He came home, not drunk but glassy eyed and pouting. Back to the one word grunts. Right into the bedroom with his beer. I didn't react. When I don't react, he can't stomp out. He fell asleep. Even the dog came out of the bedroom, plunked down and the living room floor, sighed and looked up at me. Something strange happened. Spooky! the house was quiet, the two dogs were asleep in the livingroom. I was washing a window. I was thining and praying letting my mind wonder. I heard a car alarm go off outside so I went to stick my head out the front door to see who it was. It was my car. Both sets of car keys were undisturbed on the kitchen table and no one was around outside. I was pushing all the buttons and it finally went off. It has never gone off before and I've had the car for two years. I just feel like it meant something. It has left me ill at ease.
