Looks interesting Soberwolf I do find Brand a fascination person. Copied his blurb for the good folk out there:
"My qualification is not that I am better than you but that I am worse. More addicted, more narcissistic, more driven by lust and the need for power and recognition. Through this rather grim and let’s face it, at times bloody glamorous, research I’ve inadvertently happened upon some incredible people and ideas that, one day at a time, sometimes one moment at a time, lift me out of the glistening filth and into the presence of something ancient and timeless which I believe, no matter what your problem, will give you access to The Solution."

Think I might treat myself.......

Just saw this book on Amazon and am glad someone on SR has already mentioned it. I love his colorful, eloquent, witty, but sincere way of expressing himself. It took only a quick scan of the preview before I decided to just buy it instead of getting the sample first.

Hi all,

Just wanted to say that I've read this book and found a lot of sound advice from Mr Brand. There are also some heartwarming chapters about the birth of his first child and how much being a parent has changed him for the better.
I admire his honesty about some of the mistakes he's made publicly and how he's made amends with his darkest of days.
Hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I did...

Russell Brand is very interesting to me, I first heard about him when he married Katy Perry but I actually only found out within the last 1-2 years about his work for the recovery community and his outspokenness about substance abuse.

I've never much "liked" him - but did get the book and it's great. He's funny and relatable and I def don't mind the F-word

. I've had a couple people tell me about his speaking and books and that I should give it a try. Then I heard him on the JRE podcast, which I always listen to and I had a difficult time getting his message because something about his personality just absolutely irks me! lol

But I think seeing it on this board has convinced me to buy it.

^^Abgator- someone turned me onto Dax Shepard's podcast Armchair Expert. He and Kristen Bell are quite public about his recovery and her support and their life, so on and he's pretty refreshing to me "in person" (ie not playing a character in a movie- which is a diff kind of entertaining). He has guests sometimes (Billy Nye the Science Guy was random!) and talks about a whole lot of different stuff.
