I used to make those out of those big water bottles you get for water coolers. I had special tongs made to insert the plants.

I think that's amazing and look how green and healthy that plant looks.

Plants hate me, they shrivel up just at the thought of me walking by.

In my next life I will have a green thumb and do something wonderful like this man did.

Not really. You just need a big clear container, good potting soil, some gravel for drainage at the bottom, and a few small plants. I made a funnel out of paper to pour in the gravel and dirt, then used the tongs to make holes in the dirt, then planted the plants. When done, I used a spray bottle to water it by watering down the sides of the container to wash away any dirt. If you put a lid on it, it will be self watering. And if it gets too humid inside, just take the lid off for a while.

I call them "jardens".

They are fun to make. It's easier, of course, if it's a wide mouth jar, but the tongs work well with the narrow neck jars. It looks really pretty in a sunny room. And you can get fancy and put in colored gravel or pretty stones for the drainage.

They really are a bright spot of greenery in a sunny room. And you can get fancy containers, not just the jars and bottles.

When you make yours, I'd love to see a picture of it.
