since I wasn't going anywhere fast or far yesterday, I finally just took it off and let it recharge.

so far today i'm in for over 3000 steps...morning grocery shopping, vacuuming, rounding up laundry, and a trip to the yard for a rather soggy poodle doodle round up. with the dyson there were two trips to the garbage to empty the bin, which is up the drive on the far side of the garage. MORE steps! I should get out there and start picking up all the downed branches and twigs from the recent rain/wind storms.

I can see blue sky for the first time in eons! and no water falleth from the skies!

just gotta update...since it is SO nice out - mid to upper 50's, peek a boo sunshine, I went and deadheaded my hydrangea....it's a big ole leggy thing...a few years back I whacked it down to the earth and it still made a come back. then whacked at the burning bush which has been HIDNG a camellia bush that we just "discovered" last year (we've lived here 7+ years!!!?), did some pick up sticks, threw the ball for bucky, dysoned the bare floor area and WAH LAH...

we are now at 5,325 steps! couple loads of laundry and i'll almost be at my goal for the day! and both my house and yard benefitted!

I did heavy cleaning yesterday (live in a ranch no stairs), but only got in 4,000 steps. zero stairs all weekend. my goal is 45 flights per week, so I should climb 15 flights today, we will see how far I get.

am VERY happy to report I have lost 2.5 lbs this week! (I would ultimately like to lose 35-40 to get back to my best feeling physical self)

although I still don't have a kitchen, I am trying to eat better...fruits, veggies, protein from fish....

I have the fitbit set-up to lose 1.5 lbs. per week and I think I finally the hang of the nutrition, I was shocked to see how much salt I was getting!

my fitbit charges up really quickly, like in 90 mins. the dashboard tells me when the battery gets low.

Thanks to Miss Fandy I got my fitbit a little over a month ago. It has help keep me focused and excited about making progress.

I started at 197 and weighed in today at 189!!!

My goal is 170. I was that 5 years ago.

On weekends I can average 12500 steps and between 5 and 6 miles. This coming weekend I am off Friday so I plan on beating that all three days.

Nothing will stop me from getting to this goal. It means so much to me.

Thong weather is coming!

NOT!

Imma get one too. Seeing as how thong weather is right around the corner there's not a moment to lose.

please post pictures of Weasey and Hevyn in their thongs!!! oh YESSSSS!

I hit 14 flights of stairs today, because the elevator in the parking garage was broken! only 6, 766 steps, but I will walk the dog tonight and get to more than 7,000.

Hevyn I have the fitbit One like Anvil's. Weasey has the flex bracelet, only difference I think is that it does not count flights of stairs, but it looks cool....if it counted stairs I would buy the violet one.

I think they have everything at Tarjay or Amazon...but I bought mine from QVC.

There'd be too much jealousy.

I seriously do want one. Will look on Amazon.

I do have to make a correction...I have the FitBit FLEX...the wrist thingie. not sure why I thought otherwise. but oh well.

yesterday was a total bust. my insomnia/poor sleep has been cranking up and sunday nite it all went south. I got about two nonconsectutive hours of sleep and then from midnite on it looked like I ran a marathon. add in the time change and I was just fried. I was exhausted all day....stayed home and did the best I could to work from home - I DID get a solid 2 hour nap in but that was it.

last nite I got GOOD sleep. only 43 restless minutes. and some good solid chunks on rest. so i'm back on track. AND the monsoon has ceased! which does wonders for the mood and the inclination to step out of doors. the lake level was so high our dock was floating off it's moorings and we "lost" about 6 feet of lake front - we've never seen the lake THAT high!

here's to a good day FitBit Warriors!

I did some analysis over the last month and can see my patterns.

Monday through Friday I average between 5500 and 6500 steps and between 2 and 3 miles. That's consistent. I think with the nicer weather I will walk the back cove as it's called here in Portland and that's three and a half miles so I should be able to bump that average.

