Suze - Are you taking something for the pain?

Ann - I'm afraid to google it.

I just took a painkiller....one....I hate meds.....
Having a nice hot shower now.....surely that will help.
Sorry for whining, but I guess it's OK in this thread. s

(((Suze))) Where better to whine than Whiners? Hope the med you took helps relieve the pain.

Ann, sounds like a good lunch.

That Banoffee pie sounds delicious!

Poor Billie is hot. She got a huge drink when we came home. She was in the car while I was in the bank. All the windows were down but it was still hot. Now we're upstairs in the a/c and she's lying down. Dogs only sweat thru their tongues and the pads of their feet.

I've been whining up a storm for weeks.

I think you're actually behind in your whining, Suze. So have at it! Sorry, you're hurting, hope the shower helps.

Ann, I want wings and pie!! Hev, don't look!

Glad Billie is cooling off.

Billie is still scratching like mad. I broke down and got a loan so I can take her to the vet. I'm certain it's not fleas so it must be some kind of allergy. I wouldn't like itching that much so I know she's not happy.

She ate all her supper tho, so at least it hasn't affected her appetite.

Venus, hope the pain subsides soon. Maybe some of that pie would help...couldn't hurt. Have you had it looked at?

Every day I nap either before of after dinner, not sure why I am so tired then but I am out cold for a couple of hours then wake up okay. Fatigue is a side effect of my medication but it's one I can live with, especially when I am fine all morning and afternoon.

Ann - It's been an emotionally draining time.
I did look at the pie - oh nooo. Now I get it - bananas & toffee. There are some easy recipes online.
Loving whiny Garfield.

Opi - It might be as good as the Cannoli Cake.

Least - I'm glad you'll be getting advice for Billie's itching.

Ann, if fatigue is a side effect, naps are the perfect remedy.

Love the Garfield! That's classic.

Billie's appt is on Thursday cause she's due for two booster shots and they're discounted on Thursdays. I got the last available appt when I called. Good thing I called when I did.

I will give her benadryl for the next couple days as needed. It seems to help her stop scratching but want the vet to look at a skin sample under the microscope to see if there's an infection from the scratching. Jack used to have allergies in the spring and would get a steroid shot which lasted for a month. Usually he was done with allergies after a couple months.

I sent my vet an email, explaining the itching as the primary reason for the appt. The booster shots are important, but the itching is irritating her so much. I remember how itchy I was during withdrawal and I know she's uncomfortable, poor girl.

We had a bit of a T storm a while ago, but it stopped long enough for Billie to get her after supper walk. No dog bombs, but she did send a peemail. I can hear thunder so I gave her a thunder chew. Maybe it will calm her scratching a bit.

I don't know which MYPillows to get. They have a two-pack promotion going on but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to get the premium or premium platinum. Oh, and what fill do I get? According to the site, I'm to get a yellow fill.

Maybe, Ann will stop back and let me know.

Hev, nothing beats cannoli anything. lol
I don't dare make them, I'd eat the whole bunch ... sooner or later.

Least, maybe you can give Billie a bath?? Might soothe her skin.

Opi, choosing a pillow should be easier than that! What do you mean a "yellow fill"?? What's that?

I use a Sobagara pillow, filled with buckwheat hulls. Can't wash it so I keep a cover on it and wash that instead. I love my buckwheat hull pillow. I used to have a stiff neck all the time from my work, but the pillow helped a lot.

Took Billie out for potty a while ago. Got wet standing in the rain for nothing, as she refused to go.

I have some dog shampoo but don't know if it's still ok to use as it's very old. I mean, like 20 yrs old. I don't know if that would affect its use. I will email the vet to ask what's a good dog shampoo. Just checked in the bathroom and there's no dog shampoo, so I must have gotten rid of it. I'll call the vet in the morning.

It would be great if I could use my tar shampoo I use myself. I got it many years ago for itchy scalp and it helps a lot. I can ask my vet if it's ok to use on Billie.

Suze, how's your pain? I hope the med you took gave you some relief.

Least, yellow fill is how much stuffing they put it the pillow. Like if you want a soft, medium, or hard pillow. Ann recommended the pillows, so I need to find out what she ordered. The pillow I have now hurts my neck. Seems I'm fighting with it all night. I'm fed up ...

I'm sure the Vet will recommend a good shampoo. You can't use human shampoo, it's too harsh on their skin. I just googled and found a few. They don't seem too expensive.

Opi, if your pillow is hurting your neck, get a Sobagara pillow. I swear by it. Google "sobagara pillow" and read what you find. They are great pillows.

I won't use anything on Billie unless the vet says it's ok.

Suze, hope you’re feeling better love and hope the shower helped. ’s

Ann, I love the garfield too!

Banoffee pie, it was my first taste of it the other day, as there was always something more tempting on the menu! But I loved it!

Hoping the pic turned out!

I can’t seem to put the photo on this thread, can do it ok on other ones though?

Going with Mr. M to hospital this morning, then going to go back for him later, he says no point us both being bored there. It’s the local hospital in town. I’ll do a bit of shopping after I leave before going home to a pile of washing. Thank goodness for automatic washing machines.

Though I never had one, I do like the idea of twin tub washing machines. They did need your attention most of the time though.
They were orderly though, I liked that!

Love to you all. xx

Mags, my maternal grandma had an old wringer washer out in the washing shed on their farm. I remember watching her running it. It was quite an innovation at the time, a real labor saving machine. That was in the late 50s and early 60s.

I look at the washer I have now, the cheapest of the lot, and it's complicated compared to early washing machines. Technology is amazing!

I have to be going to bed. Nighty night whiners!

Good morning Whingey Whiners and a happy Tuesday to you all.

Ann, I totally agree with you, bald is beautiful, real beauty shines from within and yours shines like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day.

Oh no Venuscat, I'm so sorry about your poor elbow, that must be really painful. Please take care and look after yourself.
I hope those contractors cleaned up after themselves, you could have done without that yesterday.

Have a great day yourself Opi and keep away from thorns and anything that hurts legs or hisses.

I hope your power stays on Least.I feel so sorry for animals when its very hot, poor things, they have to wear those fur coats whatever the weather. I hope you get her scratching sorted.

Mags, I'll be thinking about you and Mr Mags today, I hope all goes well. xx

Hevyn, just for you. xx

Enjoy

Laters xx
