Sometimes, you just need to ask
Quick update. I sold my house a few weeks ago and have been searching for a house to buy closer to where I work. There were few houses on the market that really appealed to me and had the things I wanted. I found one (1890's victorian) that I kinda liked, but it needed a lot of work. Anyway, my thoughts kept returning to a house I looked at back in Oct. or Nov. of last year that I really loved, but it had been taken off the market. The closer I got to "running out of time" to find a house, the more my thoughts returned to this house. So, I approached my real estate agent with the idea of making an offer on the house, even though it wasn't officially for sale. I figured that they wanted to sell it last year, maybe they still want to sell it. You never know unless you ask, right?
So, I put in an offer, and two counter offers later, it's MINE! Escrow opened today! I can't believe I got my first choice with all the features I wanted at a price that I can afford!
The old me would have waited to see if it was relisted, and settled for something else if it wasn't. The new me figured, you never know unless you ask. And it paid off. I can't wait to move. Gas was $3.33 last time I checked and I am cutting my commute from over 30 miles each way to 6 blocks each way! Ha Ha-- to the oil companies!

God works in many ways.
A guy at school was saying how he will need sell his house soon. He was still thinking about it and had not contacted the RE agent yet. Someone walks up and asks...is it for sale? House sold with no effort at all and his savings account was getting very low. A CEO that was layed off. He needed to sell.
So not only did your asking bring you a blessing, you never know what kind of blessing it could have brought others as well.

I'm working on getting pics. Since the listing isn't "active," I can't access it. It seems you have to be a real estate agent to get your hands on old listings. I am going to see if my agent will email me the pics. If she can't, then I will take pictures when I go for a walk-thru. Maybe next weekend.

I have found it to be true in my own situation that I have often shyed away from asking for anything. When I have finally asked, it's proven to come out in a way that is just funny and has me asking why I was so afraid to ask in the first place. LOL.
Your story is definately a big one! A house!!! And the one that you wanted!!!!!!
I am so happy for you! Congratulations!

Awesome! When you live aroud an alcoholic you settle. Even if you master detachment, you never get the husband or wife you dream of. They are at best unrealible. I have never had a friend in the house when my husbands home, partly because I live so far out and partly because he is drunk everyday. I go out to friends. It will be so much fun for you to have this house.