Weekends I go to the gym and stay active with cleaning and errands. I average sat and Sunday between 11500 and 12500 steps and between 5 and 6 miles.

I have had my FB for over a month but just started to really apply myself. So down 7 lbs but feel confident that another 7 in the next two weeks is doable.

And I looked it up.... I am certain the string is to the rear. ;0)

I would love to try Zumba class, and my gym offers one. I am scared to go and look like a dumb a$$ because I don't know what I am doing!

I think the FitBit is awesome. It's really nice your company is promoting health in this way Anvil!

I've been wearing a FitBit Force since November and use it to monitor my activity level on days that I don't run. I find myself taking stairs instead of elevators, and parking further from the building entrance so I can get a few minutes of activity in. I started running last September to help fight urges to drink and so far I've lost 30 pounds and will run my first 5k race next weekend. Not bad for a 55 year-old guy who drank heavily for 34 years.

I have a baby blue fitbit addict sweatshirt hoodie, it is more practical than a thong for working out.
as you can see by the time of day I'm posting, I have sleep issues too.
my sleep has been skewed all week.
I was off from work yesterday, no stairs, but lots of anxiety and busy stuff with contractor and granite guy. And my brother ( who yelled at me). I sent him wrong model numbers on appliances so he could not put in my order to the wholesaler....I conducted all this business while sitting on my ass, but I did get credit for chasing the UPS man and refusing an order he left without knocking! I ordered the wrong size counter stools, but sent them back and got refunded, so its all good....except for lack of moving.
congrats Orni, did the Force model give you a breakout on your wrist? They are refunding everyone and giving them new flexes and premium memberships to track for free.
yes hev, Amazon is the cheapest I think...along with free ship.

I have not had the skin issue reported by some users, so I intend to keep using my Fitbit Force.
By the way, do not underestimate the value of a good exercise thong, I wear mine all the time.

I would think that down the line, they will offer you a big discount on the new Force model that is coming out....because they won't be updating original Force software. This was their premium product, ( lots of Xmas gifts) and they are refunding it, that's a big money issue, but they want to keep up. I remember how clumsy the old stuff was, now I just click the app on my phone.
Hoping for a good busy day at work, it is 720 steps alone from the parking garage to my office.

rebounded nicely yesterday! I somehow got in 8243 steps! and 5 hr 4mins of sleep, with only 22 mins of restless activity...and a nice chunk of dark blue (rest state = sleep) from about 12:30 to 3:30! only people with really s*cky sleep would find that impressive!! right fandy?

go easy on yourself fands....you got a lot going on, your house is in turmoil, your schedule upended. there will be time to get things back on track.

when I started with my naturopath last july and went thru the 6 week metabolic clearing, I lost 20 pounds. which was awesome! however since then, can't seem to coax any more weight off. but conversely, i'm not gaining any BACK either. my diet is pretty clean, but there's certainly room for improvement. I take a 16oz nutriblast shake to work with me each day, usually a hummus and rice crackers or celery sticks, etc, and just got some greek yogurts. drink lots of water. hopefully with the encouragement of the FitBit and finding ways to move more and get in more activity, we'll turn the corner. i'd be delighted with another 10 pounds off.

Kale Salad and smoked whitefish for lunch...an orange, strawberries.

we MUST be twins Anvil....last night I also slept 5 hours and 4 minutes....hmmmm? and yes, I like those big blue patches too! my average sleep for the week was over 6 hours.

I am at work today and have many stairs to climb...I am aiming for 45 flights a week.
this morning I ran around the living room and kitchen with 5 lb. weights for 2 mins. This enabled the "VERY ACTIVE" monitor functionand I did not trip over the cats either.

I think I am the ONLY person in the world that cannot Zumba, I tried it several times and gave my DVDs away.

ok, that's almost creepy!!! so fandy, do you faithfully log your food each day too? I've been hit and miss, but i'm sure that would be helpful.

so how come even tho I DO stairs, it isn't tracking them?
