good Morning Heaters,

Woke up at 1.30 am and can't get back to sleep.
Yesterday I was naughty and had a coffee, I am halfway through my 30 days and felt like going to a coffee shop and doing something different. I took some homemade coconut milk and honey. The coconut milk was great in the coffee, way better than cows milk.

The coffee seems to suppress my appetite.
I started the day with the mandatory 2 glasses of water with a squeeze of lemon in my case limes as lemons are not available. After an hour I had 2 bananas and half a fresh pineapple. Snacked on crackers and pesto. Dinner, mango, bananas, 2 custards apples, Dragonfruit and pineapple. The fruit here is sooooo delicious.

Feeling very good mentally, positive and energized. Skin has started to take on the raw food glow, this is not a myth.
Judy you can also grow seeds in trays and harvest the green shoots. In fact if you are finding it difficult to find, perhaps others are as well. Maybe you can start a little business supplying to shops.
It's quite humid here and growing my wheatgrass is not as straightforward. They do better in a cooler climate but they still grow.
Todays exercise early morning walk along the beach with dog who stayed home yesterdayhe wasn't well and grumpy with it so I let him stay home instead of coming to the restaurant to see if he could get over it on his own, when I returned he was his old self.

I will do laps before work as well could help, with the sleeping thing.
Remember Heaters you are what you eat.

I am a big bowl of tropical fruit.

Love
CaiHong

Hi Heaters!! SO true, CaiHong...we ARE what we eat. So tonight I will be grilled trout with asparagus....and guess what? I am going to make that red pepper and mango dressing you suggested to put on top. Since we like a little "heat" on most things, I'll throw in a little jalapeņo.

I watched a scary 14 minute video on the toxic standard American diet.....it was by Alex Jones, on the website infowars.com....I think the title was something like 'Food, the ultimate secret exposed'.....it's worth a look, friends, even if you aren't American. I might not ever drink another diet coke.

Hey, where's InPar?

Hi Heaters.

I'll be out of pocket the next few days. Going to a Jazz Festival in New Orleans. It's a major event, lots of fun, but eating there is always a challenge. N.O. Is a gluttonous paradise, but it's so easy to eat poorly there....especially at the festival itself. We will be stopping at Whole Foods on the way to stock up on as much fresh produce and fruit as possible.

I turned one of my adult students on to the Paleo eating style 3 weeks ago and she just told me that in that time she has lost 10 pounds without even trying. She's now hooked!

Have a great weekend, Heaters!

Here I am! I was on holiday and it was GREAT, just what I needed. I was all alone in a beautiful house on the Okanagan Lake, which is a gorgeous lake in a green valley full of orchards and vineyards (my home) with no internet access and no TV, for ten days! I loved it sooo much, just read and chilled out in the sun.
I ate pretty good, stuck to my diet for the most part, (there was a lemon torte incident) but the main thing is that I QUIT COFFEE, finally, which I have been struggling to do because I know it's been giving me anxiety. So I switched to tea there and stuck to it which was easy because I had zero stress and wasn't surrounded by a million coffee shops. And-I feel great. So much calmer. So glad I did it! And now that I'm used to tea, I really like it! It really is so much more convenient than coffee, and healthier too; I have it with organic raw honey and almond milk and it's really good that way. LDT- shut up.

Cai I just added red pepper and mango to my shopping list-that dressing sounds perfect!

Hello everybody that's new!

Judy you reminded me how much I love sprouts! With avocado is so good. Going to get some today I think.

(BTW-I'm not totally loaded, to be staying in a lake house alone for ten days. It's a friend's summer place, who is extremely generous.)

Hi, healthy eaters.

I'm here, had some ice-cream binge a couple of day ago, but overall I'm fine and stick to my nutrition. I added casein supplement to my regular nutrition because I need more protein due to my intensive workouts, and it's quite hard to have four meals a day loaded with protein, I just can't eat that much)

InPar - vacations on a house on the lake, no internet... Paradise! Glad you had great vacations.

LDT - have Fun and Jazz Festival, it sounds great.

Best wishes to all.

See you later)

Hi and Welcome Triathlynne,

Lovely people on different nutrional paths all here to share our support.
I personally am a vegetarian raw foodist.

Inparticular lovely to have you back, I think I would have suffered more from Internet withdrawals than coffee withdrawals.

LDT a jazz festival in New Orleans, WOW, I really need to visit America.
When I think of those places and gumbo, in the movie Angel Heart one of my all time favourite movies, this guy was pushed into a huge pot of boiling gumbo. I digress.

Midnightblue, I was thinking of adding supplements to my menu and people can order them on request, something I need to look into.
A friend just brought over a kg of nutritional yeast .
yesterday,
Fresh fruit in the morning
I made cauliflower rice, Zuccini hummus and jicama potato salad, I had this with flaxseed crackers and basil pesto.
A strawberry smoothies with fresh coconut milk.
Went out to dinner at this lovely boutique hotels in the middle of the rice foods. Had a big salad, my dog sat next to the kitchen and was lovingly fed scraps.

My dining partners smoked and drank like I used to!!!

I am soooooooo glad I don't want to do that anymore.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Love
CaiHong

Well I haven't gone shopping yet....been a stressful couple of days and I've eaten a little too much junk. I need to throw out my old nutella. I'm addicted to that stuff. I can eat i by the jar load. I do have a bike ride tomorrow with some friends at 8:30am and a 4 mile run on Sunday. I'm pretty active, normally but of course hangovers have gotten in the way of that. I need to buy fruit, salad stuff and some veggies for me to nibble on. Going to try and make my own hummus this weekend too. Thanks everyone for the lovely welcomes.

Pizza is my downfall so I started making my own crust using my bread maker. Whole wheat! Then I portioned it into wee balls making it individual. Nommy. Course I live bacon on it though lol. I gave up soda completely! One if my favourite alcoholic drinks was vodka and diet coke.

Hello all. I am only 5 days sober, and I feel good, but I have been eating terribly. Chili dogs, fried chicken, strombili with cheese and sausage, french fries....I feel like a pig. Part of the reason is because Ive had to stay in hotels due to my situation, but I will have more permanent diggs next week. At that point, I plan on getting on the right track with my eating and exercising.
I just wanted to post here and let everyone know where I am at. Feeling like a oinker, but sober.

I'm so glad to be passed my hormonal low energy days that I had last week, I tend to go crazy with cravings of heavy food for a few days. Now I will work extra hard this week to balance out last week few crazy cravings eating days...Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!..Chow

Gunther,
Congrats on the 5 days sober. How is that going?
I would suggest watching a lot of videos on healthy eating and lifestyle, it really helps to stay a healthy eater. I watched a few yesterday and I am so glad that I now am sober and choose to eat healthily.
One doco was on a program of healthy eating set up in the Marshall islands to reverse the onset of diabetes. Another one was a doctor with MS who through diet was able to reverse the symptoms of her disease.
How crazy we are that we think we can put crap into our bodies and expect to be well.

yesterday was my day off and I took it easy, I had the munchies and must have ate a ton of fresh fruit. In the past when I would feel like this I would eat a ton of junk food and feel sick and annoyed with myself. I had none of those feelings.
For dinner I at ate flaxseed crackers with Zuccini dip. For dessert raw chocolate orange mousse tart.
This week I will concentrate on adding more leafy greens to my diet through smoothies and salads and more cabbage.

Have a good healthy week

CaiHong
