The Names of God - in my daily life

I hear or read these 'Names of God' ... Jehovah Jireh, etc ... which is fine and interesting, but it is also a good personal exercise for me to consider the 'Names of God' as He works in my life.

So far today:
God my insulator,
God my incubator.
God my director.
God my refuge.
God my inspiration.

Are you trying to develop a litany?

The Litany of God the Father is one I found.

Bill W advocates repetitious prayer. It clears a choked channel, takes me out of myself, and begins the process of meditation (to consider the works of another). All good activities to move me away from self and thus a drink.

Thanks Luna,
... actually, I am sharing a means I use to acknowledge and personalize the many ways God works in me throughout the day.

Such as when I am stressed at work, I will do my 'pause' and reflect that God is My Refuge. When I'm on my way to the Dr about my allergies I will acknowledge inside me that God is My Healer. When I am trying to write a post on Sober Recovery, I will reaffirm that God is My Inspiration.

So far this morning:
God is my Default in times of confusion.
God is my Sufficiency when I am feeling like I just can't keep up with everything I need to do.

heat sink - a device or substance for absorbing excessive or unwanted heat.

I can envision that, Gilmer, allowing God to take the heat for me. I give Him my troubles, concerns, worries, fears and He gives me love.

The reason I thought of it was because I was boiling over--really, really, really angry at somebody.

I turned to the Lord. At first I couldn't stop ranting to him; but then, slowly, I began to peter out and view things more rationally.

I believe the Lord took my heat and dissipated it.

Soon I was able to forgive the "offender" his sin, acknowledge my own sin, and make a heartfelt apology.

God is my ... last resort...

... did I just say that? I can't admit that to anyone, especially myself.
I often realize I'm like the girl in the movie, 50 First Dates, except I forget who I am every time a thought crosses my mind, or a 'feeling' hijacks me, and I'm immediately in some kind of inner turmoil, or retaliation mode, or...

yea, I 'forget' I'm the guy that NEEDS to take that PAUSE whenever I recognize anything negative going on inside me, (our outside of me) ... I always need to Bring God In.

So, after that realization ...

God is my ... Life Enrichment Provider

God as that gentle but firm hand on the shoulder that says "everything is okay".
