Cool Whiners Anonymous ... Part 275 ~ "Here Come The Whines"

New Thread Continues From Here:

https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/caf-central/447563-whiners-anonymous-part-274-your-whines-only-25.html (Whiners Anonymous ... Part 274 ~ "For Your Whines Only")

Thank you for the new title, Caramel.

W.A. Preamble!

Whiners Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience,

strength and hope with each other,

that they may solve their whining problems and help others to recover from whinerism.

The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop whineing.

There are no dues or fees for W.A. membership;

we are self-supporting through our own contributed whines.

W.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization, institutions,

TV, radio, or Oprah Book of the Month Club!

does not wish to engage in any controversy, yeah right!,

neither endorses nor opposes any causes.

Our primary purpose is to stop whine'n and help other whineaholics to achieve non whineity.

Whiners Anonymous Help (WAH!)

Do you whine, complain, or snivel? Are you a grumpy old fart?
Do you seek out others in taverns or internet chat rooms to whine about things?
Do people ever tell you to "like it or lump it"?
Are you asked, "What are you crying about?"
Do friends or family seem less likely to talk to you as the years go by?
Do you constantly tell other people they whine too much?

If you do any of these things, you may be in need of the WAH! 12 step program.
Whining is for tiny tots! Do you want to die a lonely old man/woman and whine about the prospect?
Stop whining now!

The WAH! 12 Step Program:

1. Admit you whine.

Just say, "I am a whiner."

2. Admit your whining is a problem.

It's not enough to know you whine--you have to realize it interferes with your life. Tell yourself, your spouse, and a friend that you have a problem with whining, that all you have ever done is whine. But don't whine to God! He already knows, all too well. God just sat back while you whined away the years. It's not His fault, after all, so don't go whining to Him with your problem.

3. Seek help to cure your whining.

Whining is but one of your many shortcomings, since you are a miserable excuse for a human being. Another shortcoming is you can't do anything for yourself, otherwise you would not whine. Go whine to somebody to help you--that's all you know how to do, remember?

4. Laugh at your whine.

Made a decision to turn your constant whining over to your sense of humor and learn to "lovingly and wholeheartedly" laugh at yourself each time you whine. Be prepared to be given the nickname "Loony Tunes," however.

5. Step out of your shoes.

Put your whine in perspective. There's a woman in Africa living in a mud hut with a grass roof and NO indoor plumbing. She lives off of $27 a year. She is totally blind and collects sticks for firewood, hoping the next stick isn't a snake. Now, what was your whine again?

6. Eat something nasty.

Eat some vegetable you hate without whining about the taste. And don't hold your nose or cover it with cheese!

7. Listen to other whiners.

Get a part job in a complaint department and listen to other peoples' whines 8 hours a day. But don't complain about your job! If you do, go back to step 3. Go a whole week listening to your wife/husband complain and just say "yes dear." If you can't, go back to step 2. Have kids and listen to them whine--that's how you sound to others. Pay back time! What goes around, comes around!

8. Make a victim list.

Make of list of all persons you thought you had harmed and hope to hell that they'd forgotten all the minuscule crap you'd blown out of proportion. Ask them if you ever whined, and then be prepared to take the return whine.

9. Beat the crap out of your parents.

After all, they raised a whiner. Yes, you started early, but it is not your fault!

10. Beware of falling off the wagon.

Resign yourself to the fact you are going to whine each time you try to stick to your guns when you know you are right. Once a whiner, always a whiner, they say. So either just admit your are wrong or go back to step 1. Cripes, you mean you really want to go back to step 1 after getting to step 10?

11. Whine to your dog.

They love you no matter how much you whine. It's called unconditional love. Unless of course they sense your foul mood. Disguise your whine by mixing the words "good dog" in every sentence. They only know so many words--those two they know. Otherwise, your dog would hate you like all the people you know.

12. Help others.

Help some other whiney-assed basstard with his whine problem. You get to whine about their whining. It's great.

so have at it!

whine, snivle, rant, bitch, and rave away!!!

W.A. Disclaimer; just be prepared for the results

12 Promises of WA

If we are painstaking about developing our whining techniques, we will be amazed at how proficient we become at expressing our dissatisfaction with people, places, and things that irk us.

1. We are going to know a new freedom of expression.

2. We will realize it's phony to pretend happiness when we just aren't feeling it.

3. We will not regret our whines nor wish to deny their validity.

4. We will comprehend the word serenity and we will know the peace of unburdening ourselves by sharing our whines at WA.

5. No matter how far down in the dumps we feel, we will see how our experience can benefit our fellow whiners.

6. That Pollyanna feeling of "la-dee-da, la-dee-da" will disappear.

7. We will set our own whines aside as we realize someone else's whine may be more deserving of our emotional support .

8. Self-centeredness will not be as prevalent, as we share and compare whining.

9. Our whole attitude and outlook upon ordinary blahs in general, and whining in particular will take on a new meaning.

10. Fear of being recognized and/or ostracized as a Chronic Whiner will leave us.

11. We will intuitively know that healthy whining is not to be stifled, but shared with others like ourselves.

12. We will suddenly realize that sharing a good whine can be very cathartic and we no longer need to whine alone.

Are these unreasonable promises? We think not. Whining has become our way of dealing with adversities--sometimes major, sometimes petty--and knowing our whines will not go unnoticed will work towards reducing the tensions produced by life's little speedbumps.

