Suze, I hope your eyes are better tomorrow. If the rain would ever quit! Your little plants will perk up so quickly when the sun shines on them. be careful out in the flooded roads! there are some roads flooded here, but only a few. I don't get any high water here, so far anyway.

Opi, I'd have done the same thing, only someone would have been watching me. lol I wish we could all come and help you get all caught up with your yard work. Ice cream and Cheez-its are perfect summer fare. Tornado snacks , in case. I wish you could get a second opinion on your car. Have you looked online, in case you can pinpoint what is going on? sounds like some sort of component, if it kept your door from opening? hugs...

Ann, glad it was a better day

love you all whiners.... I can hardly hold my eyes open, so anything I write at this point is gonna be worthless, probably.

Chic, I feel backed into a corner. Everyone I call has a charge for running the diagnostics. Non-refundable ... even if they can't fix it. The door is the icing on the cake. I think a cable or something broke inside the door handle.

So, 200 dollars upfront to find out what's wrong and then we go from there? Well, what choice do I have? The car needs to be fixed, I can't crawl along at 20 mph.

IDK, my head is still pounding. I feel sick to my stomach can't even eat my tornado snacks!

Thanks for the support, everyone.

Suze, I sure hope you feel better. Would an ice pack help with the swelling? Maybe you need to see the Doctor for medication?

Ann, you made my day!

I love my trophy! So happy you and Bubba relaxed today.

The Dada movement was a reaction to the horrors of WW1. Almost as if nothing mattered....the Urinal has caused contention ever since.

The great thing about SR-we all have our own battles- and here we share and cope a little better.

Suze, can you take medicine for the allergies? Jack used to get allergies in the spring and the vet would give him a steroid shot and that lasted a month.

Chic, were you off today?

Look what I found on twitter about the origins of 46 words. Language is fascinating.

https://www.buzzfeed.com/tomchivers/...bfsharetwitter

Billie ate her supper. I haven't been adding broth to her food anymore and she is still eating all of it.

Opi, I wish I could send you my mechanic. If he charged for a diagnostic, it would be a reasonable charge. I hope you can find someone trustworthy to look at it... and not bankrupt you in the process. Cars are a necessary evil. Very handy to have except when they go wrong. I will keep you and your car in my prayers for a solution.

PJ, I had to look up Dada to refresh my memory of what little I remembered of it.

Morning Whiners

Some great whining going on! Pleased to see the gold cup was given. well deserved!

Suze, hope you rested your eyes and they’re feeling better. Have you tried slices of cucumber on your eyes? They may help if you don’t have an allergic reaction to cucumbers. I know what you’re going through love. Rest well. ’s

Least, I love reading about words and their origins! Thank you for the link. I’m going to copy and paste it into my notes. So pleased Billie is eating her food right up now.

PJ, I know the meaning of Dada as what babies say to their daddies’, and also when you make a surprise entrance or a magic trick. ‘dadaaaa’.

Opi, grasping at straws here, is your car under warranty, or when they get the diagnostic, is it covered at all. With there being that many things the diagnostic machine can find, many times it is not too serious. (Hopefully she says, crossing her fingers and toes).

I thought it was Saturday when I woke up, it doesn’t matter that it isn’t but I take a special tablet just on a Saturday morning on an empty stomach with just water. Then I have to sit upright for half hour and no food in that time, just water. It’s for osteoporosis, a preventative really as the steroids I take can cause crumbling of the bones...... funny, I don’t think they’ve quite mastered medications just yet, they save your life with one hand but can cause more problems with the other!

I think that’s my whine this morning, albeit a small one!

There’s no rain here at the moment. It went dark yesterday on and off, kept looking like thundestorms were coming, but I didn’t see or hear any, unless they came whilst I was sleeping. The ground outside is all wet!

Love to everyone, see you later.

Mags, what time is it where you are? It's nearly 1 am here.

I have gotten back into my old second shift schedule of staying up late and sleeping later in the am.

Our rain seems to have stopped, thankfully. It's supposed to be sunny and warm tomorrow. I hope so. I'd like to get in some dog walks.

I remember reading somewhere that there is real benefit to cucumber slices on the eyes. Can't remember what it was, but I know I read it somewhere.

Good afternoon Whiners, I hope you're all having a good day/night. I'm just back from nipping back to school as live in G.son forgot his guitar and needs it for assembly. This morning I went to the hairdressers for a trim, plonked myself down on the sofa with a coffee and a magazine for my hairdresser to come over to me all confused looking. Turns out my appointment is for next Friday, not today, I'm such a dimwit, it gave the customers a laugh though. I'll have to put up with my sheep dog look for another week.

'Whining in the rain' sounds good to me and very apt as I think most of us have been doing just that over the last couple of weeks.

I did sleep well Ann, thank you and though the sun isn't exactly shining, it isn't raining today..... yet.
I am glad that and your bubba are feeling much better and I hope that awful nausea is easing up, a few days of doing not very much of anything would do you both good.

