4 mile Trail run. Just trying to keep the heart rate down and work on the base.

Santiago,
Glad the injury healed up quick.

40 miles on the bike today. All flat miles down the river trail.

I've been really bad about getting my walks in. But I've been good about doing lots of yoga. On the nights I don't go to class, I do a class from YouTube at home. Can't wait for spring and nice walking weather again.

Road ride for 22 today. Power meter said a pretty decent ride but my legs felt full of lead on the climbs! Too many cookies, sweets and Christmas " sludge" going through the system I think! A couple more weeks then commitment to hit it hard with more restraint to the diet!

Posted this on the 'new' workout thread, but I wanted to make sure Santiago could see I am gearing up for the Iron Horse.

Roads sandy and snowy so I rode the SS mountain bike today on the roads. 13 miles 2,000 feet. Felt really good riding the SS. No pressure for PRs on this route as I have done it a lot. Just kept a moderate heart rate and had a better time than I thought I would on 40psi MTB knobies. I have lost a little since my big ride in July, but feels like the base is still there.

Still fighting plantar fasciitis here. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. No running , spin class hurt also. Getting PT and we wing a podiatrist next week. Everyone is planning there upcoming spring races and I can hardly walk without pain...

Just feeling frustrated...I haven't ran in almost a month. I can swim, but just wallowing in m
y pity party right now. Hope to snap out of it soon.

Crossfit and Spinning today. I had not done any crossfit since last may. Man my core got weak. I need to keep it in the program next year. My cardio was awesome, but lost any range of motion strength.

Repeating my post from the other exercise thread:
48 miles on the road bike today. Average speed was 19mph. Got a couple PR's on Strava for some segments I ride all the time. 26mph on a segment called the 4000 meter. The fastest time a female has ridden this segment was 32mph so I have some work to do to catch her. She's a full minute faster than me. I've come a long way since March when I started riding, and Strava makes me want to keep riding faster and faster.

Tres- sorry for your injury....
Siesta- that is hammering! Nicely done.
VR - ok today went down to my workout room, did some rowing, kettle bell squats, lunges, push-ups, planks, and work on my keiser FT. I agree I have lost a lot of strength but plan to build some of that in during this season of short days.

What is the new thread everyone keeps mentioning?

Thanks siesta. Checked it out a bit....surely a ton of posting from what I saw.
Well today we hit 68 degrees - about 15 above normal average, so I ducked out of work for a 30 mile ride! Beautiful day, but could feel the strength training I did last night!
Trying to grab any moment I can over the next couple weeks as they typically spin a bit out of control with over committing.

Saw the podiatrist and he is very optimistic about me getting back to running. He gave me a steroid injection into my foot. Didn't hurt a bit. He said that should do it. Don't run for a week or so. Also going to the PT. So hope between the two I can hit it.

I am signed up for a half marathon on Feb 2.

Tres- good to hear you should be back at it again soon.

I've been good about doing yoga pretty much every day. Been slacking a bit on my walks, but made it out again yesterday and the day before, although I skipped it again today.

Well, I made it out for a nice walk yesterday and did my yoga and a few pushups as well.

I was in a bad mood and figured that slacking on my exercise wasn't helping. I'm really looking forward to the days getting longer again.

I was really good about getting out and going walking for the first several months after I quit drinking but have been slacking the last month or two. Partly because it's been dark and cold and partly because the PAWS has really eased up and I've felt less of a need to try to do anything possible to feel better emotionally. One of my New Year's resolutions is to get back at it on a regular basis.

Happy New Year to you too IP!!

One of my 2014 goals is to get out and get regular exercise and lots of fresh air.

So far, so good. Did my yoga last night and had a long walk.

Just got my very first road bike. i'm going to aim to do a big ride (125m) in the summer with friends
I did a short 5m ride today to get used to the bike and tomorrow I will go on a 10m ride.
Planning on getting up to 50m rides regularly.

Ok, I'm jumping on this kicking asphalt bandwagon, too! This morning, despite coooold temperatures, I did week 4, day 1 of couch 2 5k and walked a bunch. 4 miles total. My goal is to do something higher cardio 4 times/week and get out and about every day.
