(((Aly))) I just saw a post that says "Everything feels impossible before a massive change takes place" ~ (I thought A change for the better, I hope!)

I'd want to take all the pups home too....in our March class we've joked about getting a sober ranch somewhere & all living there with lots of animals....maybe I've mentioned it on here too....you are welcome to join us if that ever happens

I hope things go in a better direction for you!

Thank you Purps! I love that quote. So kind of you to bring it to me!♥
I'd love to do that. Remember that place in Utah? It is called Best Friends. They take everything, I think. They take horses, birds, I think, all kinds of animals. I'd love to work with any of them. I'd probably be best with equine or canines! Wouldn't that be great a big sober ranch. I'd even take donkeys in, I think they are adorable,
Thanks again Purps, I'm feeling like some kind of change is coming or has started to change. I'm hoping something good comes from some of this negativity I've been living with. I bought a smudge stick a while ago. I think I'm going to smudge my room and the whole house, things permitting.
Have a great night. We can sleep in tomorrow! Yay.
How's the anxiety Purps? I have had horrible problems with it since I was a teenager. I hope you worked it away. Exersize is so good most of the time to get rid of it. Have a great evening..

Gosh, Purps, you are going to be 13 mos sober soon, if you aren't already! I am 23 mos sober and a week +. I remember when you first came here. I know when I first came, OMG, it took me forever to get any amount of sober time accumulated. Now I actually do and I can't believe it, but I'm glad and I'm so glad for you too.♥♥♥

Alysh, just saw your post from earlier. Sorry to hear about your having a tough go right now. Sounds like a sucky deal about your horse. It's so easy to get very attached to our animals friends.

It will get better soon.

I'm not far from Tallahassee, couple of hours. Couldn't imagine living anywhere else.

Thanks Aly ~ anxiety better since I did meditation + exercise....need to do the same today.....so nice of you to acknowledge my sober time....in fact I think today is 1yr + 1 month....and Wow you are almost to 2 years!

If I could be surrounded by animals it would also help with the anxiety....not much of a people person....definitely need to find a better job but that hasn't happened yet....

Side note: City Boy I'm in FL too ~ gulf coast!

2 years, 13 months, I'm just a newbie. LOL

I've always been more at peace around animals than most people. The VA hospital that my wife's grandfather was in towards the end had dogs just walking around in the hospital to help people with their anxiety.

I'm about 1.5 hours from the gulf coast but it is a passion of mine. Taking the kid fishing or the family scalloping, or doing a buddy trip (which will now be alcohol free), it's a great thing.

Welcome, Cityboy! How awesome that you are so close to Tallahassee. After all the big cities and big city suburbs I've lived in, a small town just really appeals to me. When I lived in Chicago, my family would sometimes go to Sanibel Island for vacations. I loved that too. I've just always had a connection to FL for some reason. I thought the area around Tallahassee was so beautiful, the hills and Spanish moss.
If you love dogs you're in the right place. Stick with SR and you won't be a newbie for very long! ♥
Purps, all my love to you!
Have a great day all! ♥♥♥

Purps, when I was in a band, I went to a drum clinic by John Mellencamp's drummer, Kenny, I can't really remember his last name, Aaronoff? something like that. He is one of the most sought after studio drummers. I got an autographed pic, which I lost. He was impressed that a vocalist was at a drum clinic. I always wanted to know how and what my bandmates were doing. I could always feel when it was or wasn't right.
Not dog, but Purps plays drums, right? Just wondering if you've heard of him.
I loved being in a band, but it is not the easiest thing to keep together a lot of times.

You guys are making Hev want to move from snowy NY to sunny FLA. So many of our friends & family have already gone there. Love it here, but January tries one's patience.

Aly - I'm so sorry for all you've been through. You must be stronger than you know to still be striving for the best life possible. It's difficult to not become bitter & resentful. I agree - we can't give up the pleasure & comfort of dogs.

That's awesome that you were in a band Aly! No, I haven't heard of him but that's really cool. I took drum lessons a couple years ago but it doesn't do much good if I don't practice....however I did get to talk to my rockstar hero (Shannon Larkin) & gave him a birthday card, in which I wrote how he inspired me to take drum lessons. I saw him a little while later and got a photo taken with him, and he said "How are the lessons going?" I was in such shock like Holy crap! He read the card! I couldn't say anything, I just stood there frozen like an idiot!

Anyway, at least the card I gave him was cute....it had a dog on it (of course) and it said "Dogs inherently know when someone is nice....Happy Birthday to one of those someones"

~ That was almost three years ago and I still can't believe it happened

That is totally cool, Purps!! Meeting him and having him remember that. I've always had a little thing for the rhythm section, usu drummers. They're so cool, I don't know why. That is really something to remember. Too bad, he didn't say, I love you so much, I'm going to cut my wife loose (if he's married, probably) and marry you! ❤
I used to know this drummer here, Tom Moran. He used to tour with Jefferson Starship as their drummer when he was really young. Now he's Dove Coz' drum tech. He was really into jazz, but could play anything. He teaches drum lessons and he's like a Julliard guy, so very into the details. If you ever come here, I'll introduce you!

LOL Yeah he is married....I'm glad to have met him a bunch of times though....I think like 7 times....(some of those times I was drunk) but I must've made an impression 'cause about a month after one of the meetings I met him again....went to say hi and he looked at me for a second, smiled, pointed, said "Hey, you...." came over and gave me a hug! .... Still can't believe that happened either.....at least he knows I exist!

Anyway he & his family have a Golden Retriever.....dog people are the best!

Is there a kitten bowl on today. I should just look!
I think little baby kittens are SO adorable, I really want to watch that one too.

Today Kelly Clarkson had some of the puppy bowl contestants on her show - they were so precious and funny. Strutted around - not shy at all. One in particular, Dante, was a real rascal. The man who narrates - Scott - was on the show & said all 96 will be adopted by show's end. I hope he's right.

Thanks so much Purps. What would we do without you???? ♥♥♥
I want to watch all of them and I have to watch the superbowl in between with SF being in with the very handsome Jimmy Garoppolo at QB!!! I wish I had one of those TV's that I could have a couple of channels on at the same time! I think I have a huge crush on Jimmy G. My dad played football and his name was James. Sounds like Jimmy should marry me. Lol!! He is the first man I've seen in a long time who is as handsome as that! I love KC though too. Their QB , Patrick Mahomes has some major talent. If he can stay healthy, God willing, he is going to be some kind of QB!!!! Sorry guys and gals, when you're raised by a football player, who is an athlete good at everything, I was raised with football. I'm going to watch both all the dog/kitten bowls in between. It will be fun.
