I'm back
I'm back
I managed to break through my denial after a horrible incident during the holidays. I was with my family and my dad totally embarassed everyone by drinking and taking pills. I've always suspected my dad was an addict just like me, and I knew my grandfather had gone to AA years ago. I was able to realize that I can either lay down and be taken by this disease or I can fight it. So I've decided to fight it again. I want to thank everyone who tried to help me last time, you are appreciated more than you know.
Welcome back!!!
Hey I used to live in your neck of the woods! Winter Park is really pretty. I lived near Rollins College.
Anyway, so glad you came back. I always feel the more you try the more chances you have of success. Ya crashed again... ya hit bottom (again)... nothing we all haven't done ourselves. I'm so glad you decided to pick yourself up again and give sobriety/sanity a go. Alcoholism really is insanity. The further I distance myself from alcohol the clearer to me it is becoming. When I was in the grips of it - somehow - it seemed so sane and rational, my drinking. You can do this. You really truly can.
So, welcome back!

thanks for the support guys! I've got a plan this time: NA/AA + SoberRecovery Boards + my HP. I'm gonna work this program like crazy.
If you're a newcomer reading this thread I just want to let you know that abstinence from alcohol/drugs does not equal recovery, you need to grow spiritually to overcome this insanity.
captainzing: you rule man, keep up the good fight brother
