Hello. This one's for CarolD, but you all might be interested. I bought 'Beyond the Influence' from Amazon (only $14 w/shipping) as per CarolD's recommendation. It's a sequel, but *way* newer than the original so I thought I would start there. I'm only through the first section; maybe I'll post a more complete review later.

Anyway, as if I didn't know it already, my brain is wired differently than most folks outside this nice little, infinitely supportive forum. In short, the table, or rather bar, is all setup for alcoholics like me from the beginning. Granted, many complex variables are also involved, but let's just say nobody should really be *too* surprised of my progress. I used the word progress deliberately as this is a progressive disease. The last door I go through locks behind me. I think I knew that too.

There's lots of information regarding decades of research. Science! I love it. One interesting statistic mentioned in this book: 10% of all drinkers (those who drink most heavily) account for 50% of all alcohol consumed in this country.

I wish I could read the newer one..
I lost most of my vision and can no longer read,
My retina disease has nothing to do with alcoholism.
I use a program on line that speaks to me.
