InP - Cool you discovered squash...think that's Tipping's game if I remember right...think he'll be excited that another may get hooked!

Tres - That's AWESOME that you did your swim clss even though you were nervous bout it. Good on you for getting out of your comfort zone.

I did some cleans and snatches...jump rope too.

Hope everyone is well.

Everyone ready for the weekend?

Summer came back here for a couple more days, 21 degrees Celcius today and the weekend looks good also. 45km ride with some climbs after work today, planning something big tomorrow or Sunday.

Good job on the workouts everyone!

Just a quick check-in.... hiked some on Wednesday and just stuck with my strengthening (neck, shoulder) exercises. The physical therapist gave me a stronger band to play with... the orange one was way to easy for me... guess that was good

Write more later... gotta run (well, not really - drive to see my sponsor)...
Later

Squash....huh...you know, I had to stop and think, but I don't even think I've seen it played. Will be googling. Good for you for stepping up and trying something new!

I have seen/had Moosetracks. Bunny Tracks are right up there, too.

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaappy Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekend!

A cold is trying to grab me...and I'm kicking back. One of those things you'e not too sick to be in bed....but you're not well enough to be running around. Off to find the middle ground.

Keep Kickin' it!

Geralt! CCCCCCCCCCCCCONGRATULATIONS! Your journey has been amazing to watch. I love reading that. Listening to the thought process to sobriety, in a way. Congrats!

Yeah squash! Played again last night, for almost two hours! I'm really getting the hang of it and making the bf work! It's awesome.

Planning a run tonight, have to get ready for my big 5k'er next weekend! Ha ha, I've lost all my momentum (effing school) so I'll be walking some I'm sure, but really I'm hoping that the excitement of it will propel me to run the whole thing. It'll be fun running with my family, too! It'll be a very symbolic way to mark the year, because last year at this time I was pretty cut off from my family emotionally and so unhealthy and depressed.

Well have a great weekend everyone! I've got a pretty busy one planned, lots of schoolwork, an interview tomorrow with a young local designer I'm writing a piece on, and dinner tonight with my editor! Wow, I sound so fancy! (I'm not. At all.)

Hey Geralt, serious congrats on the 12 months my friend!

I used to play alot of squash. It was pretty much how I got into running...keep meaning to get back into it.

Just went out for a leisurely 3 miles tonight as I'm starting from scratch (again!). At least I think it was 3 miles. The battery on my Garmin died soon after I set out; irritating at first but in the end quite liberating since I decided to surrender to the experience of the run rather than to the bare stats that "describe" it. Sometimes I think I rely too much on gadgets.

Hope y'all having a great weekend!

Mycoolfitz, good job kicking butt after being down from being sick.

Ultrarunner, welcome back. Hope your eyes get better and good job with the 3 miles.

Tres, I'm a chocoholic too. Got to have at least a little every day. Of course though I make sure I keep oatmeal, pancakes, tuna, eggs, egg whites, chicken, pasta, salad, apple, banana, yogurt....in my diet to make sure I balance it with some healthy foods.

Ghostly, good job with the kettle bells, chins, rings...

Inparticular, good job discovering squash and having fun with it.

Geralt, good job with the 45 km ride.

R4R, good job with the hike and neck exercises.

Coffeenut, oh heavens. I hope you don't get a cold.

Thurs evening: Jogged on tm for 10 min. Stationary bike for 10 min. Stretched for 15 min. Would like to go outside to do cardio on evenings. But it gets too dark early now compared to Summer.

Hey everyone, I survived another tri this morning!

Up at 0410...wow! I had a tough time on the swim. Bigger waves and lots of people. I had to breast stroke and get on my back too. My anxiety really kicks in during that swim. My time was not good...but I didn't stop. The 10 mile bike was windy too. I felt like I was doing better than last, but not sure if I did. The run was so so. My entire race time was. 1.32.something. I seem to just have one pace throughout the whole thing...can't seem to make my legs go faster...frustrating.

My new tri group I joined were all very nice. Some newbies and some very seasoned triathletes. Good people to be around.

Now I need to look for my next race.

Would someone please post a link on the thread 'working out' to get to this one? Someone has asked for it...and well, the best I can do is to ask you all.

Nice work, Tres!

Day of running today...errands, cleaning, laundry, etc...

I'm pooped.

I wasn't thrilled about my over all race yesterday, but after looking at my splits closer I did take three minutes off my 5k time. So that's a plus!

Going to spin at 0515....that's early!

Ok, so I seriously am ticked... wrote a whole bunch of fun stuff and gone with a single finger misstep

Oh well, hi and walked a little and did my neck shoulder exercises.

Out of town - and had a headache most of the day from my pain in the neck... literally...
Getting up early this week - each day a little earlier to prepare myself for getting up at 4am next week to be at the rec center by 5am. Oh boy

Coffee... yeah, why does the moose get all the credit?? What about squirrel tracks or deer tracks???

Oh and Geralt... if I forgot to tell you congratulations, CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR YEAR!!! If I didn't forget, then disregard previous notice. My brain doesn't seem to be functioning all that great these days...

Ok, bye.

Gorgeous day in Toronto...so warm for the time of year...the leaves are all coming down too. I went out and did another run - 10km this time. Again, it felt pretty good. I left the Garmin at home again and just ran. I took my iPod though and grooved to some tunes. I have no idea if I was fast or slow, but until I build up some endurance it really doesn't matter and I really don't care. The biggest thing right now is just making sure that the hip issue doesn't flare up again...so far so good!

Congratulations on the Tri Tres!

The Giants are up 5-0!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I only managed two three-mile runs but my legs are feeling it today as I'm starting from scratch. I've programmed my Garmin for a target mileage of 25 this week...am now starting to think that was optimistic.

Best things about sobriety (1): waking up as opposed to "coming round".

Will check in later to see how you're all doing....

So true Ultrarunner.....coming around...usually about 2pm..LOL.

I woke up before the alarm today...0440! I went to spin class. 45 minutes with no breaks and minimal recovery. It was a great class. I was dripping sweat all over the floor...my heart was cranking.

Had a great day after that. Such a better mindset after a workout.

Ultra - real nice to see you back here again. We missed you.

Take it slow. Don't risk an injury just to hit your mileage goal.

I'm committed to not running on back to back days and not pushing too hard. My only goal right now is to run without pain. I tell you though, the weather has been so nice here that it is hard!

Good morning all!

Really busy with one job during the weekend, now back to the mail delivery today. Still managed a 40km night ride Saturday, 20km Sunday and 80km yesterday with a lot of climbing.

@Tres congrats on the tri and the PR on 5k. You rock!

Thanks for the double congrats R4R
