Still too cold to walk her, but I took her out in the dog yard and she did a LW.

Thank you, Venus.

Just got back from Walgreen's, where they told me it was Senior Day and I got 20% off my purchase. I love the discount, but don't like being old enough to get it.

Mags, I hope this can all be put together for you soon and bring you some relief.

Least, I hope you get one good walk in today.

Suki, I LOVE senior's discounts, age be damned.

I got my hair cut this morning, the same stylist as when my hair was pathetically thin and scarce and she was surprised. I told her that it was her good care that brought it back and she liked that. I feel better now, not frumpy and not baldish. Also, I hit a sale and got a lovely red sweater that called to me in my favourite shop....regular $88 on sale for $39!! It's very pretty and will be my Christmas Eve attire, along with my "JOY" glitter pin.

Also, I told my brother that the book of family stories had gone to print and I should receive them the end of this week or early next week. I told him about adding the pictures and tartan and crest and he cried, happy tears but I think he was so touched and relieved that this was all accomplished while he could still recall the stories, even though his wife had to help him at the end. That alone made all the work worthwhile. They will be Christmas gifts for each of his children and I will make sure that the torch is passed and that they will be responsible for writing "the sequel" when they reach our age.

I still hope to grab a nap before dinner. We had lunch while we were out so dinner will be light and easy.

Suki - So true. I remember getting carded into my 30's. Doubt that'll be happening any time soon. I assumed looking young for my age would go on forever....

Suze - I love the waving Panda.

MK - You're part of us - so happy to hear from you.

Mags & Daisy - I hope you don't get snow like we did. Albany, NY got almost 2 feet. (Using a metric converter that would be 0.6096 meters?) Anyway, lots of snow!

Ann - I'm so glad your hair is recovering its volume again.
That's really touching about the book of family stories - that's a great thing to have achieved for your extended family.

Unlike some of my cousins who seem to be offended at the thought of being "old", I take all the discounts I'm entitled to, you betcher!

Ann - I didn't see your post while I was typing away.
Your family history project was such a lot of work, but so worth it. Now that both my & MrH's parents are gone, we look at old photos and wonder who some people are. Only a few have ID on the back or the year taken.
Your new red sweater sounds lovely.

Oh, I love the discount and will take it. This was just the first time it was mentioned to me and I was like...Do I look old enough to be told about Senior Day??

Maybe I should start wearing makeup again.

Ann, your book of family stories sounds great. And yes, it will be up to the young ones to continue the story.

Suki, every once in a while I'm lucky enough to get senior discounts. I don't give a crap that I'm old enough to get them, I just take advantage of them. 20% is better than the discounts I get here. Our senior discounts are only 10%.

No dog walks today, just too cold to walk her. She goes potty quickly when we go out cause it's too cold to stay out there long.

Suki, I had to laugh at your remark about wearing make up again. Until a couple of years ago, I wouldn't dream of leaving the house without at least some make up on....these days I only wear it for a special occasion !

Ann, Hev and DB, I'm loving your holiday avatars !

Ann, My Mother's side of the family has a lot of history to it and Mom was even in the DAR. I just don't seem to have much interest in it. Mom gets sad thinking of the loss of her brother, he knew all the old stories too. I'm setting out some old photographs amongst Christmas decor this year, in memory of our lost loved ones...makes me feel like they're with us.

MK, I am so happy to see you and have missed your posts. I remember you talking about tall pines near your house and getting fire wood for big fires. Are you still in the same house? I'm sad you've experienced so much loss. I hope you'll reach out and let us show you how much we care about you.

I put the ornaments on the tree today, it looks very pretty. I've really gone to town this year with holiday decorating.......but it's the first time ever, that my Mom has come for Christmas !

Bedtime check in, I forgot about my whine this morning so I'll have it now, I woke up full of a chesty cold and this evening I've practically lost my voice Ha, grandson is delighted.

Least I'm glad you've got no snow or rain but I hope it warms up enough for you to take Billie for a walk.

Hi Venuscat, I hope all is good with you.

Mags, I've not put my Christmas tree up yet and I dread to think what Lulu cat will make of it, I'm sure she'll be in it first chance she gets.
Awww I'm glad your MIL enjoyed the Christmas dinner, I hope you did too.
You're probably right about not having your injections until after Christmas, I do hope you don't have to wait much longer though.
I'm reading a book too that I can't get into, it's a paper one that my daughter gave me, I'm trying to concentrate and persevere with it but it's not really working .

