Unc... hot sauce on popcorn sounds fabulous! Ever been to Quaker Steak and Lube?? I get the suicide wings... tried the atomic once - had about three of them. Mistake was that I ate them first and then couldn't taste ANYTHING afterwards. Now they have triple atomic... not sure why anyone would want to go quite that far!

Have a nice day everyone!

Lilac: I think there were tumbleweeds blowing across most (a lot?!) of the country yesterday. We finished some painting and Bam! Glad the painting got done when it did!

Tom: Yep, having your girls all together for a few hours would totally be worth the trip.
And that pic....yeah, really puts things in perspective, doesn't it?

Ghost: I'm with you....the only place I want hot sauce is on a Bleu Cheese Burger...and then with a huge pile of grilled onions.

R4R: I'm not serious. I'd LOVE to do it, it's on the bucket list. But my list right now is too long to train for anything. You'll have to let us know how pilates goes. Never done that, but hear good things!

Tres: Family stuff is so stressful. Keep you and your hubby safe.

Uncle: Your hot sauce story started my day with a RRRRRRRROFL! THANKS! I can almost see you gasping....and reaching for more! Too fun!

I know everyone doesn't love this time change, but I sure do. Gives me plenty of time for a run after work. Darker than dark right now....and I'm sure there are those that would rather be out there now.

Rest day yesterday (is painting cross training?). I'll hit it tonight.

Have a GREAT Monday, friends!

Hi R4R! I see you're here, too! Good Morning!

Coffee, HI! By the time I got back here after the March thread - you were gone... you are quick! Oh my gosh, a bleu cheese burger -- my mouth is watering. Haven't had red meat / white flour / dairy for almost three weeks... ho-hum....

This was disgusting.
Have to agree with Ghosty, hot sauce on popcorn!?!?!?! I love popcorn and hot sauce is good on somethings but NOT together! Seems like it would make the popcorn soggy and the textures just wouldn't mix for me. I actually bought some hot sauce (mild) this weekend, hadn't had any in at least a year but I had a craving for bacon/cheese/pepper quesadillas and they need hot sauce.

Everyone's workouts sound great, I may get back in to the gym this evening unless I come up with an excuse not to before then...

Have a great day all.

I can see it on plain popcorn... because I've seen 'hot' or spicy popcorn around here and it's pretty good!

No excuses, Judy Well, there are plenty out there, but step away from the excuses....

Nice pic, Tip!

^ I think this is so logical and irrefutable that it is not even an opinion anymore that popcorn and hot sauce together are gross...it is actually a fact. So, if you people want to be gross, that is fine, but please don't act like it is normal to eat those together.

Hope everyone is well.

Just got back from soccer practice. I feel like cr*p, mentally of course. My endurance has improved, my weight is down more than 10kg from last year, my cardio is better and yet every training I play worse. Wrong timing, wrong decisions and my shot and passing are at all time low.

Could it be that my coordination has to adapt from the weight loss and quitting alcohol? Or could it just be mentally?

It's good to see that our Kicking Asphalt group has picked the pace, some nice workouts. Well almost midnight here, off to bed, tomorrow is another day!

Nice picture Tip!

My workout today was at a water park with my daughter. I must have climbed hundreds of steps up to the huge slides. We had a blast. I am exhausted. Its nice that our daughter is still in the stage that she thinks we are cool and fun. I know that will end someday...so I am enjoying it while I can.

Now, Ghost.... WHAT exactly is 'normal' with us???

Pilates was a bust... just a lot of stretching exercises. Even though I'm a little chunky right now, I'm still pretty limber - so it didn't so much except let me meet a few people I didn't know. Next week the instructor will be back.... so I'll see the real deal!

Going for my 3 miles tonight.

Have a great day all!

R4R: Dang on the Pilates. Like you said, when the instructor comes back....it may get better. Your new eating habits are Commendable! Wow!

Tipping: Another nice pic. Thanks!

Judy: Well, did the gym win?

Ghost: Sounds like your gearing up to where you were in fitness? Like, you're wanting it more? Makes no sense, I know....but you just sound Good!

Geralt: I don't know the answer to your question. I do know, the mental part of Anything, kicks my butt every time. You'll get there!

Tres: Aww! Beautiful moments. I know you enjoy each and every one of them. Awesome!

3 mile walk w/hubby last night. I'll run tonight, the weather is so nice. When are the blizzards going to hit?!

