Stinking reminders! *sigh*
Stinking reminders! *sigh*
I was doing some cleaning in my family room and came across an empty vodka bottle in a side table! Anger and sadness both hit me at the same time. I just wanted to take that bottle and throw it as far as I could. Then I started crying. I know that as I start sorting through things in this house and getting it in order that I will probably have to deal with more situations like this. It just hurts to be reminded of the pain - both his and mine. I know there was probably a reason for this at this time, but da*n it feels horrible.
Thanks for letting me vent!

A friend of mine lost her husband and over the course of the year, she would come to a point of tears from time to time. A tee shirt, a sock, a newspaper on the floor. I see and know that it is a normal action. I was also able to see that it can be worked through and that it happens less over time.
Let the tears fall as they want, they clean and comfort in their own way.

Chrisite........I am so sorry. Sending you a big hug.
I can only imagine your sadness, and fury! My AH is still alive (only about 15 minutes, and a million miles, away) and I get those feelings when I encounter his stuff. UGH!
Do what you can AT YOUR pace. You're in my prayers, you know.

(((((((( hugs ))))))))) cw, just cuz you deserve them.
I keep a towel handy whenever I'm going thru old stuff. Cheaper than buying kleenex all the time and less messy to clean up.
Mike :-)

Well - my good ole HP was watching over me as usual! My niece just sent this to me. Funny how He knows when we need something. Never doublt it for a moment!
To A Keeper!
One day someone's mother died.
And on that clear, cold morning, in the warmth of her bedroom, the daughter
was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't any more.
No more hugs, no more lucky moments to celebrate together, no more phone
calls just to chat, no more "just one minute."
Sometimes, what we care about the most goes away . . never to return before we can say good-bye, say "I Love You."
So while we have it . . . it's best we love it . . .. and care for it and fix
it when it's broken . . . and take good care of it when it's sick.
This is true for marriage . and friendships ....
And children with bad report cards; And dogs with bad hips; And aging parents and grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we cherish them .
Some things we keep -- like a best friend who moved away or a classmate we grew up with. There are just some things that make us happy, no matter what.
Life is important, and so are the people we know . . and so, We keep them
close!
I received this from someone who thought I was a 'KEEPER'!
Then I sent It to the people I think of in the same way.
Now it's your turn to send this to all those people who are "keepers" in your
life.
Thank you very much for being a special part of my life!
YOU ARE A KEEPER!
Have an awesome day and know that someone has thought about you today. . . I did. Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape. Remember to appreciate all the different people in your life!
This stands so true love the ones you care about while there here because you never know when they will be gone .

For me....I'd tie it (the empty) up in a zip-lock or two and then throw it and smash it until there was nothing left and then stomp on it for good measure. I'm not tidy...just lazy and don't want to clean up any more bottles OR cut myself because of it. (I'm a plastic-cup thrower for that very reason! haha) You now know for sure what a nut-case I am.
WHEW! That made me feel go just thinking about it!!! haha

Thank you for sharing. I can relate somewhat to what you're going through and I'm sending you a . Have been going down a memory lane of sorts these last couple of months (step 5+ work) with an ex-f who was an AH at the time but who gratefully now is an RA with some time under his belt. Those old memories can be so bittersweet - believe me, I know that one ALL too well. It's got me sharing/screaming/bawling in more meetings than I can shake a stick at.
"Let Go and Let God" meaning more and more with every passing day.
Thank you for sharing "The Keeper" - it really touched me and I'll definitely pass this one along - it's a keeper.
Go easy on yourself - my prayers and thoughts are with you.