Suki, my mum would be telling you that age is just a number, she makes me smile when she says she going into town to have coffee with the girls, they're all in their 80's, mum is 86 and one of the girls is 93.

Ann, I'm glad to hear that your hair is thickening up and what a nice thing to say to your stylist. I love, love, love red and a pretty red sweater will be just perfect for Christmas. How lovely to be able to tell your brother that your family book has gone to print and I'm sure it will cherished for many years to come.

Hevyn, we've had no snow at all as yet, it's been very cold and icy though. We usually get the snow a couple of weeks after America gets it. Almost 2 ft of snow, brrrrr, that's a lot. I love your avatar by the way.

I take all the discounts I'm entitled too as well Caramel, I figure I've earned them. Mind you I don't feel old at all, I feel great until I catch sight of myself in a mirror then it's like O.M.G is that really me, yuck!

Pondlady, I'm the same with make up, I used to wear it all the time, now I'm lucky if I remember to even put a bit of lippy on. I love your avatar too, I think that's one of our U.K robins. I think your mum is going to have the best Christmas ever with you, you're a wonderful daughter.

Hi Harriet, I hope you've had a good day.

See you all tomorrow, sleep well.

Love always xxx

Hev, you got lots of snow! we have only had a few flurries, once it sort of covered the ground. I can't believe that the time is flying, toward Christmas! Im only carded when I write a check, lol.

Ann, its good that you have your luscious hair back. When my hair looks bad, I feel yuk. I need a good hair cut. Congrats on finishing your book. I am sure it will be treasured, and I hope that the younger ones coming along will continue to record things. I sure wish I had one of my family.

Suki, your tree is beautiful! Quite artsy, ma'am. Not that you are old enough to be called ma'am, just a phrase, lol. I have been offered the senior discount for a few years now. I ask if there are ' any discounts', but I do not mention senior, even though that is what I mean.

Pondy, how wonderful that your mom is having Christmas with you. and its sweet that you are putting out photos of loved ones who have gone on . I am sure your decorating is lovely!!!

well, I had inventory today. I feel some carpal tunnel discomforts these days. My arm is better now, I am babying it and doing some exercises for tendonitis/bursitis.

how many days until Spring, least ?

love and hugs..

Only 120 days til April 1st. It's snowing here right now and sticking to the ground.

Daisy, I try not to look in the mirror too much... it destroys my illusions of youth... Sorry you're sick. Hope you get better soon.

Chic, haven't you gotten your Golden Buckeye card yet? I got mine when I turned 60. Too bad the grocery store doesn't take it.

Great about your hair Ann.

Suki- I get that age bit. Apparently we lose our memory and forget if we do, say or write stuff

Suki- I get that age bit. Apparently we lose our memory and forget if we do, say or write stuff

I have just reduced my weight from triple, down to double digits. I enjoy it- as well as being around humans. Having to remind myself not to obsess- went for 2.5 x 3 hour sessions the other day. I do not feel any pain or soreness- but the next day- fatigue sets in (because of fried nerves, brain wired weird- from burns methinks). My lunatic bike riding friend (the same one who helped me in gym stuff0 also happens to be a qualified swimming instructor- and has offered to help improve my swimming- which is more directional drifting. So again, I will do so- as it is way out of my comfort zone. I thought about just wearing boardies ('swimming shorts) and no top, but I am still self conscious. The right hand side- although looks like skin for a distance- there is no boob, no muscle mass- and the ribs are weird- as cut/trimmed when they burnt.. also there is a large pouch of loose skin where my armpit used to be- that just hangs, no muscle- without it I could not extend my arm. dysmorphia maybe, but I also tired of strangers almost demanding to know what- and why.

PJ - People can be so rude. It's wonderful that you're working on your physical well being, having done a remarkable job of improving your mental health. So many good things accomplished - especially this past year.

PJ, swimming is good low-impact exercising. Good for you!

Billie enjoyed her soup-er supper. Just a bit of soup and she goes nuts and really wolfs it down.

I am cold tonight. Wrapped in two blankets, one on my lap and one like a shawl. Keeps me warm at my desk but it feels cold downstairs without a blankie on me.

Hev, did you get your foot of snow? We're now getting a mix of rain and snow - ugh.

PJ, you will like swimming. I took some instruction last year to help with breathing and body mechanics as I am a self taught swimmer, and it has helped a lot!
Swimming is kind of zen for me. I go to a quiet zone, you know?
Good luck and good thoughts.
