Dean Ford 1946-2019

Dean Ford, the frontman with Scottish guitar-pop group Marmalade, has died aged 72.

I never met Dean Ford and never owned any Marmalade records but his song Reflections of My Life is one of my favourite songs ever.

A few years ago after a career and many decades lost to alcoholism, he started recording again and re-did Reflections....

Its a lovely, poignant and more weathered version - a great testament to talent and recovery

RIP Dean

I have loved that Reflections song so much over the years, so unique. And unlike so much throwaway pop music these days, it seems to grow in poignancy as you age. I hadn't heard that he'd had drinking trouble too, wow.

How odd. That has always been one of my favorite songs, but I hadn't heard it for years. Just about a week ago, for some unknown reason, the song popped into my head and stayed there for a couple of days. Not only the song, but that same video you posted, Dee.

I am sad to hear of his passing.
