That pittie on Grounds and Hounds is so sweet. I'm sorry she had her ears cut off. They do it in an extremely grizzly way with scissors and no anesthesia. But she is a sweet thing. She/he, looks like a she to me, is so adorable. I wish I could take her home. I saw a 12 y.o. cat for adoption. I'm always a softie for the older ones. I'm praying this little cutie gets a home. I'd hate for an animal to die in a kennel, although it's not a kennel, they have cat condos and rooms for the dogs, so it's not dogs behind bars.
I have my shift tonight at ARF. They are having Yappy Hour tonight, so I'll be out of there by the time it starts. I hope they make lots of money. Fundraising is so important. Luckily, Mr. La Russa has some very wealthy and kind benefactors and a lot of athletes. We're so lucky in that respect. They want for very little, but almost everything is donated. The Girl Scouts donated a ton of towels which we needed. The Fire Dept/EMS donate blankets that they can only use once, we disinfect them and they're great to keep the animals out of surgery warm. I'm kind of tired. I have to take Luke out and start drinking coffee! I hope I have a good shift. It's so physical, I have to work on getting my mojo up!
Thanks for the Grounds and Hounds pittie. She's too cute. I'm going to look up their coffee and buy some. Have you tried it Purps? I know you're the coffee go to person. Love you all!

Awww poor thing about the ears....I didn't realize that

Yeah I tried the Puppy Bowl Blend from Grounds & Hounds but I don't think I've had other flavors yet.

Hope you have a good shift!

Question,
why must dogs roll in the foulest smelling stuff they can find?
My long hair chi went out with me this morning to get fire wood and on the way back to the house I noticed half his back looked wet. It wasn't raining so I knew he found something. Well upon further inspection it was so foul he went straight in the tub and got scrubbed.

I think something dragged a fish carcass out of the woods and he found it because it smelled like rotting fish.

I had a poodle when I was a kid, she was white and very pretty, but boy did she like to roll is some foul things! I remember picking her up with dish gloves on to the tub! In the wild, it skews their smell I guess. Yuck-y.

Awww I hope your pup is back to normal, FK

Hey friends....not sure of you're familiar w/ Bark n' Bitches in Los Angeles....I follow them on IG ~ something's going on and they are having to close down....they're trying to get their animals back from LA Animal Services and there's a petition to keep their business open. I signed it and shared it on Twitter. Not sure of all the details why this is happening, but if anyone wants the link to the petition let me know.

fk, sorry about your pup! Dogs sure do like the stinky things! My little Yorkie has been smelling my cast where my incision is (for those of you who donít know, I had foot surgery on Tuesday). Itís like she knows exactly where the blood is. Ew!

Purps, Iíd be happy to sign the petition!

Just out of curiosity... have any of you ever been to Vanderpump Dogs?

Hope it's okay that I share the petition link here: https://www.change.org/p/bark-n-bitc...bark-n-bitches

I've heard of the Vanderpump shop and saw them on TV, but haven't been there.

Today was the information session at the Humane Society....to volunteer there is a one time fee which covers a tshirt + name badge, but I don't mind if it supports the animals. So we got a tour and starting tomorrow we can log in and sign up for training sessions. There is also an interview process before we can start working shifts. Saw some kitties and puppies while on the tour

Thank you, Purps for all you do to keep us aware!
I'm glad at least you aren't scared to talk to me after yesterday. I think we may have lost Hev and least for a while, anyway.
Oh brother. I still love them.
I love everyone here. Wishing love and peace to anyone struggling here or anywhere else in their life.
I think it's more than ok that you shared the link. If any one gives you crap, please let your loyal guard dog know. Lol. ♥♥♥

Our Yorkie puppy is back at the ER tonight. She had surgery 1.5 weeks ago for a foreign body that she ingested. Not to sound too gross, but they didnít have to cut open her stomach or intestines... they did one incision and were able to move the stuff out of her stomach and into her colon. She passed it at home after surgery. It was very much like sand, which she has no access to. Weíve been totally co fused as to what she could have ingested.

Today she started throwing up again (undigested food), wouldnít eat her normal food, her stomach is distended, sheís retching occasionally, so my husband and daughter took her back to the ER. I didnít go because I just had surgery on my right foot on Tuesday. Iím so worried about her. My daughter just texted and said thereís a 1.5 hour wait at the ER.

I hope your little doggie recovers from whatever is wrong.

Aly, you haven't 'lost me'. I'm right here!

Billie is taking her after supper nap in the den with me. She must have some cat DNA in her cause she naps so much. Of course, I used to think she might have some squirrel in her too cause she likes to eat acorns.

I had her DNA tested 3 yrs ago with Wisdom Panel and it said she was over half beagle, one quarter chihuahua, and the rest 'mixed breed'. She has a beagle shape but not the colors.

Daisy - Prayers for your Yorkie baby to be ok & to get home quickly.

Pasting this from my class thread. Thank you for all your thoughts. I appreciate it.

My husband called and the vet did xrays. Itís exactly the same crap that was in her stomach and intestines before! WTH?! Thereís NO way she ingested anything weird in the last 1.5 weeks. Iím totally confused. Theyíre keeping her overnight and pumping her full of fluids to hopefully flush her out. It hasnít caused inflammation yet, but it will if they donít flush her out. Iím at a complete loss. I have no idea what this is.

That is strange, and distressing. Can they tell what the blockage is made of? Very strange indeed. Prayers for doggie's good health.
