Question Every night Meetings?

I was just in chat with a bunch of people and the discussion came up about how there were alot of people in chat because there was a meeting earlier and I had brought up how I wished there was meetings every night. Some people agreed.

Im just curious to why we dont? Is it because of supervision, as in, a moderator needs to be there to conduct one.

It would be really beneficial for meetings every night. I really enjoy them, and its especially nice to know I have an option whenever Im feeling a bit low to have a place to come to.

Im just curious to see if more people feel that way and if its possible. Chat is pretty dead throughout the day and it is nice to have them at 9pm I think (ideally "drinking time.") Personally Im not ready for AA yet, and coming to chat has been so perfect for me. There are so many great people here with information to share. It would be nice to have that as much as possible.

Let me know what you guys think.

I know from an outside perspective it takes a lot to organise a SR chat meeting and run it.

We don't get paid for this SR staff gig. We're all volunteers

I get lost and confused in chat - I couldn't do it...It takes a special kind of person to deal with chat and deal with it well, and I thank Opi and ladybug for their service

Indeed, I must thank everyone that takes care of the meetings on Tuesday and Friday. They have been extremely beneficial for me. I try to make them as much as possible.

Just want more!

Yes it will be great if we could have meetings every night but I understand and thank you all for volunteer. I get lost in chat as well and I try AA before. I dont feel comfortable I dont like AA meetings. maybe I should just do it if in fact I am serious about not drinking ever again.

There are other options besides AA, Soberandhealthy. LifeRing, RR, Smart Recovery are just a few.

Here's a great link.

SMART has online meetings as well daily. I utilize them frequently.

If you are not ready for a chat meeting or face to face, at LifeRing we have email meetings, blogs, voice meetings and book clubs.
