I did not know Carol very well but have always greatly admired her recovery; her dedication to the people of SR & straightforward demeanor. I've never noticed a time when she ever once failed to be.... truthful, grateful, friendly, respectful, kind & wise.
She will be greatly missed by so many here...

I am so sorry and although I never heard from her, I want to pass on my condolences to her family and friends. I am grieving myself and I know how difficult a time it can be but it sounds as though Carol helped so many hundreds of people. A woman in a million.
I was reading through some of Carol's bedtime grats and I found the one one where she says she is going to go to bed listening to her very favorite piece of classical music: Max Bruch's Violin Concerto. So I looked it up. What an an incredible woman she must've been, to love football, be a great grandmother, and love this rich and evocative piece of music. I listened to it on YouTube. Here is a link if anyone wants to hear it. I keep trying to paste the link but I don't think it is working. But if this doesn't work it is worth finding it and listening to. Good night, Carol.

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Carol, but I wish I had. She seems like a very wise and loved woman, who helped countless people without question. She is a prime example of what this is all about, selflessly giving your love to others while helping them out during a hard time in their life. Rest in peace.
Rest In Peace, dear Carol.
You touched so many of us here with your kind words and gentle wisdom.
Your encouragement helped me through those shaky early days and helped to build the foundation which has turned my life around.
Your legacy here will never be forgotten.

Although being fairly new and having little interaction with Carol, I have read the many messages posted here upon her death.
It seems painfully obvious her death is our(SR) profound loss. People like Carol are so rare, and for those who had the honor of knowing her--my sincere condolences.
As long as we keep her in our heart she will still be watching over us!
Thank you Carol for having spent "time" in the lives of the SR members.
Sincerely,
TrixMixer

I'm so sad to read this. No one has the skills she had to smack ya upside the head and give you a hug at the same time, all through typed words. She was an anchor for many of us as we've lost our way, the mama hen that kept us all playing nicely, and the biggest cheerleader of second chances I've ever seen.
What a lovely lady, I feel so blessed to have known her.

I too feel so blessed to have known Carol a little through SR. I was always so grateful to find her here each time in the Newcomers threads when I was starting over and then again over again with many Day 1s.
Thank you Carol for all you have done for so many.

Carol gave of herself to help others find the freedom from addiction that she had found. She will be missed, and her words will live on in her posts. She will continue to help others through the words she left here at SR.
Though I know ((Carol)) will live on, in all of us, I still wanted to go back and read her story. Here is part 2, with the link to part 1:
