Suze, I've got 8 days of antibiotics, that should be enough. I will look into the cranberry capsules.

Hev, yes, in the mountains there are critters who don't like cats. Best to keep them inside for their own safety.

Oh good least.... pleased to hear that.

And the first flowers are indeed what Hev said, also called Superbells. I have the pink and tangerine growing in the back. xx

Mags honey ~ you can train them. I did. More than three times.....they are smart as, and if they know you don't want them to do this, they can learn. Venus did, my first cat Jazz did, and I taught the little kittens next door (before I left Melbourne) not to hurt the birds. Even the squirrels are trainable....they know what plants to stay out of now....I tell them off, and they bolt. Then just come back to the food bowl and look at me....ha ha....so sweet.

Oh how I love living here....I would NEVER have seen squirrels running up a tree and over the power lines when I open up the curtains and blinds in the morning.

Hev.....I don't know if it is the soil, but I do choose my soil. Miracle Grow. All the way. Lots of different versions of it for whatever you need. And plant food, liquid, but I barely use it....I just love them. Maybe they feel it. And LOTS (not too much, but every day almost) of water. And pruning....dead leaves and flowers stop plants from being happy. x

Suze - I'm going to try harder to give them special attention. I have some off brand 'miracle grow' type stuff, but I think I'll toss it & get the real thing.

I am nuts Hev, as you know, and nuts about plants.....so I spend way more time on them than most people. I absolutely should have been a horticulturalist. I adore this stuff.

Thank you all for your kind words regarding my lovely grandson no.1. I have calmed down now, I was heartbroken for him this afternoon.
The head teacher phoned my daughter back and advised her that he was horrified to read her email. Apparently two boys were involved and have been put in isolation for the rest of the week. The head contacted both boys parents, who were mortified and shocked and would be addressing the issue with their sons when they arrived home from school. The head will also be having a meeting with the parents and the boys at school to discuss the matter further.
This is the 3rd incident of bullying my grandson has suffered since starting at the school last September, my daughter and her husband have discussed taking him out of the school and putting him in a smaller one but for the most part he is happy there and has several good friends that he has been at school with since he was 5, so for now, a very close eye will be kept on him.

Argh no wonder you've had headaches Mags if your blood pressure is high. Is that usual for you? Did the doctor tell you to cut out salt etc? I hope you're feeling better now but do as you are told and take it easy.
I wish I was skinny!

Gorgeous panda's Suki. I wish I could go and see them in that park when it opens.

Thank you so much Chicory, as if life isn't hard enough for our precious special needs children. My daughter and her husband are fabulous parents and they will work through this together. My grandson and his sister are very loved.

That's good news Least, so glad Billie 'performed' for you. I hated high school too, makes me laugh when people call them 'the happiest days of your life,' well they certainly weren't mine!
Look after yourself, Uti's are not funny, I hope you feel better very soon. xx

Thank you Venuscat, you have no need to be sorry, the bullies are being dealt with accordingly.

Venus, I have heard you speak of those flowers so am glad I have something that will work well. Sorry someone annoyed you but don't give them the power. I find most annoyances are more about "them" and not about me at all. Just keep walking, no need to stop and soak it in.

Daisy, I am glad nobody is taking this lightly. It's a horrible thing, bullying, and it must be dealt with severely.

And thanks Hev, they are so pretty and bright. I also put myself on their call lost for when the portulaca come in.

The swing I looked at won't work on our patio, not to give us the shade we want. A square umbrella table is the answer I think and I am watching the sales on line.

I lost my bank card, at the nursery I went to pay with it and it wasn't where it always is in my wallet, I had checked my bank this morning and nothing was amiss with my account. So I went to the bank, stopped the old card and got a new one....and then came home and found my lost card in my coat pocket.

It is now in teeny bits in the garbage.

Daisy, glad the bullies are being dealt with. My brother was bullied in high school so badly my parents took him out and put him in a private school for the rest of his high school years.

Ann, sorry you had the aggravation of losing your card... only to find it when you got home.

Billie ate all her supper. I added a bit of broth to tempt her into eating it.

That's great news, Least.

Daisy - I feel better now - it seems to have been handed very well. That incident has bugged me all day.

Ann - Frustrating about the dang card. Isn't that always the way?

