Maud, I worked for 50 years, mostly for myself (accountant) but I connected with colleagues, clients, and just nice people in business, every day and retired when I sold my business and we moved north. At first I was a bit bored with retirement. Then I got a call and I worked part time, my choice of hours and 3 months in Florida every year, for a friend/accountant. So I was semi-retired for about 5 years and then our sickness and need to travel back and forth to the city for medical checkups, tests and treatments meant I retired completely.

I don't miss working at all, my time is full today with nature and family and friends. If I get tired today, I can nap...I value my quiet time.

I am glad you are giving yourself time to do the things you love. If you decide to work again one day, it will be on your terms and that alone makes it enjoyable.

Billie did not eat her breakfast this morning. I wish I knew why. I added the broth but she just refused it.

Can you talk to your vet and ask for suggestions, Least? Poor Billie may need some medication or help.

Whoa, whiners! Just look at you go...whining your little hearts out. I'll have to catch up with all the news later. I just got internet back after a storm. More storms on their way tonight.

The bag I want to replace is a Sak. I love the quality, but the color wasn't a practical choice.

PJ - I'm so glad your hand is feeling better.

Least - I feel bad that Billie stopped eating again.

Chic - I decided to wait to plant stuff since we're getting hail tonight & a possible tornado. (Very rare here.)

Daisy - Good news about your teeth. A few of mine were saved by porcelain veneers - bonded onto failing teeth. They look great & it was done very quickly.

Back later to read.

I am glad you called your vet, Least, I think if he was seriously concerned he would have had you bring her in.

I hope the soft food works until the new month money comes in.

Chicory, a sak handbag with a wide strap sounds ideal, that's a lovely present and very useful.
I like the term 'volunteer flowers' I must try and remember that one. Your childhood sounds idyllic with all your aunts together in your grandma's kitchen, I bet your learnt loads, there is nothing nice than home grown fresh produce.
I hope you had a good day too.x

Ann, I hope the going away party went well and I hope the lady who the party was for enjoyed herself.
That cheesecake looks devine, strawberries too, my favourite, oh well as my slimming group leader would say 'a minute on the lips, a lifetime on the hips.' I'd still chance a slice though.

That cartoon is brilliant Suki, so funny. xx

Mags I could whine plenty too about jumped up managers and changes for the worst in the work place.

Maudcat I don't miss my job either, in fact I don't know where I found the time to go.

Least how is Billie tonight? How does she seem in herself? Is she eating anything? Is she eating her treats? Is she toileting as she should be?

I'm glad you've got the Internet again Hevyn. Thank you re my teeth, your porcelain veneers sound good. I can't wait to get mine sorted, I'm really excited about it.

I'm delighted to say Billie ate all her supper tonight.

Yes, she's going potty as she should. Drinking water too.

No ideas for a title. Someone please come up with one.
