Swine Flu...coming to a neighborhood near you.

It's now in two cities in my county (Contra Costa).

That's scary... We don't have any cases in Colorado... YET!
And suddenly you know... it is time to try something new and trust in new beginnings.

The common flu kills thousands of people every year, but there's not much more than the normal hype about it, right? At the most it gets a brief report on the news followed by locations where people can get a flu shot.

But Swine Flu just sounds so evil! As soon as the first case is reported in Phoenix, the media will be doing backflips to report it, just like they always do.

Of course, having said that, I'll probably come down with it tomorrow!

There are 3 reported cases in my area.
I am so sick of hearing about to be honest with you.
My cousin told me they had an emergency meeting at her job and are making it mandatory to wear masks in certain departments.
She works in a corporate office of a bank. WTF??

They've renamed it some politically correct goofball Klingon sounding name. Don't want to offend anybody by using the word pig.

Jeez, what happened to this country and the world?

People are stupid.

I lived in Toronto during the SARS outbreak and I'd rather they did too much too soon, than too little too late.

I think the precautions they are recommending are good, better safe than sorry.

Just the thoughts of a codie who is home sick with a bad cold and gratefully not the flu of any kind.

Go against the grain.
Don’t be made timid by worried rejection.
Let nature’s curious wisdom fill you.
Let the world’s mystical heritage guide you.

play your tunes.

OK, I agree that this is a horrible virus that has taken lives, but I feel that things are getting a bit out of hand. The Governor of Ohio has made statements asking people to stay away from public transportation. How may I ask are people supposed to get to work? What effect would this also have on the economy?

I agree that the public needs to be informed about it, what the symptoms are and the precautions to take, but come on. My niece is only 6 years old but she is very intelligent and hears everything that happens around her. After hearing the statement from the Governor, she threw a fit like no one had ever seen because she is terrified to get on the school bus! This poor child was hysterical, no matter what her parents said to her.

Where do we draw the line? When is it too much information?

Thanks for letting me share,

Well - we have confirmed cases in Louisiana.

within 60 miles of where I live. Some students went on a trip to Mexico a few weeks ago - Private school - now several schools in that Parish (That's county for you non-Louisiana folks) are closed. So far, all those students appear to be responding to the medication well.

Our Governor has asked all personal who are sick to stay home for at least 24-48 hrs to make sure that you are passed the infectious time frame. Even if you do not have the exact symptoms of "swine flu" - just some of the symptoms.

Everyone - please just be safe!

Swine Flu Prevention

Don't do this!

Swine Flu tracking? There's an app for that.
