Judy--I forgot to mention--sorry about your dad. I'm in a similar situation with my mother. And I also don't like the holiday season, due to various issues while growing up. I'd be fine with the going to sleep and waking up on Jan 2nd.
Luckily, for me, my job is shaping up to be really crazy from now to the end of December so that will help. But, anyway, my thoughts are with you.

Ghostly, good job with the push ups, pull ups...

Inparticular, no I didn't quite have that hat from that video. I just enjoy taking a time machine back in time to listen to those catchy songs that were going on when I was younger. Glad you enjoyed it.

Tres, yes it is funny how hearing a song can take you back to a certain age and different era. Better yet I can reflect and feel all those deep emotions from those songs that makes up our human condition and not pick up a drink.

R4R, good job with the 5 miles.

JJay, good decision taking a day off to recover.

Mycoolfitz, hope you feel better.

Jamdls, good job with working out 5 days a week. Hang in there with that stress. Sorry to hear about your dad.

Runningman, good job with the 7 mile run.

Panacea, good luck with the Turkey Trot on Thursday.

Tippingpoint, got a kick out of that duel you had with that other runner.

Sunday morning workout: Stationary bike for 5 min.
Squats: 135 lbs x 5 reps, 225 x 5, 315 x 5.
Supersetted leg ext, leg curls, seated calf raises, weighted hyperextensions, stability ball crunches. Stretched for 15 min.

Tuesday evening workout: Jogged on tm for 5 min.
Bench press: 135 lbs x 8 reps, 225 x 5, 265 x 8.
Close grip bench press: 265 x 6, 265 x 5.
Lat pull downs, barbell bicep curls, concentration curls, tricep push downs, hanging leg raises, stretched for 15 min.

Just saw my foot and ankle doc for my 6 week reck of my metatarsal stress fracture...bad news - no turkey trot for me and I am relegated back to the elliptical due to some cast related complications now in my ankle....crud. She injected the joint (ouch) and said no running but I can walk. Youth/health is wasted on the young...feeling somewhat sorry for myself tonight, but will take it out on the exercise equipment tomorrow.

Samwitch - I have a treadmill (and now an elliptical) at home - love both...as I often need to exercise past dark due my crazy schedule. Definitely worth it if you have the space and can swing it.

IP - hang in there - you must be close to or in finals from the sound of it. Good luck with the work.

Tres - hope you are feeling better soon.

TP - your story made me laugh. Living vicariously through your posts!

Take care all - Pan

Uncle - Seriously?!??!? You have no response to my jab at the video you posted??!!?!?!? Okay...taking the high road again.

I did some cleans and a few other things.

I ate 2 solid meals in a row since the last 3 weeks. Can't wait to get out and at least walk a bit. Bed ridden sucks.

Did my three - down to 10:05/mile. Kinda proud of it. Thinking I'm doing a 4-mile run tomorrow morning for the homeless.

Sorry so many of you are sick or just not feeling well. My prayers are with you - I'm soooo glad we're together. You make me feel alive and worth it when I really don't feel either sometimes. Love you all. Rock the Turkey

Just finished up back/bis/chest. Skipped cardio today. I figure it's a semi-holiday and I could slack a tiny bit

The gym is open til noon tomorrow so if I get a good night sleep I'll be there bright and early.

Hey everyone, I did a nice run yesterday in my little hometown. Its so small that I actually ran out of the town literally! Passed the city limit sign. It wasn't too far. I need to drive it with the car, because I couldn't get my GPS to work on my phone out here in the middle of Kansas! It felt good to see all the prairie and feel like I was in the middle of no where.

Today I drove 40 minutes to a YMCA. I needed more exercise! I did an hour long class called Fierce. It was tough. Lots of plyometrics, lunges, squats, with a weighted bar. Then bursts of cardio mixed in between. I ran into my cousin at the same class! We had no idea the other was going to be there...funny how things work. So we worked out together side by side. It was nice. She is in great shape!

After the class I swam laps for 20 minutes. Their facility is awesome! It is the nicest place I have ever worked out in. Its just 5 yrs old.

Rest day tomorrow and turkey time!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Nice Tres... way to get 'ran out of town' hehehe.

