Hi Everyone,

It sounds like you all are keeping busy! Great job! Just did a 20 mile ride. Hadn't been on the bike in over a week (out of town), so it's good to be back. Keep it up!

I bought a bike today! It is an old Miele mountain bike; it's nice and light and super comfy to ride. I love it---oh and it's PINK! I'm not normally a pink kind of gal but it's tres retro- I'll look stylin' riding to school. I'm really looking forward to not having to take the frigging bus as much. Grrrrrr. I love the sense of freedom that biking gives. I know you guys know what I'm talking about.
Went for a run this morning, did 30 mins, it definitely wasn't a champion day but I still felt like a million bucks afterwards.
The natural high I get after a run is becoming addictive. Finally, a vice that's not going to kill me

Bitter sweet day. Another older gentleman that I love and highly respect, family friend for many many years suffered a massive stroke Friday night. He became kind of a father figure for us when my Dad died. Not related but he is one of the pillars of our famil. In a comma with both sides of the brain gone. Kept him on life support until all the family could gather last night. Machines were to be turned off at 10 PM. Funeral most likely Tuesday.

I have a huge commitment in my office with a very tight deadline (Monday 10 AM). Been working around the clock on it all week. Put in a 14+ hour day yesterday and back at it again today (Yep, on Father's day Sunday). I wanted to, but could not grieve for Mike yesterday. Had to stay focused on the project. I did today. Climbed a hill at sunrise. A real hill. My thoughts were on nothing but Mike and my Dad for the hour. I'm glad I was able to shed a few tears for both.

Thank you all..... TdC.

Tom, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, and glad that you were able to spend some real time by yourself for them. xxx

Really, it's so good to have you back girl - you'll be up to speed before you know it. Well done!

My run yesterday was crazy! The storms we had on Saturday whipped up a LOT of foam, which then either dried on the stones in a dirty kind of slime, or congealed in huge, blancmange-like aliens all over the beach. Gross. And it stank. And it was slippery. I was slimed to my knees by the time I got back, but my run kicked ASS, especially the laps at the end - I decided to shake it up, and instead of going for a high number, see how fast I could do it. So I powered up the slope and still matched my highest number. Woop Woop!! Plus the pushups each time at the top. I'm a machine!

Love you all

Pebbles

Uncle - nice jogging and as always an impressive workout

Ghost - congrats on your PR and nice mowing. Which reminds me - I have to do some as well.

Tom - sorry for your loss. Good job with the hill climb.

R4R - good to see you back kicking some asphalt

Pebbles - nice run on the beach

Saturday 26 km bike ride. Beautiful weather so took a book and took a break to read it on the beach. Very pleasant.

Weekly walking total - 46 km
Bicycle challenge - 205/1000 km

Good job everyone!

I'm back on my schedule... cross-training today at lunch. Probably elliptical for 20 minutes then some upper body dumbbell sets.

Have a great day!

Nice R4R.

Piotr I love how you combine your rides with relaxing. It sounds like you've got a good balance going on.

Sleeping your run sounds awesome! I love getting dirty, it's so bad ass, haha. You are lucky to live so close to a beach. There's a beach near here too but a bit too far to run to, and I don't like to drive and find parking etc. And then it's just a promenade along a sandy beach, not anything as hardcore as what it sounds like you have! Good for you for putting it to good use.

Today was my run day and I almost didn't go but then I kicked my butt out the damn door. It was a good one, sunny and windy which is RARE for here. Enjoyed it. The hill gave me a bit of trouble but I made it to the top without stopping and that's all I care about. I'm taking my new bike on its maiden voyage tonight, can't wait!

Have a great day everyone!

Thanks, Particular We're so close we can hear the waves at night, it's AWESOME. I'm from the Midlands originally, so I never get tired of it. Just got back from our after dinner walk along the waterfront, ready for bed. Good Pilates workout this morning.

Sleep well y'all!

Pebbles xx

Did my 20 on the elliptical at lunch -- plus 3 sets of 12 with the weights for my arms.

Feeling really tired again... this too shall pass

Ok...so had to run to the store. Its night here, and hot...yet it didn't deter me. I literally decided to run to the store...and back. Not sure how far it is, but gotta guess at least a mile total? Probably wouldn't of done that a few months ago. Might sound stupid, but it was so liberating to do that. Ok...just had to share.

Well, welcome to the crazy nightly work-out club then Ghostly!

Almost the same here. Had 2 rest days in a row and didn't do much Monday either, except for a 45 minute bike ride and 50 sit-ups. Manned up just before midnight and did a 10 minute warm-up, 25 minute GSP Core Conditioning & Abdominal Strength work-out and a stretch/cooldown.

Respect for your friend Tom. My thoughts are with you.

Good to see you back and running R4R!

Piotr that bike challenge is going really well, 200 km already, nice job!

Congrats on your new bike, Inparticular, how was the first ride?

Pebbles, uncle, coffee and samwitch, good job with your workouts.

Have to run, busiest day at work today! And yes yes yes it's finally sunny here!

Ghost-A spontaneous night run- I love it!

The bike ride was lovely; rode along a popular city bike lane for awhile then cut down and along the water back home, it was about 45 minutes and a nice little workout before dinner. Is nice to have something active that me and my bf can do together.

My exercise today will be mowing a rather large lawn with a little push mower. Good times!
