Hey Toad....

How are you doing? Did you do anything
for Memorial weekend? Ride?

We are getting pretty warm down here with
tempts reaching close to 100 and it's got me
feeling worried about it. I know I dont have
any control over it and all I am capable of
dealing with it is....stay out of the sun. Water
my gardens before day break and just stay
serene, calm and cool. Whew..!!!!

I'll pass on your helpful suggestion Toad
to my husband to help and prevent problems
on future rides. Thank you...!!!!

Great bike pics, Sharon. I rode a bike when I was younger, but stopped because of safety and warmth. I do remember that feeling being on a bike in perfect weather, nothing like it. I am way happy for you doing what you love. Life is for living now- not just then. I love driving - warm, but windows down with Pink-F cranked up....always driving carefully, but a wonderful way to 'meditate'.

Cool Pheonix....Having that experience on your
own motorcycle is something you will always have
with you and soooooo you definitely understand
what I'm saying when it comes to riding free in the
wind.

Music.....I dont think I could go thru life without
it. It was with me before, during and after alcohol
and is a gift to enjoy and appreciate.

I can only imagine how awesome it is to
ride with your windows down seeing the
country side and hills listening to your favorite
music.

Pink has some good songs out there like
Just Give Me A Reason and What About Us
just to name a few I like too.

Over here in Louisiana, it's already warmish
and we cant ride very long without our A/C
keeping us cool. But, we do have music playing
the 70's music most all the time.

I think we are stuck in the 70's just when
we are in the car.

What's the tempts like over there right now
where you live? Other than music, what else
are you into?

3 hour drive, hills, very cold, windows down, music loud (Alexis on Fire). The cows were curious. Always soothes my soul.

Hey Pheonix.....

That looks like as nice peaceful road to ride on
while listening to your music. I went to look at
Alex On Fire music and found this one because
it had a pretty Cardinal on the front cover.

I also listened to a few songs of theirs and well.....
I liked listening to the guy whom I could understand
what he was saying. I could listen to just him and
all the instruments played by the band. However,
im not a fan of screaming.... lol

The rest of the music sounds pretty awesome
where I could ride along bobbin my head up and
down and feeling the music in my soul.

and.....bones, nerves.....lol

If they could leave out the screaming then
seeing them at a concert would be something
I would go see, but at a safe distance so I woulnt
go deaf.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JghBdQjuy2E

Now.....

if it were me riding thru the hills, the cows
may hear some John Denver music or INXS
or Patsy Cline or Journey....

If all them were on my speakers the
cows may come to the car and join me and
we'd have a mini jam session....

Did my 1st oil change since I've been riding- all well. DId a coolant change too, I had done it last fall but my prev owners didn't maintain things well so I did a full flush with vinegar etc but it came out clean. I've seen some pics of antifreeze coming out looking like tea... The R6 really doesn't like summer stop & go, it tends to heat up fast. Modern crotch rockets have maybe twice the radiator area...

it sure is nice to be out there though, when traffic opens up and I can let it rip a bit boy does it scoot. Hoping to break away for a longer ride on saturday- wife and daughter out of town for the afternoon

I'm guessing this is your new motorcycle thread aasharon ...

Hey schnappi…..

I guess this is where I should be for now.

I sooooo enjoy sharing with others about
our motorcycle trips and such, but because
we haven't been riding for the past few yrs.
the original thread got really quiet.

Then.....

Toad pop in to ask where I was. Altho I
hadn't been writing on bikers in recovery,
Im always here in SR sharing on recovery
and a good while now on gardening, flowers,
outdoorsy stuff, birds, butterflies.....

Anyway.....

I saw where toad asked where I was and responded
and …..well.....here is where folks can find me too.

Good to hear your out and about on your motorcycle
too Schnappi. Keeping it running smoothly by taking
care of it particular needs.

We took our road king out before noon Memorial Day
while the roads were light which was pretty nice. Then
when we got on the interstate and a tad more fast
traffic, I got kind of nervous as we began to find our
sweet speed to cruise.

Whew....it can get a little hairy when all the
lanes are filled with cars jumping and switching
back and forth. Me, I just want to get off that
craziness and just roll on down the road alone
or with fewer cars.

Once we got on the Mississippi River bridge,
we could look down upon the mighty Miss. River,
the barges and Casino. Memories flood in reminding
me as a child sitting in the back seat of our Oldsmobile
riding over the bridge to get to the otherside of Baton
Rouge to shop.

Riding at night with the Exxon plant all lite up,
windows rolled down with warm air blowing in
to keep us cool.

Anyway.....having a motorcycle today to ride
outside feeling one with nature's elements. Gotta
love it.

Husbands got our radio working but stills needs
to work on our helmet intercom situation. We like
using it to talk to each other and listen to our music
thru our helmets which is a nice plus when traveling
long distance.

Of course you can turn it off when you get
tired of all the noise in your ears.

You've all inspired me to ride north and visit my daughter in Flagstaff for church & cheeseburgers!

That is awesome Astro. Let us know all about
your ride. All the sights and sounds you hear
and see before, during and after your ride.

My husband has to glue the soles of my boots
back together before we ride again. Seems like
my favorite pair of boots was sitting up too long
and the heel separated from the leather.

Anyway.....I think it is great to have each other
to keep one another inspired to get back on our
motorcycles to ride and then to share about our
trips.

As of now we have a few projects to finish around
here and rain coming up towards the end of the week.

Pheonix, even if you are not on a motorcycle,
please continue to share about your relaxing
rides around your area. There is soooo many
lovely things to see where you live, things we
wouldn't see here in Baton Rouge or other parts
of the country.

Cool Phoenix. I'm trying to jog my memory
as to which Gorge we visited on a trip long ago.
I believe it was somewhere way up north
in Pennsylvania or it could have been down
south in Arizona.....

Anyway....that ravine....a deep, narrow gorge
with steep sides we saw was pretty breathtaking
and kind of scary.

Good thing they have that gorge barricaded
so folks wont get hurt.

I guess the Grande Canyon is a deep kind
of a gorge? It's pretty huge and one amazing
sight to see which is where we road our
motorcycle to several or so years back
staying in a lodge way up top on the canyon.

A trip and experience we wont ever forget.

Thanks Pheonix for taking that picture
on one of your relaxing drives.
