I would probably like that. I detest beauty pageants and find them demeaning. I could identify with Dumplin.

Pondy, I hope lamp’s blood pressure has settled. You took care of the situation brilliantly.

Ann, that’s a great suggestion for overthinking, a walk can usually help. Gorgeous photos of the ospreys, I just saw the two young ones, aaaww.
Good planning with the sickness ahead of the church!

Least, I’m pleased Billie’s emissions are working well!

Suki, I agree that you ought to ring the doctor for emergency when you’re suffering so. ’s

Caramel, that sounds a good movie, I thought I’d seen it but I haven’t! One for my list to watch, thanks!

Hev, I’m pleased your walk helped you. It always helps me too but sometimes we forget, good reminder from Ann.

Maudcat, Dumplin looks like a good movie too! It peeves me how females are expected to look the part with perfect bodies!

Least, that’s good that the firemen came over so promptly and fixed your smoke alarm. Ours broke, I think I need to get a new one, you can get them with a carbon monoxide detector now I think I saw.

I’m feeling pretty stuffed up this morning. The rhinitis and pollen are all adding up to give me blocked nose and headache. I have the air purifier on constantly and it’s showing good, but nowadays it takes me a couple of hours to ‘come round’ in a morning! So frustrating!

Sending Lots of love to everyone. xx

PJ, is that a tree in the road? *asks the back seat driver* Love love your drives.

Toothaches are the worst, hope you can get thee to a dentist.

Least, glad the fire department could help you so quickly.

Mags, spring is causing much sneezing and stuffiness around here too. The air is full of pollens and stuff.

Maud, I will watch for that movie too. Beauty pageants are not only demeaning to both participants and those not "Barbie" perfect, they encourage " looks" discrimination in jobs and life . ALL people are beautiful, God gave each one of us our own special gift and I am pretty sure good hair and a starvation diet ravaged figure wasn't in the plan. Who heard of anorexia during the Great Depression when hungry people needed something to eat?

I am almost ready to take my morning medication and I thought if something that would help...if I could move taking them to evening. I am usually home sitting around anyway in the evenings, I have time to just relax and let the nausea pass while reading or watching TV and it won't mess with my daytime, when I am busy. I go for a follow up next Wednesday and will ask. I can't see why not.

I am timing myself for church this morning, it's a lovely day and I plan to enjoy it.

Hope everyone has a swell day too.

PJ, I thought it was a tree in the road, but I think you’re in a lay-by taking the picture. Hope your toothache clears off.

Ann, it sounds like a good plan with the meds unless there’s a special reason for taking them in the mornings. I’m sure the doc will let you know. Hope you have an enjoyable service at your Church (and no sicky feelings while you’re there) x

It keeps coming over dark clouds here, but rain managing to stay away at the moment.

I purchased my usual sunflower hearts for the birds in a big sack, saved half the price of the normal cost. The birds have been busy this morning. A squirrel came on the lawn and ran to the tree but couldn’t see him then, he was hidden behind the bush. He’s a crafty one though, tips the peanuts out of the container! I’ve been thinking of getting a squirrel feeder for a while now, it has a lid so he goes and lifts it up!

I'm thinking of Suki, hoping her hands aren't causing too much pain.

Ann, Enjoy your morning at church. It's a good idea to discuss medication timing at your appt, finding a schedule that works better for you.

Lamp is making a list of questions for her follow up appt June 12th. She'll see both the nutritionist and the surgeon. She'll be transitioning to phase II of her post op diet and we're curious to see what's allowed. We do know it's mostly pureed and soft foods and it'll last 6 weeks.

The surgeon wants his patients to focus on where they are, so doesn't give out Phase II info till it's time. Phase I has been a liquid diet, which is tough

I booked my ticket home for Friday June 14th and it was expensive! Oh well, it is what it is. Lamp will have a solid two weeks of recovery and I'm ready to see Mr. P, GiGi and my pond and gardens....not to mention the pool work starting very soon !

Where is our Daisy Belle?

I am pretty sure Daisy said she would be away until the 9th (today), she posted that on another thread. I miss her too and will be glad to see her back.

