My doc switched me from seme long term high doses of klonopin to Ativan and then a three day taper. I wanted to put a bullet in my head.

I’m resurrecting this post. I don’t believe my doctor has a clue about discontinuation of benzos. A red flag was when she suggested I start using Goli Ashwaghanda gummies and try to taper.

Would I be out of line if I suggested the Ashton Manual to her and recommended a Valium taper from alprazolam? The Ashton manual points out that the patient should be willing to taper. Well, I’m unwilling! I’ve been on the same dose of .5 mg for 32 years.

I don't think it would be out of line.
