Not much gardening yesterday due to dentists
appointment late. However, I am seeing and hearing
my Hummingbirds flying around visiting my tall
lily plants with little red flowers on top.

These plants are hardy and grow where ever a large
seed falls. Even in rocks. They act like a beacon for
the Hummers to see and find nectar.

https://picclick.com/6-”-Red-Old-Fas...743771619.html

Yesterday, I saw the dentist or the root canal specialists
where they took xrays to determine what was causing
pain when I eat and drink. And why I cant open my mouth
wide.

From what he determined was that there is an
infection within one of my previous root canals
I had yrs ago. Even with the antibiotics im taking,
this infection is out of reach within the root of
this top tooth.

So tomorrow he will bore a hold and shoot some
medicine inside to get to the infection hoping that
this is the "root" of the pain im having. Then from
there he will be be able to rule out that situation
if pain still exists in my jaw line.

Now.....at, this point, and we don't really know
just yet.....but because of the expense of this procedure,
we may have to put off our Fall trip.

It's not something we wish to do, but in retirement,
we have to take first things first. What is most important
at this time, esp. if it affects our health.

I mean, im grateful to be as healthy as I am
at my age and want to stay that way. So, we
take care of this pain first, because what's
the point of going on a beautiful trip in pain.

Soooo, we will see what happens in the
next week or so and take it from there.

Until then....positive vibes from all with
much appreciation.

I’m sorry to hear that there may be a postponement on your trip, but at the same time thankful that the doc may be closer to solving the problem you’re having. The mountains will wait on you if need be, either way cooler temps and more pleasant outdoor time is soon to come.

Nothing new around the garden. Watering is about it for gardening activity at the moment. I will likely postpone purchasing any fall plantings until the first of October or so.

Wishing everyone a good day.

I wish you had about another week or 2 before
going on this trip, so that you can have a little
more time to get passed this situation.

You still have your other trip ahead of you to
look forward to and hopefully this vertigo is
gone gone gone.

Stay strong and positive and things will happen
as they should.

Speedy recovery sent your way.

Happy Friday and pain free to you today Mark.

That's awesome news to hear from you as you
prepare to embark on your family trip.

My dentist appoint. is at 8 am this morning as
the treat that root hoping it will do the trick.

Sleeping at night hasn't been a problem, thank
God....only during the day with off an on pain.

Yesterday, sadly my husband cancelled the trip,
which saddened me so much, but later acknowledged
why it had to be. With a new tv and the carport
we found on a good deal, then my dental procedure....
yep, it all adds up financially.

Sooooo, i cut my husband hair for the first time
which kept me occupied and it turned out nicely. Yay...
Back in the day, I use to cut my xhusband and sons
hair to save money. Yep, beauticians, barbers and
cosmeticians run in the family.

Anyway.....

Im so glad your dizziness has gone and now you
can put your focus on family and trip, enjoying
a change of scenery and atmosphere for sure.

We will be looking forward to your next post
following you on your amazing trip to Estes Park.

Maybe one day we can experience it too.

Have a safe trip.

Sharon,

I hope the dental appointment was productive for you! My goodness what twists and turns life can take. Iím so sorry that youíve had to postpone your adventure but certainly it wouldnít be fun at all to be somewhere beautiful and not be able to enjoy.

I do have a few pics to share from today....but given the disappointment youíve had Iíll admit to a bit of mixed emotions to do so. Anyway, there arenít too many wildflowers out this time of year, but I did find a few. No moose this time, but wow look at that big dude elk .....he wasnít far from the side of the road. What a set of antlers on that guy! Took a nice little walk around Sprague Lake and quite enjoyed the scenery.

Tomorrow we will drive trail ridge road up and over the continental divide....quite high up it goes. We will go as far as Grand Lake and check it out a bit and then make our way back stopping anywhere that looks fun.

Wishing everyone a pleasant Sunday.

Oh, WOW, Mark....!!!!!! Please don't hesitate to
share your pictures from this gorgeous place on
Earth.

