Signs From God

They are all around us, if we can just see them. I find that in my sobriety I see them more and more. This morning is a case in point. Without going into a lot of details I was in a really bad mood this morning, on the edge of complete despair. This is an issue I've been praying over for quite a while now, and I have good days and bad days over it. This morning was a bad one, probably going to get worse as the day went on. I received a text message from someone I would have bet $1 million I would NOT have received one from, and it was exactly what I needed. Instantly calm and serene. When I got to work I said a long prayer thanking the Lord, letting Him know I know He's got this, and that I trust Him to have it turn out the way its supposed to. My faith is tremendously important to me and has been paramount in my recovery. For those that believe, put your signs, signals, etc from above here. I think it would be good to read and see what others have experienced and to share our experiences. Have a great day.

Thank you dafunbra. I am amazed every day at the generosity of our Lord in all things, I feel abundantly blessed each day and it allows me to donate my time, resources, and money to serving others.

At an AA speaker meeting I heard the speaker say "If you want to see God work in your life, pay attention!"

This might seem weird, but on the morning of April 8th, 2015, I woke up and the first thought that came into my head was "I'm going to buy a car today". Out of nowhere... So I called the Toyota dealer and asked if he had any used Corollas on the lot and he said yes. One had just that morning been returned from a lease.

I went out and drove it and bought it with the money mom had left me. But it was God who put the thought into my head, which made me actively look that day for a car.

I had been without a vehicle the whole winter and God knew I needed a good car. I prayed, He provided.

This past year was a hard one, and I can't claim I handled things well. When I look back, though, I received so many gifts from God over the year that I'm in a queer state of humility, gratitude and shame. It's bringing me back to the realization I had years ago that we can do nothing to deserve grace, but amazingly it's given to us every day. I need to get this back into my head and into my life.

Today I saw proof that God has a plan and a path for each and every one of us. He wants us to get to a certain place. And even if we walk off of that path and insist in going in the wrong direction, He will nudge us back to where He wants us to be. Sometimes He nudges gently and lovingly, sometimes He cracks us across the face with a 2 x 4, but He is always trying to help us get to where He wants us to be. Trust the process, people, and work hard on being open to seeing His gentle and loving nudges. They are much more pleasant than the 2 x 4's. Today I am grateful to be on His path.

I had an "Aha" moment yesterday morning. I wake up early and love the quiet time. I pray and meditate and journal (sometimes). Yesterday, a breath of wind or a breeze maybe felt like it entered my body and the thought that came with it was "God loves me so why don't I love me, too? If God can love me, then surely I can, too?" It was astonishing. I am growing and seeing the light shine brighter in me every day. God Bless!!!