Pondy, Lamp will adjust to the new diet and hopefully will heal well. I know you miss home and it's good that this is almost over.

Gotta run.

Good morning whiners! Just woke up out of a strange dream. It's just on the edge of my memory.

Pondy, I'm glad you were able to be there for lamp's recovery.

PJ, hope your headache goes away.

Suki, did you get some relief from the pain in your hands?

I know I mentioned it somewhere on SR.
I loved it as much as you did Maud.

Very glad to hear about Lamp's progress dear Kim.
Gosh you are a wonderful mum. xx

I got her home and bp meds in, resting now, but believe me if it can't be managed, I'll call the service and you can bet it'll be an emergency ! I think it's harder for people to advocate for themselves, as I could see myself waiting....which is silly.

Again....amazing mother. And absolutely!!!! That is a big emergency. In my opinion. s

I had the option to speak to their answering service, so I chose that option. When my call was finally answered, I said I wanted to leave a message for my doctor. I was asked if it was an emergency. I said not exactly, but would like her to get the message before Monday. I was told she would only get the message if it was an emergency. So, I guess I'll have to wait two more days before I have any chance of relief. My hands hurt so bad.

Anyway you could go to Urgent Care? Maybe they don't deal with strong pain meds, I don't know. I am so upset for you.

I wonder if a warm gel pak would help at all?

Sending love. Praying that your pain lessens.

Pondy - I'm very glad you posted. That was so scary.
Suki - I'm thinking of you too, hoping the pain has subsided.

PJ - Do you have an actual toothache or were you just comparing your headache to a toothache? Regardless, hope you get through it ok & continue your drives to ward off negativity.

Mags - MrHev suffers greatly this time of year too, & we've gone through dozens of tissue boxes.

Ann - Great idea about taking meds later in day - easier to roll with at that time maybe. I wonder how long it'll take to get used to the new stuff?

Filled the birdbath yesterday & during the night something knocked it over. It's a very heavy one, too. Maybe a raccoon? They're nocturnal. I doubt a bear would've done it.

Poor Suki, I am feeling so sad for you. I think its an emergency if you are in terrible pain, over a weekend. Surely the dr wouldn't want you to suffer.

Pondy, its great that you have been able to be with Lamp during her recovery from surgery. thats a pretty serious operation, as I have heard. Wishing her well. Won't it be nice when you can relax around your newly finished pool?

My vaca is drawing to a close. wahhhh

love you all!!!

I called the answering service again and said I had an extreme pain emergency and she took my information and said an on-call doctor would call me back. When the doctor called...he was very nice, but said he cannot call in a pain med since he hasn't seen me, which I can understand. He said to try doubling the dosage by taking two pills three times a day and see if that helps. He said I can safely take up to 900mg at a time, but to try 600mg first.

Suki, I hope taking a larger dose relieves the pain.

Just took Billie for another walk because I could. She was not too enthused about it and was hanging back. She sniffs everything! She's fascinated by bird poop and always sniffs it carefully. At least she's not trying to eat it.

I am rooting for you too, Suki, hope that works.

Least, how are you doing? Did you get things moving yet?

I hope it's okay to share this here, but a while back Chic asked if she could paint one of my pictures, a barn on a hill with evergreens. She has sent me updates as she progresses and she is one talented, fantastic artist. She absolutely captured what I saw and how I saw it.

I share this because I have always believed that each one of us has a special gift, something that can bring us joy and brings beauty to the world. It may be something tangible, or it may be an ability to touch hearts and share yourself with people who need a friend, or your love for animals and flowers and all things lovely and passing the message to others....each of us is different but the gifts are plentiful and if anyone cannot see their "gift", send me a note and I'll tell you what I see because I know you all well and have felt your gifts all the way up in Canada.

I needed to say that because you are each very special to me and I love you all.

I had a restful day, enjoying the action on my patio. The bird bath is quite a hit, they line up sometimes and wait for their turn.

Rain is predicted tomorrow so it may be haircut day at the good mall.