Not to worry, i'm okay. And you are absolutely right.
If I was in pain on this trip, all id want to do is to be at
home. So, I am in the right place right now.

Yesterday, I was still experiencing pain in my lower
teeth and cant tell if what he fixed Friday, treating
a previous root canal I had yrs ago, changed anything.

When he took xrays of top and lower teeth, the top
rt tooth had and infection where the root canal was,
so he drilled, cleaned the area, treated it and sealed
it up.

The bottom teeth, where im having problems,
he could see where a back molar would need a
root canal done.

He decided to take care of the tooth up top
first because it was infected and it could have
contributed to the pain im experiencing. Now
that he has done that procedure, I can tell, that
wasn't what is causing me pain. There is still
something going on on the bottom teeth not
allowing me open my jaw wide and pain is still
persistent. Nooooooo…..

Soooo, another round of dental procedure is
on its way.

Anyway.....im okay with what needs to be done
now and maybe, just maybe, God willing, we will be
able to go to Colorado and experience Estes Park
like you guys are doing now.

In the meantime, share your pictures for us and
I'll relay them back to my husband so we both can
have an insight as to how beautiful it is where you
guys are at right now.

So good to know you are feeling better too and
able to report back to us all that you are experiencing
on your trip.

There is something magical about Colorado. Something
special that touches our hearts and minds. The majestic
mts, wildlife, atmosphere and surroundings. Colors and
sounds fill us with a renewed happiness.

Take a picture of your cabin if you can, so we can
see how close you are to the water. Okay?

Love the wildflowers and all there beautiful
vibrant colors. Sweet...!!!! And then the Elk....
That would definitely take my breath away
if I came that close to it, like you did. Stunning.

Enjoy your day today as we look forward to hearing
back from you on what you saw along the way.

Have a good one...!!!!

Here you go .....

One pic shows our little back deck and in that one you’ll see the little section of decorative rail fence in the background. The other pic I stood by the fence to give another perspective on proximity to the stream. I can sit here just inside the sliding doors of the cabin and see as well as hear the water. Of note though, just on the other side of the stream is the Fall River road (hwy 34). We do hear the road noise which is fairly busy during the day but it hasn’t been a problem. There are many lodging options here along Fall River road and it is a good location as far as proximity to Estes Park town and one of the national park entrances.

Ok, so time to get going!

Now that looks like a cool place to sit and hear
the rushing water. Tranquil, serene and peaceful.

Can you imagine being in that spot with snow
coming down? Everything Christmasy. Little
deer coming to the back door looking for a
smiling friendly face.

I'm anxious to read what you saw today
and seeing some neat pictures of some
wildlife, flowers, MOUNTAINS. And more
mountains.

Be safe and have a blast Mark with your
family and Colorado as your play ground.

Ha today we walked through a spruce thicket that smelled like Christmas trees and wondered if it’d be fun to spend a holiday here all tucked in for a snowy Christmas.

Today was a fun day spent mostly way up above the tree line alpine tundra. The trail ridge road is magnificent. For some reason I’ve a special affinity for the rocky lichen covered terrain. I included a pic of it that looks like a tapestry to me.....and we saw marmots up there too. Included are a few snapshots from different altitudes. Oh, to start the morning we watched two elk bucks locking antlers and battling it out. So fun. Also included is a pic of Grand Lake on the other end of trail ridge road from Estes Park. The town of Grand Lake was fun too and when y’all are here you may enjoy walking about. I’ve eaten too much maple fudge for a guy my age!

The marmot is hard to see but is sitting on top of the rocks in the second pic.

That wraps up our time in the park and a big thumbs up from me! Tomorrow is an afternoon flight home.

Very interesting terrain and marvellous geology Mark!

Is the purple flower a Monkshood/Aconitum variety?

Dear Lord, please protect our SR resident Mark
and his little family as they head back home from
a memorable trip to the Rockies.

