Day 3 - I will not use today.

Hey out there. I am new to this site, and back in recovery for the 3rd time this year. I am exhausted. The longest I have been able to stay sober for was 4 1/2 mos this past spring and summer. I want to live. My drug of choice is so evil and speaks to me in such subtle ways and before I know it I am using or coming down... I will be strong today and listen to it, respect it and call someone if I need help. I will pray and keep busy. I am grateful for this site because even if I am having trouble saying these things out loud right now, I can at least say them here, read them and know that I am serious about my recovery. Thank you. Please pray for me. I want help.

Thanks!

SWEETSTASH,

and not using today is all you have to do today. And you can do it. All recovery requires is that you give your best effort but recovery also promises that your best effort, if you give it, will be good enough.

One Love, One Heart,
Tony

Each day when you wake up, make the commitment to not use for that day. Don't worry about tomorrow. The days will take care of themselves. Just for today.

I'm glad that you are here!

Have tried going to AA/NA? Those meetings, the people, and the steps saved my life. They could save yours.
