Ghostly....now that you brought it up.... I might make fun of you for other things, But your fasting is not one of them. And even if it was, you know I would do that to your face, not behind your back...... That's what friends are for, right?.

However...... I personally have never seen a tremendous amount of weight loss when fasting long periods of time. My body sort of goes down into survival mode and hangs on to whatever measly calorie I put into it if I'm fasting. I've proven to myself over and over that, all things being equal, I lose more weight when I'm eating. Now, having said that, you have a tremendous work out regimen, and I'm just a stretching/chanting/ fire breathing yogini.....so it might be a totally different deal for you. If it's working ( and it seems to be ) go for it !

Welcome Kahlia!

Wehav...... Fresh smoothie today.....leftover smoothie tomorrow.

I don't know what it is but I just can't do it ugh ...

I never even ate chocolate whilst I was drinking and vice Verca

I cooked a lovely meal last night of chicken mignons and mash potato with broccoli Brussels sprouts and carrots ...it was delish .then I had a packet of Fuchocs after ...ugh was only intending to have a few .

It's almost like the feeling when I was drinking ...I just can't get enough and almost get a high from it .

Hello, Thamkyou for the welcome. Snoozy ur dog is amazing mine smiles too haha gotta love em I need to learn how to post pics on here. as for the chocolate addiction I had a roast chicken addiction lol I was obsessed with them but thankgod that went. I have a very addictive personality but being sober I swapped beer to ginger beer, for the mental effect lemonade with angostura bitters and lemon squash and tonic (all diet and I get yelled at every day for now drinking diet stuff, it used to be yelled at for drinkin alcohol cant win lol) try changing to something sweet and slowly change the things you crave. lollipops helped me when I was recovering from bulimia. I found it was just the fact I had to be eating something. now I allow myself a few lollies but not a big fan of sweets. hope that helps

Hiya Kahlia , another Aussie woohooo.

Ok ....now in this window go to the bottom where it says ' go advanced '

Then look to the top of the window to see the black paper clip .

Click on that , then upload your pic .

Hope this helps

Kahlia, Snooz can tell you how much I dig Aussies..... You guys are as crazy as the Cajuns I live amongst

I would never yell at you about the diet stuff, Kahlia, but I do Have to part ways with you in the artificial sweetener, though. I confess I will have the occasional diet coke, but artificial sweetener can be as destructive ( sometimes more so) than sugar. If you're early In sobriety I would just say do whatever it takes.... In early sobriety I ate so much sugar it was insane.

Snoozy..... Fruit dahhhllling......eat it. It will gently get you over your chocolate addiction. Frozen bananas for raw ice cream..... Raisins......grapes..... Figs......baked apples with coconut.

19 months sober for me Gang. Longest I've ever been sober. Feels good.

My wife made some frozen bananas pieces covered in dark chocolate a few days ago. she made them for my daughter, who did not seem to be that in to them. So they sat in the freezer till I could no longer take it and finished them off. Pretty good.

^ Yeah I can normally make it a bit, but those things will be gone one way or another. My wife has been making a lot of "healthy" snacks lately. Making things like pumpkin cupcakes made from almond flour. It would be fine if I could be like a normal person and have a couple, but I frequently finish them off in one sitting.

I think white nectarines / nectarines are out of season here at the moment, Snoozy. The only ones I can get from Woolies or Coles are from the US. But my goodness.....they are sweeeeeet. Delicious!

Tomorrow. Is my last day of naughtiness. I'm cooking for a visitor....it would be just plain unsociable to partake of the labours of my cooking!

Then that's it. Thurs / Fri light veg and fruit....weekend....lemon detox.

Hey y'all! Oh my gosh this dog is taking up all my time!! Help!!

I am barely eating enough. We had grilled chicken last night, grapes, paleo chocolate, and I had a boiled egg earlier in the day. That was all. We are acclimating to having to watch this puppy all the time now. And dealing with making the cats feel safe, etc. Just very stressful for me.

It's my birthday today I am hoping for a cake. I told my husband I don't have time to even think about making a paleo cake today. Hoping he gets the hint. He gave me a 7 day birthday present drawn out sort of surprise... so he is being kind of romantic. Very sweet.

Hi, Heaters!

Here I am, on Day 30 of Whole30 Challenge!

I am actually going to stick to this regimen for a while since I feel pretty fine on it. But I feel kind of relieved that I can have something "not whole 30" now and then when there's no time to cook or so. I've treated myself to very high-quality whey protein today, so it would be nice to just have a protein shake after an intensive workout.

SJ - Happy Birthday! Sending your virtual paleo cake)

Snoozy - Welcome back!

Kahlia - Great to see you here. I had experience with fasting about a month ago. I did day fasting on water and green tea. No particular reason - just was curious how I would feel. Surprisingly, I felt fine. Especially after - I had a lot of energy. But I am surely not looking forward to it again.

Ghostly - Love the idea of sugar coated bananas)

LDT - Congrats on 19 months sober , my friend!

My best healthy wishes to all.

See you later)

Kahlie - I still use tinypic.com to post pics. Some seem to do fine without it. Dee created a Thread for quick tips on things like posting pics...maybe it will help:

http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...ndy-hints.html

Congrats MB! Nice job!

Happy Bday Jennie! Mine is soon too, and I secretly want a real cake as well.

Today I fasted for about 13 hours, and broke it with a post work out meal of Paleo pancakes, two bananas, a pear and some dates. Later had some grass fed beef / burger and some salmon. Also had some broccoli and kale. Stuffed.

Ghostly, he brought home a German chocolate cake for me. It was pretty good. But I would have given it up for a paleo carrot cake in a heartbeat!! I seriously didn't have time or the inclination to deal with putting one together.

I am so stressed about this dog It is bringing up emotions in me. I have been crying for two days!! What on earth is wrong with me?? We finally talked tonight, and it is several things. It's like postpartum depression or something, since we don't have human kids. And it's bringing up childhood issues about my mom, and just all sorts of worries about our future. I am really surprised this puppy is causing me such strong emotion. It's taken me two days to get to the point where I realize what is even going on.

Anyway... just nuts. I'll be fine. Jeez, this is nuts.
