Thank you, Hevyn! Oddly, after my laundry, etc. shift I'm usu pretty sore, not so much today. I will take that!! The weather also seems to have stabilized for a little bit and that helps. I appreciate it!

I follow the National Mill Dog Rescue and they posted the sweetest video....each dog rescued from a puppy mill is introduced to a dog bed and blanket....most of them for the first time, so their reactions are adorable.

They also have a February fundraiser....for every $10 donated you can have a message put on a heart that hangs in the kennel....of course I had to pitch in after seeing that video! If anyone wants the link let me know.

Good morning everyone! I’d love to join your thread (thank you, PurpIrks!). We have two dogs and two cats. Here are our pups. A rescued lab/pit mix (male), and a sassy little Yorkie princess smiling for her photo op.

Purps, I'd love the link, when you get a minute. TY for keeping us posted on the puppy mills.
Daisy7, love the pics of your dogs! That Yorkie is too cute and your lab is so shiny and pretty. Welcome.
I have a big black German Shepherd we got from the NorCal German Shepherd rescue. He's an angel. We adopted him as a senior who had been abused and through some very hard times. He is so grateful and kind, and protective. He's got some Great Dane and I think maybe some Lab. All our dogs since I was young have all been rescue dogs. They're great.
Have a great day all! ♥♥♥

Alysheba, that’s so sweet of you. Sounds like he really deserves the loving home you’re giving him.

PurpIrks, I could too! My son and I are allergic to dogs, so we can’t have our lab/pit in our beds. We get hives whenever he licks us. Yorkies are hypoallergenic. Our cats are a little miffed that she’s in my bed now, but they’ll live.

fk, I know I said it in the other thread (or at least I thought it... my memory sucks!), but your dogs are so cute! I’ve always been a big dog person, but am loving having a little one in the house.

Daisy & Fishkiller - Great to see you both here. I love the pictures of your precious babies!

Daisy I was always a big dog person too. (Actually, I was more of a cat person until I met my husband - and he had big dogs who I grew to adore.) We had an English Mastiff & a Lab - they're both gone now. New babies will have to be smaller.

Our local shelter took in 20 pit bulls that were rescued. Everyone has been wonderful, giving money & time - helping them to not be so scared. A few already have people who want to give them a chance at a loving, safe home.

Purpl - It's wonderful you've applied to volunteer. How lucky they will be to have you.

Purps, I can't wait for that too! If you don't mind, please remind us of when it's on. Lol. You always are so together! They'll be having you do outlook/greeter yet... Just kidding, but like Hevyn said, The Humane Society is lucky to have you!! I love that pic too. He has to be at least part Bloodhound.
Hev, that is a lot of pitties at one time. Do you know anything about what happened or where they came from? Wow! Prayers for good homes for them.
My volunteer shift went really well Fri and my partner was there. The two of us together can get so much done. Like almost every piece of laundry in the place is done! It is interesting how some weeks it's all these blankets donated by EMS/Paramedics or it's all blankets. Just funny how it works out. Glad to see so many cat and dog condos full at ARF! Any luck and hopefully most of them are well, but I think it takes some time for some of them to be put out on display. Some come in so rough and within a week or two and they look so much better. Amazing how basic care, some routine, proper diet and a lot of dogs can look better very quickly.
I know I've said this before that doing laundry makes me feel really good and I meet so many people doing it, I keep thinking Tony La Russa is going to walk in!
Love and peace to all! ♥♥♥

Aly - I'm almost afraid to read the whole story. They arrested some people. I hope it wasn't fighting. The story said they were found in deplorable conditions. They were in Franklin, NY. Delaware Valley Humane Soc. has them. I'm so happy they are now surrounded by love & concern.

I'm glad you had a great shift. Does Tony ever visit there?

The poor things. It makes my heart hurt to hear about these fighting/hoarding situations. The dogs, what they go through to get rough looking and what it takes to get them disease/worm free, spayed or neutered, good food and water. The heartworm process alone is poison and some of them don't make it past that.

Any how, I have heard that Tony, sometimes with wife, sometimes not, does come in. They have these little fundraisers throughout the year and he comes to those. So, maybe I'll get to see him, maybe I won't, but the rumor is that he does come in! My dad loved him. I'd love to meet him or at least see him. He probably lives closer to the shelter than I do.

A while back I visited/interviewed at a shelter for a part time job....if it wasn't such a long drive I would've considered it....but there was this pittie named Cherish (I may have mentioned her before) but she was found tied up and emaciated....they took her in and nursed her back to health....what a sweet girl....anyway I just saw that she was recently adopted! I'm so glad 'cause I've been thinking about her.
