Wow, Ann! What a day! You should be tired. Both the car salesman and the carpet guy are probably crying right about now.

Just wondering if anyone has heard from Opi? I know she was going somewhere but I don't recall how long she said she would be gone. It's been two weeks since she's been active on the site.

She was driving to Long Island for the reading of her sister's will. Not sure how long of a drive it is from where she lives, but I hope all is well with her. She had a blood clot in her eye as well, so may have had complications that would hold her up from driving.

We love you, Op!!!! Check in when you can.

And Suki, kitty getting in bed is adorable. I really do need to get me a cat one day soon.

Hev, you did 't want to be there when I saw the carpet unravel. I have vacuumed before with no problem but the seam must not have been sewn together properly. They assured me that they are sending their best man, Wayne, and that he will be here, lay the carpet and be done all in one day.

I have my insurance in place for the new car (did I say I love it) and kept it on the old Rav as well until we scrap it, probably early next week. I cannot wait to get that mouse hotel out of here. We never had another problem after I removed over 40 of the vermine, but I never felt the same about that car and didn't trust that they didn't chew something...like maybe my brake line...and scrapped is where it belongs.

I was wondering about Opi too. Seems like she's been gone a long time. We miss you Opi.

ANN!
Conggrats on the Rav. 2 points you need to think on with great formality and seriousnessess.
- your successful Royal status means you should be followed with decorum . But I know you to be a modest queen, so when you get out of the new car- have Bubba roll out the damaged carpet from your lounge room for you, red is so showy.

In some parts, folk are predisposed to tying their hunting kill- their trophies on the bonnet of their car..deer and as such.

I think it would be apt- for you to, just for a few days- strap that car saley guy to the front of your Rav.
Alive, I think.
Just make sure he has a sippy bottle and a sunhat.

Interesting facts on Ospreys going to Brazil for the winter ! Madcap you always know such interesting information !

I have a bright red hat from Duluth Trading Co. It has a floppy brim, vents and UV protection, is crushable to pack, but is not water proof. I wear it in the garden and by the pool.

Chic, My zinnias petered out this year...it's almost like something ate them Last year's were gorgeous. My perennials are doing very well.....I always think of Least when I look at the Bee Balm

Ann, Wow, a new car ! I still think of mine as new, even thought we bought it last Nov., I'm still in love with it. Astonishing about your 30 day old carpet, quite an inconvenience .

LJ, Have a wonderful anniversary in Chicago. When Mr. P and I were dating and madly involve, he was supposed to take me to Chicago for a long week end, but instead we went to Toledo......long story....and yet I married him

Hev , I'm glad to hear your zinnias are doing well ...it sounds like you've had a sighting of the rare "Bossy Bird " !

PJ, I'm sure it's hard to let go of your dreams to reunite with your family. The only thing I can offer is to think of them as still being a part of your life, a part you hold as private and special......they live in your heart <3

Going to be hot and humid starting tomorrow. Mr. P's last day of work is tomorrow, he's taking his 2 weeks vacation till his "official" retirement date of July 31st.

I bought 20 lbs of Michigan Tart cherries today ( already pitted ) and froze them in 2 lb bags.....we love cherry crisp. The Peach Truck is popular in our neck of the woods and they return on Sunday, so I'll have a plethora of fresh Georgia peaches !

Opi last posted 6/28. She said it was about a 6-7 hr. ride to Long Island. I assumed she was only staying a few days, but I guess not.

Pondy - I remember your zin's were great last year. Mine were awful - so maybe it's my turn to have good ones.
Bossy Birds are staring at me through the window as I type this. Apparently they hold a grudge.
Fruit sounds yummy. Cherry crisp - what a great idea.

Hev, how dare those fowl mouthed birds scold you for being on "their" deck! I had big dreams for my patio but it's just as well that I stopped with a few pots of flowers (that have been replaced as they die off in the hot sun). Next year I think I will see if we can add a retractable awning, it would shade the patio and keep our place cooler too. My newest pots are Portulaca, a more succulent flower that thrives in the sun and whose flowers close up each evening.

I chose all yellow because they are bright and go well with my purple flow petunias.

I will soon be getting ready for my brother's arrival. I won't be back until they leave some time tomorrow but will try to peek in tonight.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Yesterday we spent the day with friends on their sailboat. Perfect day for it.
They have nflatable kayaks to keep n the boat, which I think is an awesome idea.
I may look into that.
We had a dlicious dinner of burgers and fries that, unfortunately, ripped up my stomach last night.
Just can’t eat that stuff anymore.
So today I’ll do some shopping for mom this am, then take it easy this afternoon.
We had such a nice time. Nice to get away for a day.
Ann, congrats on new car and carpet.
Hev, speaking of bossy birds, are you watching Claws this season? I’m not. Just not interested.
I like Grace and Frankie on Netflix this year until the season’s finale, which I thought to be ageist and not at all in keeping with the characters’ zeitgeist.

Billie has an appt this afternoon. She hasn't puked in the last hour or so but is very quiet, not doing anything but lying down.

Least - I hope Billie's ok.

Maudcat - I'm not watching Claws either. I watched it all last season, & it had it's moments - but towards the end it just got too silly for me.
Sounds like a lovely sailing day - hope you didn't get sunburned, but I'm sure you are sensible.

Ann - Love the portulaca - I haven't seen it in a long time. Our decks both face west & are impossible to sit on in the summer, unless it's cloudy. I can't believe how intense the sun becomes, even if it's not that hot a day.

Vet doesn't know why she was puking but gave her an antiemetic shot. She also found a few fleas on her!! So they gave her Bravecto to kill the fleas on her.

She still is very quiet and not acting like herself. But at least she's not puking anymore.

I'm glad she seems ok. Jackpot's been eating sticks lately - something he hasn't bothered with in ages. Can't be good for his tummy.