Off to do a 4-mile run for the homeless. Very sore calves and all... yep the 700 step thing did actually catch up with me. Did 3 miles yesterday though.

Happy Thanksgiving - I am so very thankful for each and everyone of you for your love, your support, and your kicks in the butt every once ina while. Love.

Welcome RunningMan...to the Best forum on SR.

Thanksgiving. And I want to give thanks for this forum. It's so hard in this internet world to find a place to 'fit in'. I so appreciate the blending of personalities to the good of the cause.

We are all here, because we want to be sober....and strong to a certain extent.

So, this Thanksgiving, I give Thanks to this forum.

Did my second 10k ever. Normally when I run its a mile or less, and almost never more than two. Kept my miles under nine minutes today. Was pleased with this. Also got some walking in.

Hope everyone is well.

Hi folks-

Thought I'd post something about exercise, I think I've been posting about everything but that :-)

6 lovely miles today--great relaxing run. Nice and tired now. Spent Thanksgiving alone for the first time ever, and really enjoyed it. Weird, I know.

JJay--I'm surprised the gym was so packed this morning, maybe they need to be open all day on Thanksgiving. Though I'm sure the people who work there wouldn't want that.

Ghostly--nice job on the 10k. Sub nines are my goal for a 10k

The three gyms I've been to on Thanksgiving were all only open til noon and each one was packed. I guess if you only give people a small window they've gotta take advantage of it.

Happy Thursday/Thanksgiving (for the Americanly inclined).

Against the doc's orders - I ran the 8K Turkey Trot -- couldn't help myself, I went to cheer and walk and ended up running (and not feeling so terrible, although my time was! 54 minutes and change). It was wonderful. What a difference 83 days can make - last year, I couldn't run the race as I had a paralyzingly painful hangover.

I hope everyone is well tonight - looking forward to tomorrow and the day off from work.

TC Pan

Got out for a few miles with the Hubby while the turkey was cooking. And got to wear shorts....in November. Mild, mild weather here.

Mycoolfitz, hope you get well so you can get out there again.

Tres, that's neat you're from a small town in Kansas and now a busy bee in Florida. Hope all goes well with your visit back home in Kansas. Good job with the run and the ymca.

R4R, good job with the 4 mile run, 700 steps, 3 miles.

Samwitch, good job with those 6 lovely miles. And good job enjoying your own company and being okay with Thanksgiving by yourself.

JJay, good job getting that workout in the packed gym. I now get my workouts in alone in my basement, but do recall packed gyms on holidays when I used to go to gyms. Good to know there's many like us who have to get our workouts in.

Panacea, good job getting that Turkey Trot in.

Coffeenut, good job with the few miles with hubby.

Thanksgiving morning: Jogged on tm for 5 min.
Partial deadlifts: Put boards and matts under weights about 4 inches high. 135 lbs x 5 reps, 225 x 5, 315 x 5, 385 x 3, 405 x 3. Put the power belt on.

Stiff leg deadlifts. No belt. Knees slightly bent. 275 x 8.

Supersetted shoulder presses, front/side/rear delt raises, barbell shrugs, weighted stability ball crunches. Stretched for 15 min.

Went to my sister's for Thanksgiving with other family members. Watched the Lions lose in overtime. All went well. Ate some hors d'oeuvres and turkey plate later on. Everyone there pretty much drinks but me. And that's okay. As long as I don't drink is what counts.

Hope everyone's Thanksgiving went well and love you all too.

I am so sore from that YMCA class! I feel like I am 100 years old!

I need a good dose of walking and stretching.

I am thankful for all of you and SR. This was my second sober thanksgiving. It was fabulous.

Hello, lovelies

Sorry about the long absence. Things are in full swing here: pebbles are being kicked, bikes being ridden (well, not yesterday - we had 65mph headwinds along the coast. Sixty-five miles per hour!! I chickened out. I am not ashamed).

I've started playing badminton again for the first time since I was a kid - awesome fun - and even persuaded Mr Stillsleeping to play. He turned out to be amazingly agile and fit for a smoking couch potato, the *******. Haha! I mean, I beat him, but wow he can reach.

You know what, though? I miss my pilates class. It's just not the same, doing it yourself. (snigger)

Right, the tortoise is staring at me. Later, Kickers!

Pebbles xxx