Have a GREAT Tuesday!

Slacking again exercise wise.

Sunday 30 min. of stretching.
Nice longish 9 km walk.

Today: early gym session.
elliptical 3 km - 26 min
shoulder press 27 kg x 28
seated row 36 kg x 52
ab crunch 59 kg x 60
arm curl 36 kg x 20
back extension 73 kg x 30
bicycle 6 km - 10 min

Off to group therapy shortly. I still have to do my homework

Ohhh and a disappointing weekly walking distance of 32 km for last week.

Good morning gang! Happy Tuesday. Very stormy night and morning here, lots of thunder tons of rain I LOVE it! Made for great sleeping last night and for some odd reason really heavy rain (not just the little shower type junk) makes me happy.

Ghosty-you do sound good and you make me laugh!
Geralt-Hope you have a better mental health day today
Tres-How fun to go to the water park w/daughter that would definetly be a good workout
R4R-In my experience Pilates is mostly a lot of stretching a lot like yoga only more difficult
Coffee-Nice walking w/hubby almost makes me wish I had 1 of those so I'd have someone to walk with but then he'd probably want to come home with me and that just wouldn't work.....
PIOTR-Doesn't sound like your slacking at all, good workout!

I DID get to the gym last night, even though the storms we're supposed to move in between 4 and 8pm I just decided I had to workout and since the gym is only .2 mile from my house I didn't think that was a good excuse....turns out the rain didn't get to my house until after 6pm. Did 25 min elip and 20 min weights/planks/balance ball crunches....I'm thinking about joining a different gym as I'm just bored with the same ole place/people. There are 4 gyms that I know of within 3-4 miles of my house so I'm going to start checking them out, my current 1 is the cheapest and closest but it's just gotten old.

Have a great day all!

Yep, I remember when I was still my kid's hero, Tres. Enjoy it.

Sound like you are now getting the storm that passed through here a few days ago Judy.

Hope you can get your runs in Coffee and R4R. I've been rained out for the past 3 mornings, so I just had to do it today. 20 mile time trial on the bike followed by very intense 20 minutes upper body at the gym. Big weights, working to failure, little rest between sets. Working my shoulders this time with pressing exercises.

It is always very windy there being open to the bay, so I do 18 to 20 MPH (32 KPH) on the wind side and cruise at around 23 to 25 (40 KPH) on the other side. I have done in in 59 minutes +/- but it is usually around 62 to 65 depending on the wind.

On my 20 milers I do from my house to the lake and back I can be anywhere from 74 to 76 minutes. I used to do it in less but I really have slowed down because of the number of pedestrians on the frontage road around the lake. On the way back it is mostly up hill, and they have added a couple of stop signs on the way back to my house and I do stop at all of them.

Great day everyone..... TdC.

Rest day for me. I didn't plan it that way, but I completely ran out of steam around 2pm. I had my swim bag packed and ready to go. I feel completely wiped out from the water park. All that sun and fresh air for 6 hours just about did me in.

I thought I better listen to my body and take a break. Plus I still have my in laws here at our house and I feel a little off my routine. It will all fall into place, they leave on Saturday,

TomD, thanks for the times on the biking. I really have no idea how I am riding. I need to get one of those computers for my bike.

Giving a big shout out to everyone else, glad to see everyone kickin A.

Tom, habanero sauce it is! Thanks for the reminder. I'm going to buy some more tabasco habanero sauce this weekend to add to my hot sauce collection. But I've got something in my fridge right now that beats that. Buffalo Wild Wings Blazin sauce. There's 200,000 - 350,000 scoville units in it. Everytime I go to Buffalo Wild Wings I get 6 blazin wings and 6 parmesan garlic wings with fries. I can finish all 6 blazin wings, but it takes a while. Most people can't finish 6 blazin.

Good job with the 20 mile ride and the BIG WEIGHTS at the gym! Any way you cut it, it's better to be strong than not strong.

R4R, never been to Quaker steak and lube. Sounds like their hottest sauce is similar to blazin. Good job with the 3 miles. You're in my thoughts with your step mother and biological mother situation and hope it somehow works out.

Coffeenut, good job with the painting and 3 mile walk with hubby.

Ghostly, good job with the jump rope, lunges...

Tippingpoint, nice picture of Toronto Harbour.

Geralt, hang in there with the soccer. At least you're out there and in better shape than before.

