Try some good sources of proteins & fats. That should satiate you and hold you over.

I ate chocolate and cookies like a madwoman when I first got sober. That's not ideal, but it kept me from drinking. And back then, NOT drinking was my highest priority.

Hi, Heaters.

Popped in to say hi.

I feel so lousy that lost my appetite completely.

Just chewed some raisins to go with tea today.

See you all later.

Welcome jimmyjjohn!

MB I'm sorry you're still ill...do you think it's because of your new meds?

Day 9 Whole30
Breakfast ....leftover sweet potato hash and eggs
Lunch..... Pesto (made from the basil from my garden) on baked chicken.
Dinner..... Will be a roast of some kind ( not sure yet ) that I will cook in the crock pot.

I'm going to make some more cauliflower rice today because that was just too good yesterday. I found out green pease are not Paleo, but once I'm off Whole30 I will eat them because I LOVE them

Here's a recipe I'll be making this week:
Cooked Vegetable Salad | Paleo Leap

HI Heaters!
I am getting ready for another week of work.

I went shopping for some summer clothes yesterday and it was not fun, due to the weight I gained over the winter from the alcohol, eating indiscriminately, and being lethargic.

Yesterday, I hate healthily half of the day salad, hard boiled eggs for lunch and had two pieces of pizza after shopping to try and re-energize.

Today,
I am going to have a whole wheat tortilla with natural peanut butter, fresh strawberries, yogurt, and a hard boiled egg between lunch and dinner.

Right now, I am drinking earl grey tea, and trying to get ready for work.

Have a great and healthy day, you all!

MB... hope your appetite soon improves! Hang in there.

Welcome, jimmyjjohn

LDT, that salad looks good. Got kind of an Italian vibe to it. Thanks for the link. And what cauliflower rice recipe do you use? I'd like to make it. Didn't you mention you use lime in yours sometimes? Or was that someone else?

Gilmer, great job on the veggies!

1Day, with the way you're eating, bet you'll start dropping a few of those winters lbs in no time.

So... today I've been on the go. Just enough time to grab a banana for breakfast, had my coffee, and off to a Continuing Care meeting. Lunch was crock-pot chicken and sweet potato. And another cup of coffee.

My beautiful new handbag arrived today, and it was well worth the wait. Just gorgeous. Can't wait to use it.

Dinner will probably be more crockpot chicken, zucchini, onions, sweet potatoes and either cantaloupe or grapes for dessert.

I pulled out some of my old raw vegan cookbooks and have found our favorite chocolate cake with chocolate ganache frosting recipes. The only subs will be honey for agave, and boom... it's paleo-ized. In fact, I looked at many recipes. They are either paleo or can easily be adapted. Good to know!

SJ...I don't use lime in my cauliflower rice, but it sounds good....I might try it.

I sort of used a couple different recipes for the rice, but here's basically how I did it: I diced and sautéed onions in coconut oil until translucent. I riced the cauliflower in a food processor and then sauteed it in the pot with the onions for 10-15 minutes, until it was soft, but not mushy . Season with salt and pepper....I eyeball measurements. Then at the very end of sautéing I throw in diced green onions. They add a nice crunch to the "rice". Maybe check out this site: Delicious & Wholesome Cauliflower Rice Recipes | Paleo Grubs

Good day of eating. Getting ready to eat dinner. I cooked a roast in the crock pot with a tomato sauce I made this morning from ultra ripe tomatoes and other leftover veggies in the fridge. The sauce is tasting great!

SJ...do tell us about the handbag.

Oh, that rice does sound good. And the addition of the green onions does too. Hmm, someone else must have mentioned the lime. Anyway, I bet the lime would be great on it for a Mexican or Asian paleo dish.

The bag is really pretty. It's an Elliott Lucca purse. The designer is known for making woven details on the purses and I just fell in love with them.

Hi, all)

I am feeling better. Temperature dropped, but still fell somewhat nauseous and very weak and light-headed.

Had tiny part of my appetite back, and surrended to cappuchino and a slice of bread. Well, so much for whole30. But I'll wait for better physical condition to start another one.

Also had some strawberries and mango.

Having almost no protein these days. Feel like I've lost half of my muscles.

Reading your awesome recipes and can't wait till I finally can hold myself in vertical position long enough to cook something)

LDT - No doubt I feel sick because of meds - common side-effects of the antidepressant I am taking. Getting my head back straight comes with a price)

SJ - What a purse! I am going MidnightGreen with envy))))

Have a nice day, Heaters!

See you later.

Good Morning Heaters,

Thunderstorms here, which means my dog has been FREAKING OUT since 3:49 a.m. (Sigh). I'm taking him to work with me just because he's so weirded out. That's ok...my piano students love him to death and maybe their petting him will calm him down some.

Day 10 whole30

Breakfast....Tried something new and it was delicious! It's off the website:
Stupid Easy Paleo - Easy Paleo Recipes and it's called 'Breakfast stuffed peppers'. ... The only change I made to this recipe was I used fresh spinach instead of frozen, and I sautéed it down in the maybe-not-entirely-compliant-bacon ( if I wanted to be 100% sure I would have to order bacon online, and I am just not going to do that right now).

Lunch....leftover basil chicken in lettuce wraps with salsa my son made ( which is my favorite and very clean).

Dinner.....No clue yet.

MB...hang in there kiddo. It will get better! I'm glad your appetite is coming back and I'm really glad you ditched Whole30 until you are better.

Oh wehaaaaav...... You missed roll call again.

Hugs to the rest of our healthy gang...I'll be back later .

Hi, all.

MB: it is good to read that you are starting to feel better.

I have no clue what I am going to eat today or pack for work... I am feeling so much like not going into work but have to pay those bills.

I did wake up and washed my dishes and cleaned the kitchen a bit; I realized now that I am eating healthier, at least most of the time, I am cooking a lot more.

I guess I will look around in the refrigerator and see what I can create and start getting ready for the workday/evening.

I will check in later when I return. Have a great day!

Quiet day here on heaters...
Work is over... yea!! I do not work tomorrow, Wed, although I do have a meeting late afternoon.

My food was not very good today: Greek yogurt, strawberries, cup of soup, and then I had a chocolate bar with a diet Dr. Pepper... and I don't really drink soda...weird cravings... I will attribute it to having 18 days sober.

I really need to go grocery shopping. I do have salad fixings for a healthy snack/light dinner.

Have a good night.

I love basil chicken. I made some on Monday and have been eating on it for a couple days now. It tastes great on top of a bed of lettuce.

Day 11 Whole30

So far so good. As far as I know, no cheats. By that I mean that if there are hidden ingredients in some of the food I've eaten, then so be it....I've worked harder at this W30 than the last one. Sleep is GREAT, I've lost weight ( don't know how much ), and now that I'm past then Paleo flu , I think I'm starting to approach 'Tiger Blood' ( wehav's term). I have still have some body pain , but those are mostly wrist issues that have nothing to do with sugar.

My menfolk ( sons and husband ) will be gone for a week picking up our new boat. I will be alone for a week so food will be interesting. I won't have to cook for anyone but meeeeee I might juice fast one of those days ( just for fun ).

I have a really long day of teaching, so I will post my menu a little later.

Happy Wednesday Eating Heaters!
