Good morning whiners! The sun is out, tho it's cold, so maybe will get in a dog walk or two.

Opi, sending you love and hoping you'll feel better soon.

Hmm - not very whiny today are we?

Mags - We just need to interpret what Ginger might have meant by 'Mee-ow' in this context. Probably "I'll leave the tree when I'm good & ready."

Least - Thank you for the Brahms.

It warmed up to 36 F so I took Billie for a long walk. A bit chilly but the sun is out and no wind so it was bearable. Billie and I were glad to get out of the house. She was happy to sniff everything.

Hev, if you like Brahms, you'll love this. His 3rd symphony, 3rd movement. It's my favorite Brahms piece.

Back from another wild goose chase drive with Bubba, nature is hiding, even on these nice sunny days.

Least, I love the wonderful music you come up with here. You are our own personal Whiny Music Director.

And yeah, Mags, there is no question that kitties talk...like Sylvester...I LOVE Sylvester, lol...

A long time ago I had a black and white 'tuxedo' cat named Sylvester. He was a sweetheart and was very special to me.

If it wasn't so late in the day I'd take a nap just for something to do.

Hev, I think you’re right about Ginger, seeing as she has sole ownership of the tree and everything on it!

least, I’ve got a black cat with white boots and scarf, she’s called Missy and so much sensible than Ginger. She’s only 6 months older too. Sylvester is a great name for a cat.

Ann, I love talking kitties. Wow they’re funny.

Least - That was beautiful - plus I loved all those great pictures.

Ann - I love the cat daddy's overly cheerful voice. Poor soul.

Good evening whiney friends, I hope you're all having a good weekend. I didn't get chance to check in last night or this morning as I had g.sons's no.1 and 2 staying over and then g.son no 2, the little one who lives with me had his third and final cross country race for 2019. He did really well, he came 19th out of 120 boys ( he did about the same in the previous 2 races)and was first boy in for his school, my dad would be so proud of him. I'm proud of him.
Thanks for your comments re the Christingle, there is a story behind them which can be traced right back to 1747. The orange represents the world, the lit candle represents Jesus as the light of the world bringing hope to those who live in darkness, the red ribbon symbolises the love and blood of Christ and the sweets or fruit and nuts represent all of God's creations. Its a lovely tradition to keep going.
Other than all that I've got a horrible sinus infection but I'll live.

Thank you for the new part Ann. I hope Opi is okay and is feeling better, lots of love sent her way.

I hope all is good with you Venuscat.

Lovely to see you checking in here Soberwolf, the headings are funny I agree.

I hope Gigi is continuing to recover Pondlady, poor little mite, she's been through it.

Urgh Hevyn, how are you coping with all that white mess? I hope you're keeping warm.

You did well with the swimming P.J, it's a good load bearing exercise and it builds endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness. I should start doing it again myself. Maybe when the weather gets a bit warmer.

Just imagine the conversations we'd have if our pets could speak human and vice versa Least, it would be very interesting and I bet we'd learn loads. I'm glad you managed to get out with Billie for a long walk. It's gale force winds and heavy rain here tonight.

Loving the Brahms, thank you.

I hope your day has been a wonderful one too Chicory.

Mags, I have a thing about ginger cats, I love them, I want one. I'm not putting my tree up until next Friday and I dread to think what Lulu will do to it, she's very naughty.

Hi Harriet, the Whiner's rules never fail to make me laugh.

Least. Freddie was a very handsome chap.

I'm off to peruse now before I go to bed.

Much love to all of you. xxx

Daisy - It's great that g.son did so well in the race! He's a blessed little boy to have you to love and support him.
The white mess will probably be with us all winter. Sometimes we don't see grass until March.

Billie ate all her supper and then dropped a dog bomb in the yard. It doesn't take much to make me happy.

Congrats to your g.son Daisy on doing so well in his race.

Must have had a senior moment there, as I thought I had finished this post. I have to write down when I take my meds too, so I know I took them.

Morning Whiners

Daisy, well done to your g.son in his cross country race, it must’ve been so muddy for them all.

Least your Freddie is beautiful. Looks the epitome of innocence. I feel a bit of a fraud because my cat Ginger isn’t all ginger. She’s white with ginger markings. My mil says her colouring is called brindle, but I just know it’s spells mischief. I’ve currently downloaded an app for cats and they chase the mouse round. It squeaks when they catch it but it always gets away. This leads to some funny antics whilst the cats look everywhere for the mousey. (I may have said this already)

Least I too am having a problem remembering if I took my meds. I have an alarm on my fitness watch which I set to remind me. I also set the Sedentary alert for every hour in the day.
So if I’ve been sat for an hour it will buzz to let me know to get up and walk. I had it when I was at work too so I didn’t find myself sat behind a pc for hours on end without moving anything except my feet and hands. (Apparently one of my work colleagues said my feet under the desk was like watching Michael Flatley

We’re visiting in-laws this morning, feeling better from the cold and cough too, which I’m pleased about, I can’t risk not getting my flu jab on Tuesday.

Blowing a gale here, sounded like the roof was coming in through the night, I hope no trees were damaged.

Sending lots of love, see you later xxxx

Daisy, congrats to g-son with his race. How great that he participate and does so well, winning doesn't matter, just doing his best. He has learned well from his grandma.

Mags, that's funny about ginger cat. Glad you feel better.

Least, I love that pic of Freddie. Such a lovely kitty, I have a feeling that my Toby and Freddie are best friends in Kitty Heaven.

I am hoping to make church this morning but a big part of me just wants a restful day. I may respect that, Tuesday is medical day and will require a lot of energy. I will decide by 9 or 9:30, service begins at 10 but it's a 5 minute drive.

Good morning whiners! A nice, sunny day here, but really cold. I am off and plan to maybe decorate a bit. I did get a live tree from rural king for 29 $. fresh and not like last years half off disaster, lol.
Opi, sending hugs and love and prayers your way. No shoveling snow or worrying, or anything but feeling loved. We miss you!
Hev, I do envy your snow. I feel like the season is rushing by. working retail is awful as it shoves as many holidays together as it can, and I feel like I don't really get to enjoy any of it. I love Christmas, and want to spend it baking cookies, doing helpful things, and having cocoa, listening to carols and such. Maybe even caroling. making a snow man. watching birds feed on the snow, under their feeders. the cardinals look so amazing against the snow.

Ann, have a lovely and restful day. Oh, and I love love love Sylvester cat. He makes me laugh!

Oh, I've been watching 'Durrels in Corfu', on prime, and its charming! Scenery is fabulous.

Chic, I am glad you got a nice tree and hope you enjoy decorating today.

Taking time for you, doing all those things you enjoy, are far more important that working in the rat race of holidays. You are great at finding a good balance.

Taking a restful day won, there are some lovely Christmas nights at the church...a candlelight service, the children's pageant and I will try to make some of them, this church really gives me a lift but this morning resting will do me better.

Good morning whiners! I woke up out of a strange dream, which I can't remember, just that it was strange.

Chic, that's a good price for a live tree.

Ann, resting is good for you.

Mags, I use a Postit note to keep track of when I take my meds. I just put a '1' on the day to mark my first dose of meds, and a '2' later when I take my second dose.

Mags - I love the Michael Flatley comment. He was so wonderful - need to look up that video of Riverdance.

Ann - I'm glad you have the good sense to take it easy when necessary.

Chic - I hope the kind of Christmas you wish for will soon be a reality. You've worked so hard & truly deserve it.
