I'm with ldt, a deal is a deal and WHEN you lose the weight by October, which is pleee try of time to do it right and slowly, he should let you to to London. And I can cheer you on and tell you how awesome London is, because I'm taking a side trip to visit a friend and we are going to spend a day there. I can already tell you it's awesome, because they have the royal botanic garden, that's why.

Ldt, sorry about your sons exam. That's nuts to try and study for all that at once! He'll get it next time.

Well I'm gonna do a change of plans and make a pizza. With cauliflower. I'll tell you how it goes...

Just got back from sushi .... I only ate a Wasabi salad,,which is this delicious seaweed salad, some gyoza, and a little miso soup . I wasn't really that hungry .

Our son is fine ... He realizes he bit off way too much. He's prone to moods we call "Eyore" ( from Winnie the Pooh), but he seems ok tonight

cauliflower crust pizza was awesome!!! I don't mean to gloat, well okay I do, but I paleo-ified a Rachael Ray pizza and it came out pretty darned good. its the first time I adapted a recipe like that.

I didn't have all the ingredients for the thai chicken pizza, but I had enough to make a go of it. I grilled the chicken with almond butter sauce instead of peanut. made the crust cauliflower spiced with chili pepper, garlic, and Chinese 5-spice.

yep, used real cheese, which I know paleo scholars are debating dairy, but it's the dairy trial portion of my re-entry. like ldt says, sorry for not being sorry lol. unless I wake up tomorrow broken out more than usual, I'm definitely good with dairy. something last time made me a bit bloated, but it apparently ain't this.

I'm glad the test didn't mess up your son's mood. I'm amazed you went to sushi and didn't go hog wild, especially after the sushi conversation! :-) good for you.

Morning Heaters,

Wehav.... I'm so making that pizza crust today.....didn't go hog wild on sushi because I wasn't in the mood for some reason. That wasabi salad was exactly what I wanted.

Tomorrow we're going out of town to "Festival international" which is this cool music festival showcasing music from around the globe. Unfortunately there won't be anything Paleo to eat there....but there will be food from around the globe as well, so I'll do my best to choose wisely. As always there will be booze galore.....and as always, I will pass

Hope y'all have a fantastic Friday!

What no paleo but yes international? That sounds like the perfect excuse to go hog wild with.... Indian!!!!

I think I'm gonna make chickpea curry for my legume re-entry...

Yeah it's official, dairy and I are good. No belly issue, no bloating, no breakouts, no creaky joints, nada. That's good to know. But I've got a ton of canned coconut milk in the pantry so I'm gonna keep using it.

I'm taking a SWAG (scientific wild assed guess) that it's gluten that makes me creaky ( joint pain, stiffness beyond the normal getting out of bed stuff), and either gluten or legumes on the bloat. We shall see...

It's fun being systematic his time around!

Oh and ldt, the only rule about breaking diet at an international food fest is you gotta tell all about it!

Details, girl!

SWAG...I love it and I'm gonna use it.

YES on the Indian food if I can find it . I know there will be Lebanese.

I didn't make the pizza today. Instead, we are having steak and crab .

My sleep continues to improve....I know it's the Absence of sugar.

Use away, ldt, I stole it from my brother. He used it in biology class. Biology was more my thing, he was more of a physics guy. So when his teacher asked him about something he hadn't studied he said, "well according to the SWAG theory, Blahblahblah." The teacher let him off the book for originality.

Okey doke, here was my menu for today. Pretty standard these days...
Breakfast: the rest of the cauliflower pizza
Lunch: sallaaaaaad
Dinner: orange chicken I was gonna make last night, over cauliflower rice.

I've eaten cauliflower about every flippin' day. I used to hate cauliflower!! Maybe, just maybe, I'll try raw ice cream with *gasp* a banana...

Hope your steak and crab was awesome! I could sneak down and eat the crab off your steak... like how I invite myself over to eat your food?

Gilmer, how's it going girl?

Ghostly, thinking of you man!

Lifet, come join us!

I am doing well. Not great, but not bad, either. No blowout.

I earned a reward at Panera--a free smoothie. i came this close to ordering a green smoothie this morning--kale and banana, I've actually never tried kale. My daughter says it's good. If it was spinach, I'd drink it in a second. Maybe I'll be bold tomorrow and choke one down!

Green smoothies are pretty good. You might find you aren't choking the kale one down at all. My first green smoothie was apple, kale, cashews. My sister knew not to give me banana...

Hi, all)

I've been messing up with my nutrition last week. Back on track today. Feel so bad after yesterday's late-at-night binge that can't have anything but coffee so far.

See you later)

Kale is good, I've only eaten it at dinner or in salad. My problem is amount of food I eat, usually quite a lot of fruit and veges. I get into trouble with bread and certain grains or dried fruit. it is surprising how much a small person 5 foot 2 inches can eat. I have always had a good metabolism, but it is slowing down with age.

Hey Heaters,

Kale is a Super food. I look at it as a gift. If I'm eating kale I know my body is thanking me. It's very versatile, tastes good....packs a punch. What's not to love?

We're Leaving to go to a music festival in about an hour. There will be tons of food and drink everywhere .....we're bringing water and I'll be scoping out the raspberry tea booths! I'll let you know my menu after I get back ( tomorrow ).....Chow Heaters ( pun intended ).

I'm home...... Home to Paleo food and a real bathroom that is NOT portable or temporary ....one that you don't have to share with 10,000 people..... Home to the absence of the smell of beer and wine wafting through the air. Ahhh.... Public bathrooms and crappy food are not high on my "to do" list....ahem...neither is beer or wine . I did have a really fun time, though, (believe it or not.). Heard some awesome musicians

But I woke up I n The hotel room feeling decidedly hungover. It reminded me of all the mornings post music festival that I really WAS hungover. Was that a flashback?? ....I think my problem was all about the food....I ate bread and rice yesterday and that just doesn't feel good any more. I hurt and was foggy brained for most of the day . H made a great lunch, so I'm back in the groove. Gonna make some Papaya Yonananas later from some papaya I had frozen a few months ago. Yum! Anyone else love Papaya like me?

Hey ldt, did you just have a sober monthiversary?? Congrats!!

Well this time around after the whole?? Challenge I haven't felt the resurgence of all my (very few) woes. I wasn't creaks this morning. Gluten affected my digestion a tiny bit, but nothing crazy. I think I'm going to try to keep it an occasional rather than staple though. Today was back to no gluten but yes dairy. think I'm supposed to do other grains next. Been kind of craving bibimbap, so rice sounds good. If I do Indian, I won't be able to separate the rice from the legumes.

So today's menu:
Brunch: sweet potato hash and eggs (must be the weekend)
Treat: froyo.
Dinner: grilled marinated salmon, garlic, onions. Grilled asparagus, roasted broccoli, grilled pineapple. Yummmmm!

Ldt, glad you made it home to your own potty. I've spent a week at music festivals before, that can get interesting.

Have a good night heaters!

Hey wehav..... I guess I might have had an anniversary...or is it tomorrow? I think it's tomorrow....16 months ( again)..... I was 18 months before my little ...ahem...."experiment" with moderation. . . Now THERE was a brilliant idea....... Anyway, glad I made it back to sobriety...and thanks!

I'm just writing this weekend off on the healthy eating.....it was ridiculous.....back at it tomorrow . I've got asparagus soup already simmering in the crockpot for tomorrow . our son looked in the fridge and said we had way too many vegetables in there. I said "And your point?"
