1 year sober!
I can't believe it's been a year already. I celebrated my 1 year of sobriety on June 19th!
Although I don't often post anymore, I just wanted everyone here to know how grateful I am that I found this place a year ago. I don't know if I could have remained sober in the early months without it. I've learned so much about alcoholism and about myself and the human condition in general.
In one year I've lost 38 pounds, gotten help with my anxiety (am on Paxil & Wellbutrin), have moved up the ladder in my career and have become a MUCH better mom.
It's been difficult to get "real" with myself and to make myself accountable for all the awful things I said and did while under the influence of alcohol, but I've done it, and will continue to do it probably for a long time. It's only been in probably the past month that I've been able to forgive myself a little and not dwell on the past as much. I'm ready to move on with my life....sober!
Thank you everyone! And to those of you struggling...please hang in there. Keep trying. You CAN do it.
