I'm not sure if a fib and tachycardia (fast beating heart) are the same thing but atenolol sure works for me - half a tablet daily keeps my heart from doing somersaults

That's what my doctor initially put me on, but about a year ago, there was a shortage in the US and he had to switch me to metoprolol, which works the same. Same class of meds, from what I read. Slows the heart rate. Works well for me.

Good morning Whiners, I'm back from doing my usual morning rigmarole and I'm having a coffee and a sit down for half an hour before I do a bit of work. I hope everybody's ok.

Ann, you have an amazingly positive attitude even when you've had an almighty kick in the whatsits.

I like the old expressions too Least, my grandma used loads and some of them were a bit rude to mention here but one she used to use when a person wasn't very nice was 'She's had a good beating with the ugly stick' lol.
I was always bad at math too, I still am, it was my worst subject at school ( many years ago).

Wow Suki, how clever, I didn't know that.

Good morning Mags, you must have needed that sleep. I hope all is well with you. xx

P.J you have surpassed yourself, you have come so far in just the few months that I have been posting here.
Stunning photo's, it all looks so tranquil, thank you for sharing them.

Back later. Love to all. xxx

Dee, what I have is a version of what you have (according to Dr. Google), we are not twins separated at birth but very akin to each other, medically.

Least, what you take is one of the medications I am taking, the other is a blood thinner to prevent clotting ( so they can whammy me with the paddles without causing a stroke).

I saw my local cardiologist this morning, who will work with the cardio-cancer specialist downtown, and I feel confident and good about having someone right here who will follow me and can handle emergencies. It's mostly a matter of getting it under control (like Least and Dee), and not as scary as I imagined, just not to be ignored.

PJ, I like your view of life...in your head and as you drive through the countryside. What lovely countryside it is. Makes me want to take a vacation....oh wait...that won't be working for me, lol.

Love the dates, Suki. Like Least, I like math because it makes sense and is logical.

They are here replacing the small window in my living room, it's part of the update of windows and this one will open nicely and let a better breeze flow through. So off I go away from the noise, as soon as they return from lunch.

Just took Billie for a short walk but she did not send a peemail. It's very hot today. Glad I've got a/c upstairs.

Evening Wonderful Whiners

Ann, I’m pleased you’re in good hands with your specialists.

Least a/c is a great asset to have, I’d wished I’d had it just for the few days of our heatwave. If our summers start changing and getting hotter I imagine more people wil have it in their homes over here.

PJ lovely pictures, thanks for sharing them

Been a lovely sunny day but really blowy, and Mr. M has been helping clear the attic, not thinking I emptied a big boxful of those little spongy things they use in packaging into the wheelie bin , where half of more of them just flew up in the air and it was like something out of Mary Poppins except I couldn’t magic them up and into the bin. Good old ‘pickerupperer’ helped me catch the escapees.

Love to all xxxx

Just got a scam call from a computer voice saying the call was from Microsoft and that there would be charges to my bank for my Microsoft account! I am so sick of these calls!!!

Billie finally sent a peemail. It's really hot today. I need to go downtown but it's too hot to walk so will ask bro to take me when he gets here. I don't want to get all sweaty after just getting out of a nice cool shower.

Mags, your referral to a/c makes me think of when I visited my brother in Alaska many years ago. They were having an unusual heat wave the first few days I was there but none of the stores or restaurants had a/c since they almost never needed it. It was in the high 80s and we just had to tough it out.

least the scam calls are getting worse nowadays, I get scam texts and emails. If it’s saying it’s from a bank I usually copy it and email it to the bank for their IT people to check out.

That heatwave would be an unexpected shock for your brother and people of Alaska! I sympathise. My sister bought a portable air conditioning unit that you put ice cubes or cold water in it and it blew out very cold air. It was lovely and mainly for their dog who is very furry. Only thing it was very noisy.

That is a lovely remembrance, Suki.
PJ - What a serene place - I love the pics. Very glad your check up went well.
Ann - I thought of you all night. Still can't believe this happened. Big hugs.

It's hard to come back from vaca. Can't seem to get back in my usual routine.

A while ago, Billie started barking so I looked out the front door and saw the mailman going down the steps. I went out and asked him if he knew the mailbox was by the back door. He asked if it was 934. I pointed to the bright red numbers above the door that clearly say "938". . He said, but where's 934? I said, it's in back. He had read the sign at the end of the driveway that says "934 in rear" but didn't get it!

I told him where the house was - right in back of my house, and he asked me for the mail. He had left the neighbor's mail inbetween my front door and storm door!!! . He asked where my mailbox was and I said, if you'd gone up the driveway you'd see it's next to my back door. By then I was pisssed. I gave him back my neighbor's mail so he could put it in their mailbox and told him to leave my mail in my mailbox!

This happens too often, I think cause we don't have a regular carrier anymore. But it's so clueless to just leave someone's mail inside their door without looking for the mailbox. He didn't even go up the driveway to look!! Sheesh!! Not to mention, he totally ignored my bright red house number plainly displayed!!

Suki, I remember exactly where I was on that horrible day. I was waiting for my mom to pick me up from the hospital after my carpal tunnel surgery. Didn't know why she was late. She finally got there and told me what had happened. I had no TV so I went to the babysitter's house down the street and watched it on her set. A day that will live in infamy.

Suki, that's a lovely tribute. I posted a prayer this morning to honour all who were there or had loved ones who were. For some reason this year I didn't look for memorials on TV, I remember the day vividly, I was on a 3 week job at a big newspaper in Toronto, got info as it came in, watched it unfold on the publisher's tv, and it was horrifying. I will take time tonight and light a candle and say another prayer for the victims.

Least, how frustrating for you. You couldn't make it clearer and they still mess up your mail.

Hev, don't rush out of vacation mode, take a couple of extra days on me.

I feel better now, the vacation will come as soon as I get this all under control.

Monday I have FIVE appointments in the city, it is good to get them all done in one day but Bubba will have to run to keep up with me, lol. One of the appointments is with the new Cardiologist who specializes in cancer patients, so I am confident he can get me set straight with medication.

Mags, I like the ice cube air conditioner. Doggy must have appreciated it.

Daisy, your grandmother sounds like a colourful character, I love feisty old people, hope to be one some day. Enjoy your day...which is now late evening there...I have trouble keeping up.

I think it's awesome that we have whiny friends here from all over the globe, all time zones, and yet we are like one big family.

Caramel, it's good to have you here.

PJ, I looked at your pictures again and they really are beautiful.

Pondy, hope the new pool is still refreshing for you. It must be lovely.

Venus, how is school coming along? Hope it is interesting and I know you can do well, just don't let it frustrate you.

Tomorrow is a free day, yay. I hope the sun shines, I am ready for an easy day again.

To add insult to injury, he came in at the front gate and didn't hook it when he went back out.

Ann, sounds like Monday will be very busy for you and Bubba.

It gets dark too damn early.
