For me now, when I know that I have done my best... regardless of the outcome, it is good enough.

Knowing that I'm a good mom to my dogs and cats means the world to me.

Went to see my all time favorite rockstar ~ In the past I was always drunk. This time I was completely sober....got to talk to him & give him a birthday card, he gave me a hug, got a picture taken with him and one of his drumsticks....it was freaking magical!

I finally did what I needed to do to get my license back and I'm driving again. It is liberating to actually be able to drive myself around. I waited too long. I was never motivated enough. I'm starting to feel independent again

Cool question. Reaching a place in my recovery where I can go out and help others, for sure.

Waking up without a hangover. I try to never take it for granted. It used to be such a big deal when it happened, then for a while it never happened. Now it happens every day. That alone lets me know I'm free to do anything with my life.

Simple: FINDING GOD. Nothing else compares to the feeling of liberation in response to this one overwhelming truth. Thank you God for finally showing Thyself to me.

Mine was joining a gym, and starting yoga. Going to yoga classes as a male (I'm the only one in them) gets me some funny looks from the staff, but it's a good workout, and quite liberating too.

No more hangovers or the never ending drama of trying to keep it together.

I've been sober going on 8 yrs now, but it still feels wonderful to wake up feeling good. Also, still happy as a lark that I'm taking such good care of my dogs and cats now that I'm sober.

I've started standing up for myself at work. One of the women in my department has harrassed and bullied me for almost a year. I wrote her up for it. It took a lot of nerve! But it's amazing the change in her and in the rest of my team. And in me! Mostly in me.

Driving without worry.
Shopping without wasting an extra $30 on booze.
Waking up without a hangover.
Having the energy to be a proper mother and wife.
Keeping my memories instead of losing them in a bottle!!!

Stop caring so much about what people who will never be pleased think of me. :-)

I loved reading this Karen!

I lost a job once because of a workplace bully who verbally threatened me. This was pre-recovery but now that I'm post-recovery I wouldn't stand for that behavior for one minute. I would've handled it much differently and taken legal action.

Do you think the woman changed her behavior because she was afraid of losing her job, or do you think she really changed from within?

I'm sober so I notice behavior and symptoms of trouble with my critters. I noticed Jack wasn't acting right so got him to the vet. He has glaucoma but because I am sober, I can treat him so he's not in pain. Being sober means I take good care of my critters.

Dumped out all my very expensive booze and gave away all the wine beer vendors give me as holiday and Christmas gifts. Three weeks sober and feeling okay.
