British people and places

I noticed there are lots of British people in the forum and I just want to declare my love for all things British. My forebears were mostly from Northern England (Northumberland, Yorkshire), Scotland, and Ireland. When I finally got to visit, because my brother got a job in N Ireland, I felt like I'd come home. I was there twice in the early nineties. At the time I was a teetotaler vegetarian. I was so happy to find all the vegetarian options in restaurants, the seemingly total acceptance of eccentricity, and the wealth of things to do and see. I loved it. I don't know hows so much can be contained in such [a relatively] small country. <3

I saw a little of it. The people were so friendly. We stayed in Derry and saw some of the country all around it. We went to Donegal too and went cliff walking with some sheep. And the Giants Causeway of course.

Lonelywombat - My mom was born in Sheffield. Only been to London, but want to go back.

PK - Visiting Ireland is on my list too - I have such an affinity for it, though only a tiny bit of Irish Blood. Thanks for the lovely picture.

Been to the city of Sheffield many times (last time a couple of months ago in deep snow!). Mostly I've been going to the university for something work related, but always have a wander around if I have time, it's got such a good feel. Missed the Crucible theater though, must put that on my list, thanks!
