of 12172 steps for the day a little over 5 miles. I also began logging my meals today as well as recording 3 things that I'm grateful for. My goal is to maintain this process 5x per week and to start including some strength training also.

Thanks to all. Your posts inspire me to push ahead!