The Twelve Traditions of Whiner's Anonymous

1. Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends upon W.A. unity.

2. For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority—the owners, Administrators and Moderators, Greeters and Members of this site as they may express themselves in our group conscience.

3. Our leaders are but trusted servants;but they do govern. The only requirement for W.A. membership is SR membership and a desire to share some whiny ESH.

4. This group should be autonomous except in matters affecting other whiners or W.A.as a whole.

5. Each group has but one primary purpose—to whine about things in a safe environment, have fun, blow off steam and then let it go while moving onward in recovery.

6. A W.A. group ought never endorse, finance, or lend the W.A. name to any related facility or outside enterprise, lest those who do not wish to whine or read other people's whines divert us from our primary purpose.

7. Every W.A. group ought to not to be fully self-supporting, and gratefully accept this venue given to us for the purpose of whining.

8. Whiner's Anonymous should remain forever non-professional, but our all of our whiners shall remain as special workers.

9. W.A., as such, ought never be organized; because they need to whine about the ups and downs of their lives.

10. Whiner's Anonymous has no opinion on outside issues; because most people on the outside ignore whiners anyway.

11. Our public relations policy is based on whining rather than promotion; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of real life if that is what we choose.

12. Anonymity of screen names is optional for those who choose to use real names ever reminding us to place principles before personalities, and respect those from other fellowships. What we whine about here stays forever on the internet.

Thanks for the new part Opi.

I just gave Billie a biscuit, just because I can.

Am in a good mood tonight, no reason, just feel good.

Opi, how's your eye feeling? Any better yet?

You're welcome, Least.

My understanding is a good two weeks or a month before my eye heals. The doctor will check me again and we will proceed from there.

Doesn't hurt too badly. Not seeing clearly throws off my balance. I'm very careful when walking.

Happy to hear you feel good this evening, Least.

I was just eating my favorite crackers - flax seed Nut Thins, and sharing them with Billie. She loves them and gets excited when I ask if she wants some crackers.

I don't know why I feel good, just glad to feel that way. I believe that Billie's company might have something to do with that. I tell her often that she's my best friend.

Well, I guess you'll just have to grit your teeth and get used to your vision being weird for a while. I sure didn't like it in between my two cataract surgeries.

Getting older sucks! I just bent down to plug in my cell phone charger and got a pain in my shoulder out of nowhere. It seems like the slightest movement in the wrong direction will give me a pain.

I've got a mosquito bite on my ankle and boy does it itch!!

Morning Whinys, I’m late to the party.

Ann, I’m pleased your chemo went well, even without your snacks!

Hev, so sorry your friend passed. Her husband will be warmed by your card.

Caramel, good title! Sorry you’re not well, glad you’re going to see the doc. xx

Daisy, I’m glad your daughter and husband have had the antibody test. They’re finding out more and more about the virus daily. Funnily enough I received an email yesterday evening saying book a test. They’re supposed to be sending them in the post to arrive today. I don’t know if that’s possible, with the speed of our post. It’s not the antibody though but the swab one. This just tells them if you’ve got it.

Suki love the bird in posh shoes.

Opi, sorry your sight is still playing up. I hope it wears off quickly.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for my family friend.

least, you’ve been so busy clearing out your house, there must be so much space in it now and feel well, spacious.

Love to all. xxxx

Opi, extra special thanks for the new thread, posted with your eye trouble and all. Love you, girl. Hope your eyes clear up soon.

Least, glad you feel so good. I think your house cleaning has put you in good spirits, in spite of the water obstacles. Once it is done, keeping it clean is a lot easier. I try to pick a time each day or a half day each week to have a "go through". Losing my cleaning angel (staying home because of Covid, for work exposure and her kids are home from school) has got me back to some good habits. Our new place may be very doable on my own. I feel well and Bubba helps with the hard stuff and keeping his spots clean. So you have inspired me to keep going with this, I like a clean home.

We got thunderstorms last night, bad storms around us but we are fine here but may get more rain today.

Hope everyone has a splendid day.

Good morning whiners!

I'm up early today as I have my podiatrist appt this afternoon and my ride is coming at 1pm.

Ann, yes, this cleaning gives me energy.

Still no replacement check from SSA. The letter I got from them was dated May 17th and still no check.

PJ, got any pictures of your sanity drive? You always have some good pictures of the countryside.

Yes, PJ, Pics if you have them.

I need a sanity drive too, Bubba is driving me nuts not cooperating nor coordinating with what I (the captain of the moving ship) order. I will spare you the details that ended up with my buffet being chipped, and get to the part where I stomped off in full Codie Snit shouting behind me "I AM NEVER MOVING AGAIN, NOT EVER!"