Thank you soooooo much Mark for adding all those
pictures of the Rocky Mts., flowers and that cute litte
Marmot. Whatever it is....gotta go google to learn about
this little critter from the mts.

Whose that whiskery looking guy with the shades
standing in that picture at 12,000 ft elevation?

Looks like you can grow a full on beard and stash
and be ready to become a real Mountain Man.

We will waiting for your safe return for sure.

Here's a little info on that cute little Marmot.

Squirrel or groundhog.

Ha yes Iíll admit to being the whiskey guy.....now with more and more salt versus pepper in the mix. That rustic look will come off in the next day or two and then reappear on this next jaunt in a couple of weeks.

Marmots! If I could be an animal maybe thatíd be a choice Iíd make. They sleep all cozy in their den about 80 % of the year and then get to hop about the tundra eating the other 20%. I always have loved to sleep!

Speaking of that, our flight has had a huge huge delay thatíll get us back to our house at about 4:00am. My work schedule is crammed so will be a long day tomorrow starting at 8. But, itís just gonna work that way sometimes.

We came a different route from Estes park to Denver Airport this time and it was great. Iíll look it up and post it for your consideration Sharon. Yíall may very well want to try it when youíre up this way.

Wonderful to hear that you guys made it home safe
from a short, fun filled trip away to some beautiful
country.

As much as we'd like to go way up there in Montana,
I think heading to Colorado would be right where we'd
like to really spend some time at. I'll never forget how
I felt when we went thru Colorado may yrs ago.

To go back would be a dream come true.

I had a packet come in the mail a few days ago
on Colorado and with so much info online about
that state, my husband can put together a trip
for us to take sometime down the road. Hopefully.

Anyway....

Back to the routine and get ready to look forward
to your next great adventure. yay..!!!

Welcome back home and have a good one.

Whew....seems as tho the month of September
this year, 2019 here in Louisiana, has become the
hottest month to date in history. And boy have
we felt it.

Went outside to trim a few fence line Holly bushes
I turned into trees. I began trimming off all the bottom
branches to allow them to grow tall and provide shade
above a garden bed longer than the length of our pool.

I wanted to make sure that the above branches on
our side doesn't grow over the fence over to the
neighbors side.

After doing that, I moved a few plants into the
ground then took a dip in the pool to cool off
before lunch.

Today has been the first day to not have any
teeth pain in 3 weeks. Yay.....However, when I
open my mouth to take a bite of something, i'm
still struggling to open wide without the bottom
jaw feeling like it has dead weight to it.

My appointment isn't until Friday, so I still
have a few more days to see how the procedure
did last Friday. So far, it feels like the specialists
knew exactly what he was doing by taking care
of the infection first in the top tooth.

Now, we be patient and see what's the next step
come Friday. Another root canal????

Anyway.....

While outside after lunch, I had to open all my
umbrellas I had closed thinking we would have
some rain, but, the sun came out full force and
I wanted to give my plants some relief while
watering everything.

Then......I spotted several Monarchs flying around
AND.....a lovely black Swallowtail......Sooooo cool.

Now for some sad news......about a week ago, I
found a Swallowtail caterpillar floating in the pool.
Often I try to remain vigilant and scan the pool early
in the morning to make sure nothing has fallen in
during the night.

A few day ago there was a skink......a lizard looking critter
and good size that had found his way in the pool. Soooo
glad I found him and fished him out before anything happened
to him. Whew....!!!!

However, to find the little caterpillar made me sad.

Mainly because, if it was the one I had been watching
on my Rue plant, thinking he went off to become a crystalis,
I became emotionally attached to him. It's very rare that I
see a Swallowtail caterpillar so I got too attached to that one.

Sniffle sniffle...…

Sooooo, today to see a pretty Swallowtail flying around,
I wonder if she layed another egg on my Rue or somewhere
else.... ???? I guess, i'll find out some time soon if I am a
mom again....

Well....that's all I got for you today.

Hope All are well and if you have settled back into
routine Mark, after your trip?
