TOPIC: Golf

Hello SR Golfers..... those who love playing the sport
or just enjoying following the players on tv, computer
or phone.

I myself am not a player, only putt putt a few times in
the past, but mostly a fan of watching the different
tournaments on tv.

Today, I am totally excited to watch the return of Golf
since the virus arrived and things around the world came
to a halt. A few months have passed now and slowly
things in the world are coming back to life.

The Charles Schwab Tournament will begin today and
Im looking forward to watching the returned players and future
tournaments down the road leading up to the Ryder Cup.

I first got interested in watching it back in 1990, the year I
entered recovery and have been watching it ever since along
with my continued sobriety success. Both for me go hand
and hand.

Anyway, if you want to follow golf with me and would like
to share, please feel free to join me each week.

I will also add the new leaderboard too if you like keeping
up with the score.

Hey Snazzy...!!!!

Here we are on Sunday and the final stretch to getting our
first golf winner since the virus shutdown. Soooo yay....!!!!

Been watching them play since they started on Thursday, hoping
many of my favs would be playing today. Sadly, they didnt make
the cut.

However, we have a good number of them ready to make their
move today to pull out this first Win of the season.

Whose it gonna be????

Speith, Texas homegrown boy?

Rory?

Whose are you rooting for?

Whose gonna want this win more than anything? Whose
gonna rise to the occasion and make a big move? I hope
it will be a good ending today.

Hi Sharon! I'm really glad golf is back, we're all badly in need of healthy wholesome (hole-some!) diversion. And more importantly, I'm glad the Cafe Central golf thread is back haha!
I saw my guy Speith was doing good when I checked Saturday night, I guess he didn't have a great Sunday.

This really could be a new golden age of golf I think, so many talented young players coming into their own while legends like Tiger and Phil are still around and very capable of winning too.

Hey my friend Snazzy.....

I thought Jordan was gonna fight hard to win too. However,
it looks like he is still struggling with something. Is he too much
in his head thinking? Maybe his swing is off? He seems to lack
continued confidence within himself.

As I watch him take his position and follow with his swing,
hit the ball, then he begins to talk to himself with not being
happy with it. As soon as the ball takes off, he is already
aggravated with himself for the way he hit the ball and in
the direction of it going.

Anyway, one day it all will click for him and begin winning.

I dont know, but he looks more like a baseball player more
so than a golfer. But then, that's my thoughts on him.

Tomorrow begins the RBC Heritage with a good line up
of players. Sooooo, let's watch some golf...!!!!

Here's the leaderboard of all the players to play before
they determine what the cut off line will be on Friday going
into the weekend.

My man Speith had 6 birdies in a row yesterday, the kid from Texas is pretty good! It's too bad this was after a triple bogey though hahaha. That's just how golf is right there.

More and more he's reminding me of a young Johnny Miller back in the 70s, also blonde and good-looking, also insanely talented but really streaky, always exciting.

Projected cut off line is -3.

Lots of good golfers playing this afternoon when we can
watch them on tv without all the yackity yack talk.

Sergio, Day, Rory, Fowler, Spieth, Bubba and many more.

Spieth did have a good round yesterday, now we see what
today will bring. Right?

I'm ready for some good golf this weekend...!!!

Projected cut line is now -4.

Rickie is -2 right now thru hole 12. Not doing to well, but still has a
chance with the last few holes. If he misses the cut again then it will
be the second cut for the first to championships of the new season.

You can't make money if you keep getting cut. Right?

He's got all pars and 2 boggies so far.

Nick Watney is the first pga player to be tested with the
virus and is in quarantine.

Webb Simpson is leading with -12 with Bryson -11

Well, from looking at the leaderboard, it could be anyone's
game if they really want it. Even at the bottom if they really
played their best to at least get into the top 10.

Just dont know. Maybe Hatton if he holds onto the lead or.....
who's your pick Snazzy?

Today is a new day and who ever wins well...today will be
their day to win. Right? Who wants it bad enough?

Rain delay there and rain finally coming down
here at home. Still got more to play when they
commence the tournament. Hopefully not too
long of a wait.

With Web Simpson's win this week, if this is correct, it
catapulted him to the top of the FedEx standings.

Here is the latest list I found.

3rd round here we go.....

I watch some yesterday and got to see Bryson's long
shot and his ball traveling down hill on the cart path
to finally settle in the drainage grill not too terribly far
from the hole. However, he got a bogie on that shot.

Oh well, here is a new day and Philly boy is at the top
of the leaderboard. Will he stay there or will he get run
over....

Yep, it's confirmed that bad weather will be in the area
this afternoon in Connecticut. So they are playing threesomes
this morning.

Back in the day the cut off line was maybe -1 or -2, but today.....

-4 is the cut off line. I mean you have to win in double digits
in todays time.

Meaning, there are so many changes and the players with
new technology equipment and training in the gym.....they
are at the top of their game and playing good golf with different
scoring.

Anyway....just some thoughts there to share.

Bryson DeChambeau picks up this win finishing with -23

Matthew Wollf came in 2nd with -20

Rickie Fowler finished with a -14, a score back in the
day would have be considered a huge win.