Sounds like when my driver lost my car key a couple years ago. He had to pay to replace it, and it was expensive. One of those smart keys. I had to prove who I was and that it was my car. It takes a while and they have to program it. A few months after getting the replacement key, he found the missing key and I paid him back for the new one. Now I have three smart keys instead of two. It cost well over two hundred dollars for the new one.

Billie is still taking her after supper nap.

Pondy, how goes the pool?

Chic, how did you manage to get two days off in a row?

Oh I’m enjoying reading about all the plants, it’s giving me some enthusiasm to go to the plant centre today and spend my gift vouchers I received in September last.

Daisy, I’m pleased the school has done the right thing by your g.son. The bullies should be reprimanded, for your g.son but to stop any future bullying too. I hate bullying. As do all of us I know. I’m pleased they spoke to the bullies parents too!

Suze, I love the idea of training them to not hunt but they’re young and there’s so much going on out there, so many trees with nests in. I wouldn’t know where to start but I will look it up as that does interest me a lot thanks.
It’s 3.30 am ish here and they know I’m awake so they’re playing up to get me up, little monkeys.
I’ve decided to keep them indoors for a few days anyway, just to save the anguish but Mr.M says good look with that!

Oh Ann, how frustrating to find your bank card later....says Mags who has done that too in the past! Hope you find your square patio table and umbrella, and hopefully a bargain at that!

Daisy, doc said it could be a sinus infection, I don’t take too much salt as usually have to have saline drops when in hospital. Then again I think most did on the respiratory wards.
I keep pretty much to what I know, eating wise, but I went to a meeting at village hall and there was an air freshener high up on a shelf apparently. Most of them can give me a reaction, so it may be that or a continuation of a virus I’m on anti biotics for. It’s a mystery but one I’m going to be aware of and hopefully get to the bottom of.
I can’t do that headache again. Please God.

My cats are being so naughty I’m going to get have to up. Then have a glass of water. Think I’m going to cup down my coffee intake or buy decaf I’ve decided. Now I want to look up recipes for fruity hot drinks.

Good morning Whiners, 06.15 here and I'm starting the day off with a good whine. My Internet crashed last night so I made an involuntary exit before I finished my posts!

I have some orangey/yellow coreopsis in my front garden Maudcat, they are lovely and attract the bees and butterflies.
Your son sounds like a very capable and skilled young man, a credit to you I have no doubt.
I'm sorry you have RLS, that's no fun and if it were me I would want them fixing now too. Who knows by the time you are older they might have found a cure for them anyway.

Hevyn, thanks for your kind words, school finishes for half term next Friday and they have 2 weeks off, then it finishes for summer around 24th July. Hopefully there will be no further incidents of bullying for him, I really felt for him yesterday.

Thanks Least, the school does take bullying seriously and stepped in quickly to put a stop to it. I'm sorry your brother was bullied at school too, I abhore and kind of bullying or cruelty, I can't tolerate it. I hope you are feeling better today and I hope that that delicious cranberry juice is working its magic? I'm so glad Billie girl is back to her old self too. xx

I'm so glad your headache finally left you Mags and I hope you got a good sleep and feel much better today.
Oh poor little bird, my Lulu cat hasn't brought anything in so far, I'm hoping she isn't a hunting cat, she sits on the window sill meowing at the birds as if to say 'come here to me so I can catch you' she's not 1 yet so maybe she's still a bit young. The cat I had previously was a hunter and she brought everything home, some of her offerings made me feel quite ill at times.

Aww (( Venuscat)) I'm sorry someone upset you, how very dare they? You are so lovely to everyone. Rise above it, they just aren't worth it.
I love my gardening and plants too though I'm still a bit of a novice, I'm finding it sooooo therapeutic.

Hevyn, I think that first pic is Calibrachoa too, they are a form of climbing petunia and very colourful and pretty.

I'm glad you found your bank card Ann even though you'd already stopped it, at least you know nobody had tried to use it etc. I've done that with mine on more than one occasion. Keep your eye on the sales for that patio table, it sounds just perfect.

Glad you've joined us Mags, I love it here, I love how we all love animals and plants and the simple joys of life.

Very funny Suki, how apt. xx

See you all later. xxx

Thought I posted, but apparently did not get through.

My hand is okay. My GP said it was ulcerated and infected- put me on AB's. The Burns Unit said no- just routine and nothing amiss. Still continuing AB's, on their advice- otherwise may lead to infection, either way looking better today.
Had to change enrolment again- the curriculum is changing and so had to mix stuff up- to meet new subjects for next year.
Luverly day today.
