I’ll never be what I was,
but today I am me;
It no longer matters what I was,
for today I am free;

Free of my addiction,
Now able to wonder who I will be;
Gone is my affliction,
now it is up to me;

My future is wide open,
where once it was closed up tight;
Where before I was barely copin',
my life is now out-a-sight;

I could not have walked along this path,
but for those that came before me and broke trail;
For left to myself I could not do the math,
now I am able to let go and unfurl my sail!
