I will post pictures tomorrow..I don't have a home computer so can't do it on weekends.

Did a two hour walk today...no idea on distance because part was with a friend who was pushing twin 18 month olds. Got caught in the rain...thought about running but decided to stick with the plan. Also walled to Church this Morning..maybe half a mile each way?

Murray is actually at 9.5 months...don't sell yourself short dude

Hey Femme, I don't know what phone you have but I just downloaded imapmyride for free for my Blackberry. I don't have a GPS option on my account but it works without it anyway.

Register, downloaded it, install it and then when you start your walk or run just turn it on and it tacks your path. When you finish, it will tell you how many miles, speed, pace etc. I finished a bike ride. It asked me if I wanted to save the course and by the time I went inside, it showed up on the mapmyride web page complete with full statistics and a map of what I just did.

The only thing I don't like is that it does take battery life cause it is tracking the entire time, so now I know to boost up the battery when I do use it. It probably also uses data time, but in my case I have unlimited data so it makes no difference.

I checked it against my Garmin and they were both within feet of each other on a 20 mile bike ride.

Nope, Top - painting interior.... sorry to get your hopes up

LF - I bulked up in my early twenties - mostly legs... one of my friends says I have Popeye legs. She's right, my calves and the front muscle (guess it's the tibialis anterior muscle) - they are huge! Probably why I don't ever get shinsplints But I was doing weights heavier and heavier -- sort of competing against other women in the gym at the time. Wish I wouldn't have now, but I can't complain about not having leg strength!
Performing stretches and exercises for your knee isn't going to bulk you up, but it may give some definition to the muscles.

Now... I got a new toy... I got a new toy Guess what it is??? Give up??? Huh??
Ok, it's a Garmin Forefunner 405 Couldn't help myself - it was soooo on sale - 146 w/tax - (because they're anticipating the 505 to be out this year). I'm excited about taking it out for a foot pounding exercise - better known as a run

Anywho... broke my none sweet diet today... had to bite the ears off a bunny
... and the legs and the torso... and ate some eggs.. kind of don't feel very good right now... guess there are worse things to overdo it on

Have a wonderful night and start of the week!

Ohhhh... and MGF - awesome on the steps! I really like steps and miss them - would prefer them over hills. Come to think of it, I think there is a trail around here that has quite a few steps... now if I can just remember where

Murray, it is a good feeling to conquer those hills like they're nothing when they used to look larger than life! Great job!

Hope you feeling tip-top soon Nogard!

R4R: Good job scoring a fun toy! I don't know what I"d do w/o my Garmin.

Tom: Glad you made it back. Don't know what I'd do if I couldn't log in here. First it kept me sober, now it keeps me sane (believe it or not!).

Murray: Look at that sober time! Awesome!

NoGard: Glad you are feeling better!

And I thought you were going to say a paint spray gun and compressor.... I think I mentioned this a few months back here but I love Sporttracks. It is so much better than the stuff you get with the Garmin (Training Center). You can download the free version at:

zonefivesoftware.com/sporttracks/SportTracks

Recently I started using ridewithgps.com to map and design routes for biking but it should be suitable for running.

Enjoy.

Good Monday morning all.

LF: From what I understand, it is pretty difficult for a woman to get that bulky look. I've been doing weights for years and I am not bulky. You'll probably get some definition and lose some body fat, because the more muscle you build, the more fat you burn.

Another tornado came through the other night. Lots of houses destroyed. And the airport is messed up. As far as I can tell, everyone I know is okay. Rain rain and more rain though. Hid eggs in the rain yesterday. Kind of fun.

Well, that's all I've got for now. I need to catch up on this thread. My phone is getting more and more messed up. My contract is up in one month, then I will get a new one.

Thanks for all the information...I am paranoid about getting bulky, because despite all the exercise I am doing I am not losing weight and not really losing inches either...my calf muscles are also already bigger than I would like

DB...glad you are safe.

OK here are some pictures from my route:

Great energy in here, keep it up team.

Well I can't believe it but another race this Sunday, the innaugural Gettysburg Marathon. I'm excited to run a course with no hills!

Left knee stiill a bit sore from my HIT routine on Sunday, I still managed to get the steps in this am and had a perfect ride in today with no wing, warm temps, and wet streets from a big strom that came though.

EDIT: DB, hope you are safe after the stroms.

EDIT II: LF, wow those pics are amazing!!!!

Nice pictures Ms.Femme..... looks like a nice place to raise two dogs.

20 mile bike ride for me first thing this morning. Just trying to maintain my fitness level.... All systems are "go" except for my car that would not start this morning. Luckily we have an extra vehicle at home, but still threw my whole schedule off.

Happy Monday gang! Hope everyone had a good weekend and a good Easter if you were so inclined. My daughter and family came over yesterday so I had a great time with my 2 grandsons, I bought Easter eggs filled with confetti that cracked real easy...and eggs with playdoh inside and just a couple with candy...was messy but lots of fun! I bought an angel food cake for our dessert so I also broke my no sugar routine, and woke up this morning sick to my stomach...kind of think there's a connection there.. Worked in the yard for a couple hours Saturday then again on Sunday because there was another bad storm Sat night so had to clean up before the boys came over then there was another storm last night and another expected today/tonight... So anywho haven't been to the gym since Thursday and not sure if I'll go tonight since I feel like cr*p but I'll get back to it.

Keep on kicken it ya'll!

R4R - Good to hear from you. Glad you're doin well. Also glad you let yourself buy a toy! You seem really happy bout it. Good for you.

I LOVE those pics LF. So jealous. Looks so relaxing there. Beautiful.

DB - Yeah the weather has been crazy. Glad you're ok.

Grand - Good luck on the race. I think all the steps you've been doin will help you.

Nice ridin Tom. My truck wouldn't start this morning, but I knew it wouldn't and had the jumper ready.

Judy - I responded to your cake-capades (new word) in the Healthy Eating Thread.

Coffee - You've been ignoring me so I'm ignoring you! Kidding, glad you're well.

So...I've been flirting with the idea of taking classes at a gym for years. Thought about it more recently, but wanted to see how the schedule worked out with baby. Well, did do a free trial class today. Geez! Feel like I been sittin around forever, it kicked my A$$!

Not even THAT different from things I been doin, but a lot more intense. Wall Balls (throwin a medicine ball in the air as you're comin up from a squat - was doin somethin close to that last year in the yard), kettle ball swings and box jumps. I'm beat in a good way, and may be doin more classes there.

Do it to it Y'all!

Judy: Your Easter sounds Perfect! Perfect!

Ghostly: I would never ignore you! Well, maybe a little bit. I would love to do the gym thing, too. Glad it kicked yer butt! Always a good thing!

Thanks guys...I live in the "bad" part of town but I walk in one of the nicer parts of town speaking of which the weather has turned and my solitary exercise is no more...it will only get worse as summer comes...oh well...this is why I like the beach in winter.

Speaking of gyms...I am canceling my membership...don't use it enough and I have severe financial problems.

My knee is better but not 100% sound so will probably walk a little longer...getting pretty fast on my walks though I'm going to do some of uncles squats but I'm looking for suggestions for core exercises now...stuff that doesn't need equipment...best type of sit ups that sort of thing.

Keep on kicking peeps!
