Never ending battle....

I think all of my weight gain was due to drinking on and off for 10 years. I really ballooned up in 2007 but took charge of my weight in 2008, lost almost 40 lbs. Granted the last 5-10 were lost in a very unhealthy way.....lots of drinking beer and smoking cigs, not eat right at all.
I have given up smoking about 3 weeks ago, when I was on a binge drinking night. But now I am giving both up and need to work on my weight and health. I need to lose another 25 lbs to be comfortable and at a healthy weight. Hoping to find some support on here for both weight loss and staying sober.....

Good luck on both of those things freespirit.
For me exercise and healthy eating go hand in hand with remaining sober.
Replace a bad habit with a good one so to speak.
Feel free to join in the fitness challenge.

What's the fitness challenge?

I was just thinking that - replacing a bad habit with a good one!!!

Welcome aboard freespirit!!!

There is another thread here that fubardcn started (12 week fitness challenge) where we all get together and whine and moan and just get lots of support from one another with our fitness goals. It's actually been great because even when I feel like slacking I don't....its helped all of us to keep motivated. We are about half way through, but come on in and check it out. Never too late to start.

Thanks 4ever. I started doing wii fit a few weeks ago but have slacked this week.

As 4ever pointed out the fitness challenge is probably the next thread down.
This is the second one I have started and as far as I know NOBODY has ever relapsed while participating.
You set your own goals so give it a try. It can't hurt. Too much.