He replied "You always say that".....and I slammed bedroom door, knocking my recovery flying somewhere.

He took a load to the dump, wise move to leave, and I will snap out of it,...but I plead insanity should bodies be buried in my side garden sometime between 2 and 3 am. If you have a shovel please bring it, mine is packed.

PJ, glad you got out for a sanity drive.

Ann, you do amazingly. I’d get stressed and hot and bothered moving, I’m sure of it. You reminded me of Lucille Ball with what you said. I loved her, she was funny and kind and a heart of gold. Yep, you reminded me of her.

least, so frustrating for you not receiving your cheque. I’m glad you’re keeping busy, it will get rid of your frustrations, hopefully. Love to you and Billie and kitties. xx

Its terrible weather, rain, wind and the sky is full of big clouds that are moving very fast...or is it us moving or both us and the clouds.

Daisy, I hope your g.kids schools are still supplying work for them to carry out at home. It must be so different and maybe difficult schooling at home. Not to mention the time you’re schooling too.

Hev, did you get some furniture now the shops are open? did you tell us already and I’m getting confused?

Mr. Mags has actually gone to the door to shout one of the cats in. He gets on really well with her and she goes to him mostly. I’m really pleased seeing as he didn’t want any cats. .

see you later, lots of love. xxxxx

Back home from the podiatrist. My toenails are now a respectable length. My driver was a nice guy and a good driver.

Ann, don't let Bubba get you down. You will be moved soon and then can take your time putting things where you want them.

Mags, sorry for your terrible weather. We had our terrible weather last night but today is gorgeous.

I love the kitty footprints!! lol

This is definitely a "new handbag" experience...leather with good hardware...and a matching wallet. And Bubba wonders why I have so many handbags. After 50 years of marriage I have learned not to carry resentments but replace them with splendid handbags.

I am almost over it. Almost!

The Fila sandals I got last year have a defect in the left shoe. The velcro doesn't hold. So I fixed it. I stapled the two flaps together.

Thanks, Opi.

Ann - Ooh - bold move on Bubba's part with the 'You always say that' comment.
What color will anti-resentment handbag be? I think I'll adopt the 'Don't carry resentments, carry a new handbag' motto.

Suki - That's a kitty classic.

Magsie - We ordered a sofa, chair, & dining table - so far, only the sofa has arrived. We feel almost human, no longer sitting on lawn furniture.
Still need 2nd tv with stand & a bureau. Clothes are in large trash bags - it's getting old rooting around for stuff.
It's great MrMags has befriended the kitty.

MrH went fishing - I sat on a bench & looked at the lake. Helped clear my head. I don't like to watch the fish get caught, so I don't.
People are starting to confront each other about not wearing masks. I think we're getting a bit careless - some states have had flare-ups. But I know everyone is so sick of this.

I was wrong, it was the right shoe. I stapled it but the staples didn't hold. Going to try the staple gun to see if that works. Well, that didn't work. These damn sandals are worthless!!

Hev, glad you've got a sofa anyway. Hope the rest of it comes soon. Have you bought a dresser yet?

I like your motto: Don't carry resentments, carry a new handbag.

I keep finding more things to clean!! I thought I was done in the bathroom but found that the sides of the sink/cabinet were dirty so had to clean them.

When I was cleaning the playroom the other day I found an old frisbee. I washed it and gave it to the kids next door.

When I was walking home with Billie after our long walk this morning, the free lunch van was parked on our street and they brought me a lunch. They give you a lot of food, and good food too. Cheese, fruit, crackers, sandwich, juice and chocolate milk. I don't usually drink milk but am drinking it cause it's chocolate and because it's food.

Hev, I don't like fishing either. Can't stand to see them caught. Bro used to fish a lot. I never went with him and dad when they went fishing.

Caramel, how are you feeling today? Any better?

I fixed my shoe. I took a sharp knife and poked a hole thru the two flaps, in two places, and used twist ties to hold them together. At least now I have summer shoes.

Thank you for your kind thoughts.
Dr extended my antiviral meds from seven to ten days' worth and gave me some antibiotic eyedrops, and will phone me in a few days to see how I am, meanwhile of course I'm to get back there if I feel worse.
DDs have brought me soup, and milk and juice and flowers.
The ailment seems to be running its dreary course.

I am a Pollyanna by nature and so I'm Glad I'm not experiencing pains any more, nor even the worst that shingles can do: just feels like my face has a rubber mask stuck over half of it and it's tingling and stinging sometimes and weird, and is quite unsightly. Some fever, no appetite, and I feel like "I cannot brain today, I haz the dumb".

My thoughts and good wishes for those otherwise afflicted or dealing with big things.

(((Caramel))) Glad your doctor extended your meds. I've never had shingles but know people who have and they say it's awful. I hope the eye drops help.

Fed Billie and took her for a little potty walk. She did a LW so I'm happy.

We've walked a bit over 3 miles today.
