Actually yes, wehav. But it's even a really long time. I love grilled fruit. I have a big slice of watermelon in the fridge right now. Thanks for the suggestion . That might Be just perfect with our grilled red snapper tonight.

It's such a gray, funky day out. Time for a little hot tub outside before the rain hits.

It's not healthy to suddenly eat fried everything, mac and cheese, and banana pudding in the mid of the day. Then get in a car and drive for 2 hours. Take my advice... don't do it. Still sick after 3 days... watermelon sounds good. And, maybe a tomato or two...

Hey, ya'll!

Dinner was baked red snapper topped with a strawberry/avocado salsa.....OMG! After I licked the plate clean, my H said " I thought you said there was no way you could eat it all." I said " I was full about 12 bites ago."

Just did some bedtime yoga and a guided meditation. No drinking dreams tonight, ok Mr. Sandman??

All is well today.

I had to buy a bunch of take-out chili yesterday in part for dinner and in part for the Spartan Spectacular (a big judging deal with many bands) at my son's school.

Turns out we had a lot left over. I had some for breakfast. I limited myself to a cup (at first it was a generous half-cup, but I couldn't resist, told myself, "Well, it's almost a cup anyway"--so I had a couple extra teaspoons). I managed to limit myself to just that cup by physically removing myself from the area; but I am recognizing that chili is an addiction food for me, just like enchiladas and spaghetti.

When it comes to most foods I am fine with moderate portions--but these foods just make me go insane!

Hey Gilmer....why not eat your spaghetti sauce on spaghetti squash? And eat your enchiladas wrapped in......hmmm.....collard or plantain leaves?? Don't know about that one because I don't like Mexican food. But now chili can also be Paleo as well....Google .....Wait.... My H was successful at making Paleo crepes the other day, so maybe you could Eat your enchiladas in something like that.

Eating on the run is just so difficult when we're trying to eat healthy. I don't eat fast food, but that makes it almost impossible when we are traveling. I did watch an interesting documentary yesterday. For all you peeps that like Mexican food ( which is the entire North American continent I think), the fast food restaurant "Chipotle" ( never been obviously ) is to be commended for NOT using genetically modified food. Their business model and protocol calls for free range and organic everything...... Nice to hear. Wish there were more like that.

I'm just making a roasted chicken today. We are tired of cooking, so this will be easy.

It's the sauce that makes me pig out, not the pasta. Too much pasta fills me up and makes me sick.

Well, today was just a major blowout. I was good with the chili, then went nuts at church with the guest reception table! There was a big basketball tournament at the high school where we meet, and my job during the service was to guard the donuts from the teenagers. HA! What a farce!

Need I say more? I capped the day's disaster off about an hour ago with more chili.

Tomorrow is a new day, thank the Lord!

Hey. Gilmer....I have a vegetarian spaghetti sauce simmering in my slow cooker as I type....all natural, Organic, and whole ingredients. PM me if you want the recipe.

I bought Girl Scout cookies from one of my students....3 boxes ..... They remain unopened in my studio. Tomorrow I will pass them out to my students. Goodbye lovely peanut butter cookies .

BUT...... I'm eating ice cream tonight....fully leaded.....caramel and chocolate on top....Comfort food.....today requires it.

Mecanix. we've been missing you.

Mecanix, good to see you! 17 stone, that's good!

Gilmer, tomorrow is another day. Oh and congrats on 4 months sober, you rock!

Ldt, your ice cream talk is like food porn! Between that and huffing j's chocolates (sees, my hometown faaaavorite) I feel like I need a cold shower lol. Girl Scout cookies just taste like chemicals to me anymore, haven't eaten them in years.

Today's menu, whole30 day 23:
Breakfast: sweet potato hash with 2 eggs on top
Lunch: we were out and I forgot my salad soooo: chipotle bowl with chicken, tomatillo salsa, guacamole, and nothing else. It was very good, actually. J even dug it without the beans and rice and sour cream.
Dinner: BBQ chicken with compliant BBQ sauce I made a couple nights ago, sweet potato fries (baked), and collards with mushrooms.

I hear that only the pork at chipotle is compliant, but I looked up the chicken ingredients and I'm not gonna freak out about it.

Man I feel like it was a feast tonight! Definitely gonna have that meal again. God thing, that BBQ sauce recipe left me with a lot of sauce. Also glad we hiked for two hours today.

Oh! Speaking of the hike, totally off topic but totally cool, we did some birding. And we saw a young bald eagle, a loon in brand new spanking pretty breeding plumage, a hawk carrying prey, all kinds of ducks: including my favorite little buddy the bufflehead! ok no more nerdspeak.

Have a great night everyone!

Good morning all. I'm a new one here so appreciate your input. I'm going with a very strict diet for the next month. I am in the Navy and have a weigh-in coming in April. I am aiming for a ten pound drop by the last week in April. I am going with 3-4 protien shakes a day made with whey and almond milk as well as a multi each morning. I will have a normal meal at night. Sort of a modified warrior diet. I hope you all have a great day.

Well, I've got a challenge ahead of me today! I was up at 4 studying for my Hebrew--the first thing I did before bucking down with my coffee was crack open the refrigerator. I noticed we still had some leftover Texas "All the Way Wet" chili from Hard Times. I spooned 1/2 cup out for myself. Very salty and tasty and spicy. In case you're wondering, "All the way wet" means floating in an ocean of beef kidney suet.

Anyway, between that and a few other things, I had filled up my whole day's allotment of calories before 5 am!

So my challenge is to try to conserve--and drink a bunch of water to fill myself up!

Got to exercise today, too. I'm going back to my old faithful treadmill--I've got to do something solid. This is the first day I'll be back at it since my surgery.

Hey everyone. I've been a lurker here recently. There were so many things I wanted to respond to I just haven't had much time.

Welcome SPM! Very cool you're in the Navy. Do you have to drop those ten pounds to meet a requirement? Will you have (or do you have going on now) some rigorous training coming up? I just ask these to warn you to be careful about not giving yourself enough fuel. Just remember whey protein is a supplement, meaning it is supposed to supplement something you are already getting. It is not a replacement.

Seems like you may be shorting yourself on food, which may not help you're goal. That said, if your evening meal is big enough you may be getting what you need. Its hard to say without knowing more.

IMHO if you want to lose fat, first clean up your diet (we could debate forever what "clean" is though), and then if you still have more to lose, you need to reduce food. For some people (many) just cleaning up is enough to get where they want to be.

Ten pounds in five-ish weeks is very doable.