Tres, I used to have a blast with my two sons and wife at waterparks when they were younger. When we were in Florida, we went to Wet n Wild and Blizzard Beach outdoor waterparks. Blizzard Beach is the best outdoor one I've been to. Kalahari in Ohio is the best indoor one I've been to. Either way, we always had a blast. And the whole time I thought exactly like you - that someday they're not going to want to go to waterparks anymore. And it only happened cause I was sober.

Piotr, good job with the stretching, shoulders, back, arms. How is that new group therapy going?

Jamdls, I worry about you with all those huge tornadoes down in that region. Not sure if you're in that path, but if you are be careful. Good job getting to the gym despite the weather.

Went out to a good Italian restaurant on Mon night to celebrate my wife's birthday with just me and her. I read somewhere that people who suffer hot sauce cravings may be lacking essential fatty acids. So I made sure I dunked my bread in the olive oil that they served with it and ordered Atlantic Salmon. It was delicious. I haven't had oily fish like salmon in years. And presto! After dinner I actually felt relief from hot sauce cravings! I'm going to start eating salmon every week.

Also read that chocolate cravings mean you need magnesium. So eat raw nuts and seeds, legumes, fruits.

Bread cravings mean you need nitrogen. So eat high protein foods: fish, meat, nuts, beans.

Alcohol, recreational drug cravings mean your body wants protein. So eat meat, poultry, seafood, dairy, nuts.

Salty foods, you need chloride. So eat raw goat milk, fish, unrefined sea salt.

Coffee or tea? You want phosphorus. So eat chicken, beef, liver, poultry, fish, eggs, dairy, nuts, legumes.

Tuesday evening I deadlifted 405 x 3 reps in partials, lats, shrugs, shoulders, abs, stretching.

Hush your mouth, Coffee... no blizzards allowed!!! Yeah, it's going to be 80 here today. Brutal for a late afternoon run... but not impossible. Glad you said 'eating habits'... I said I was on a healthy eating kick to one of my friends and she corrected me and said that I was on a healthy eating 'lifestyle'. No more 'kicks'....

Hey... Piotr... you did something - that counts Have a great day!

Glad you could get to the gym Judy... must be feeling better???

Some days you just have to listen to your body, Tres

Unc... thanks... also nice post about the cravings... going to print that out!

Hi Ghost, Top, Tip, Lilac, Logical... anyone else that my still sleeping mind can't remember!!

Three weeks today.... YEA!!!!!

Piotr: Slacking occasionally is okay. I think it goes with the territory.

Judy: I LOVE thunderstorms, too! Used to drive my kids nuts!

And, RRRRRRRRROFL on the hubby comment! I'm very fortunate and got a good one...it's fun to keep him around, gives me someone to torture.

Tom: Glad you got out there. I always think in your area, there would never be a weather problem.

Tres: Yep, your body was telling you it needed a break....glad you were listening.

Uncle: Your cravings list was very interesting! Thanks! And....while I don't do hot wings, I do like parmesian garlic...dipped in bleu cheese...mmmmm!

Ghost: Thanks for peeking in. Hope you got some good rest!

R4R: 80 this time of year just seems so much more doable than 80 in July...why is that? 3 weeks is awesome. You can do this, you know. One moment at a time...sometimes one breath at a time.....will give you a lifetime! Glad you are here.

7 miles for me last night. Another nice day so I want to hit it again. Love Springtime!

Have a GREAT Wednesday, all!

Good morning KA crew! Happy hump day! It's an absolutely gorgeous day here after the heavy rains everything just looks so clean and bright I love it! Tom, thanks for sending the rain we need all we can get cause come summer we'll likely be dry as a bone.

Uncle, I've never seen a tornado here as they seem to be in more rural areas and I'm basically in the city but a tornado did hit downtown Ft Worth (about 50 miles from me) about 10 yrs ago so it could happen. I always have my deep claw foot bathtub to hide in if 1 gets near....
Great craving info, txs that's good to know. Oily fish is good for you in many areas so you should eat it, I do at least weekly.

R4R-Yeah on 3 weeks!! 80 deg is my perfect temp I only like temps between 70 and 80 anything hotter or colder sucks to me...yeah I'm picky...

Coffee: Nice 7 miles! Yes you are fortunate that you "got a good one" but he's even more fortunate.

Cardio night last night 30 min elip and 25 bicycle, that's 2 nights in a row hopefully I'm getting "my groove back"

Have a great Wednesday all and keep on kicken it!