That's a beautiful photo P.J, thank you for sharing it.
I'm sure I could make some sort of a flower display with that urinal and hang it on the garden fence, that'd give my N.F.H something to moan about.

I hope you and Mr Mags are both having a good day Mags. I'm glad your cats are back to normal after their visit to the vets.

Opi, it sounds like you had one of those days, no wonder you needed ice cream and cheese-its. I don't like cars and anything that they entail, they are just a huge expense. Anyway, I hope your headache is much better today.

Eek Venuscat, stay safe, that photo reminds me of some of the floods we've had here the last couple of weeks, though we've been lucky where I live. Water does so much damage and some if it doesn't appear until weeks after the event. I'm sorry about your plants, hopefully they will soon perk up again. I hope your eyes feel better today. Stay safe. xx

Hevyn, we've had some major adjustments too work wise, I took voluntary redundancy a couple of years back to look after my dad when he was very poorly, the redundancy offers came at a good time for me, though it wasn't a great deal of money, then Mr D.B got a 9-5 job at a little plumbing company just down the road from where we live. He used to work 7 days per week plus late nights at his previous job, so we don't have the money that we used to do. We just have to be careful. Changes all round.

Least, people deserve to be prosecuted for leaving dogs in hot cars with the windows closed, it's just plain cruelty. I'd happily break a window too if I saw a dog in that situation. I'm so glad Billie is back to eating normally again.
Thank you for the interesting link, I feel educated now.

I hope you slept well Chicory and are feeling all refreshed today.

Back later, time for a coffee break. x

It is officially summer here, winter for PJ and those down under. Please let the rain stop and let the summer sun shine through.

Bubba and I both feel quite a bit better today yet feel like being cautious and taking it easy again. It's weird when we both don't feel well at the same time. The sun is shining and I think we will at least manage a short river walk and maybe sit on the patio for a while, the new umbrella table is getting good use.

Opi, I hope you can get to the bottom of this soon and inexpensively. Have you contacted the manufacturer? Years ago I was paying a fortune for a dealership mechanic to try and find the electrical problem that was shutting down my less-than-two year old Ford Escape...in the end Ford paid for the repairs. I think it was a defect and paying was cheaper than doing a "recall". Worth a try.

Oops, gotta run, back later to catch up more.

Boy, step away for a bit and the whines just pile up.
I hope that everyone not feeling 100 percent will find relief.
Itís terrible to be in pain and to have system upsets.
I have been on an eating program, called Noom, for several weeks.
Itís really about incorporating more fruits and vegetables into meals, cutting back on carbs, and minding portions.
Iíve lost 4 lbs., which is great, but the real bonus is that by eating more slowly and eating smaller portions, my acid reflux has pretty much disappeared.
I have long known that I eat too fast and too much.
Rain here, too, which is a drag, as I have. Few more plants to get into the shade garden. I donít like to leave them in their pots for more than two days, and because of the weather, itís going on 4.
Heck, I may just plant in the rain.
At least the ground will be soft.
Iím gonna! Byyyeeee.

Opi, it's probably the inside door handle itself. If the cable to the door latch was broke the outside door handle wouldn't work either. Post the make, model and year of your car, I'll help figure it out.

I thought I had something to whine about, however, after reading a bunch of these post I believe I'm sitting pretty good.

Done. Fastest planting Evan. An autumn fern, two lupine, two poppies and a heucherella are in the ground.
And I donít have to water because itís raining again.
Silver lining!

Goodness, I was up until 5 am. I tried every trick in the book to shut my mind down. NO ... it was relentless. Anyway, there is nothing to be done, but to pay the money and fix the problem. I did research the warning light, but it could be a multitude of issues. I have no warranty, no recourse until I at least know what the problem is. Even the door handle would require taking the whole door apart ... I'm no mechanic, nor do I have the proper tools or part to fix it.

There are people with much worse problems. I need to stop, take a breath and accept reality. Sheesh, I've exhausted myself with all this whining.

I'm sure, I'll set a record on Monday when I get the bill. lol

Thank you so much. Whiners are winners!!

Love you all so much. The rain has stopped and the sun is shining. Time for yard work, hopefully, I can trim the bushes without a catastrophe!

Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Opi - You'll be so relieved to get it done - but I'm sorry for the cost.
It's fine to whine, big or small - they're all important. No whine is too insignificant!

Maudcat - I'm going to plant in the wet too. Really no choice, since it hasn't dried up around here in 2 mos.

Ann - I can imagine how unnerving it is when you're both not feeling well. Hoping you can enjoy your weekend - always thinking of you & sending prayers up.

Oops - Whinus interruptus - must go answer the door. Please don't be a tiresome neighbor.

Opi, I'm sorry for the car repairs that are driving you nuts. I understand all too well. I hope you can find a good mechanic to fix it without going broke.

It's a warm sunny day here too. Just took Billie for a walk.

Hev, hope it's not an annoying neighbor.

Maudcat, sounds like you got a lot done.
